Ryeman,

vhx26 / vxh28  has been trying to get a freebie from Volkswagen for about 2 years now it seems since he decided that a Fabia vRS was not for him.

He loves the Company and their products and never tells us if he has or ever has owned any VWG vehicle.

News articles are saying that about 120,000 (25%) of owners with vehicles in the US affected by the VW Device Cheat Scandal have signed up for their Goodwill Offer.

As to what Governments and Courts require them to pay, Germany might not be the best indication of what is coming the VW Groups way.

The Actions being raised in Australia will be interesting in how they get on.

PS

Now it looks like VW are having to Recall Models in Russia,

1906 of them built in the last 2 years Russia because of Valvetrain component Issues.

Never rains but it pours when you try to Expand your Empire and Quality Control goes out the window as

easily as H20 leaks in your door seals.

So VWG were telling true, that compensation will depend on market needs.

Never VWG car again!

You know it makes sense . . .

Looks like US owners are also offered $2000 towards a trade in on a new VW motor and you can add your $1000 dollars of gift vouchers to that.

Be lucky to get a VW keying in the UK,

Mind you when I bought a VW a few years ago the salesman told me they are rare collectors items and them gave me two of them!

There you go then, that should have let you know that some VW Employees or Dealership Salespeople can be lying barstewards that will say or do anything.

(Maybe try the keyrings on Ebay, they could turn out to be a collectors item.)

Depending of market. Different market, different solutions... who cares about customers?

Meanwhile on the other side of the pond it is looking a bit tricky for VAG....

Seems odd that they think a retro urea injection installation would ONLY cost $US1K so might go the buyback route instead.

To me, those figures don't add up.

I need the ground clearance so will probably go the Pug 2008 with triple if it gets the same power/torque version as our 308.....a genuine clean diesel.

I cant afford to change mine. Circumstances have changed. If i cud it wud have been gone already

Will Red Bull get VW engines?

Doubt it.

The last thing on their mind I guess.

Audi and Porsche do seem to have a fair degree of involvement in motor racing . . . perhaps Dietrich Mateschitz and Christian Horner should have a look ;)

I was thinking the same but I am guessing that it may just illustrate the huge mark up between OEM cost when you are bulk buying for manufacture and the price at which parts are sold to consumers for aftermarket fittment. To an extent I think we have been brainwashed into accepting that car parts are very expensive!

Agree, and repetitive installation will reduce labour time per vehicle to a minimum

But a retro injection system with control system and the fabrication of a tank piping etc would surely be a lot more than a K

But

Not equal to the massive losses involved in a U.S. buyback
