Breaking VW Emissions Scandal -Mk I

Featured Replies

Because 88mph had police taking you to court, and the member in the thread manged to get a car up to 88mph yesterday. Keep up at the back!

Strange, I've been under the impression that the legal limit was 70mph.  I'll have to reset my cruise control.  :D

You are right the UK limit is 70 mph on certain roads for certain vehicle types.

72 or even 86 has not had you having to make a Court Appearance for being Caught and Prosecuted on some roads.  88 might well have though.

As to limiters,

that was not Serious suggestion, but then when the UK Government flew it as a kite it was not serious.either.

As to limiting in the UK,]

Karting Centres can turn Karts down as you drive them, they have done for years with basic Radio Signals,

overhead Gantries in the UK could do the same. but with more advanced technology.

As it is Insurance Black Boxes can monitor you, and HGV's have Limiters.

o5surveyor,  do you take everything you read seriously,

or think ever, that is just sharn, and not worth even reading.  or does it need winky things before you notice.?

source of information?

Yes who says and Where, ie the UK,

Is that VW's wishful thinking and what the DoT in the UK agreed to.?

Is the Fix Finalised, on the Dealerships System ready, tried and Tested.?

it's vw wishful thinking

For me it is unimportant WHEN, but WHAT is fix and  WHAT are the consequences for egine.

VW have given internal whistleblowers 'til November 30.

My guess is

A reduce EGR lifespan

if so, it is not so bad :) Revochip will make it even better than before ;)

But if they change injectors, CR pump.... I am afraid that engine will be destroyed forever.

As you say 'clean diesel' is a falsehood.

There is no clean engine.

Maybe electromobile powered from Sun energy... everything else is more or less falsehood.

Yes

But

'Clean diesel' was VW's lie to the U.S. in their marketing campaign

Nobody else has claimed it

Totally agree with you, so they must be punished hard!

VW have given internal whistleblowers 'til November 30.

Since workers already sit on the Workers council and have a vested interest what is their incentive to whistle-blow whilst they have considerable non-incentive.  One already said about the doping of diesel fuel with engine oil to affect result my there was no name mentioned so presumably an ex-employee or secret journalistic source.  Who do they tell, VW, German authorities?

by skodafang is a pretty important one,

(that should not get lost in the waffle and title changes and merging of threads.)

 Thanks just trying to help.

In that list, is that including the 1.4 TDI that is in the 2015 all new 3rd Generation Skoda Fabia?

Here is an idea for George Osborne MP.

Tax all road vehicles First Registered in the UK after November 2016 an extra £1000 a year if they are not fitted with a Limiter

that restricts the Vehicle to a Max of 88 mph.

This will bring him in revenue and make those unrestricted vehicles now registered worth a bit more money maybe.

Cut road deaths or maybe increase them who know, but then near everything is taxable including funerals so it is a win win all around.

Speed doesn't kill, but uneducated and unskilled drivers does.

I drive in Europe very often (specially Germany) and don't really like drive in UK. Too many unsure driver no knowing what to do.

No discipline on the roads "middle line hugging" on dual carriageways and motorways, no indicators, no common sense while changing line. Unpredictable behaviour of some drivers.

You haven't anything to complain about .....try Australia .....zero lane discipline and a sense of individuality.....as in " I'm not exceeding the speed limit so I can keep in the outside lane until I'M ready".

For ex-british prisoners they are behaving pretty well anyway ☺

Tony r.....quote " I think you will find most are, so may I suggest your disinterest should not be allowed to prejudice others. That makes sense, does it not?" I think you misunderstood my suggestion as I would be very interested in taking legal action against VAG so having a section that focuses on this would be useful for those wanting to take action to know how things are progressing and seeking compensation for being in limbo with a vehicle that has cheat devices fitted,no solution in sight and unable to trade the vehicle because most dealers won't touch with a sh***y stick ,without taking a bit hit on value, but some owners have a totally opposite view to me and have their VAG goggles on and think it's only the legal profession out to rip people off .asiff VAG is totally innocent and it was only a slight oversight when their expensive vehicles were mis sold and customers are for the foreseeable future trusting customers are suffering.

I have been a VAG freak since 17 when I bought a VW beetle. I have owned many VW group vehicles since that time as I believe they are excellent.

However, if I am disadvantaged by this defeat device issue, I will be more than happy to take action against VW/Skoda. The swines have been cheating us all. Where was their loyalty to me as a lifelong customer?
