What annoyed you today whilst driving? **V2**

Bought with 127k, with 2new tyres put on for 3500, the day joined brisky in jan 2012 :D.

Peeling lacquer in a few spots (sorted with a rattle can), hedge related cuts in front bumper, boot lid and back bumper showing a caravan hitch related injury... (still there)

Have claimed about double that in work milage so it literally owes me nothing, 56-58mpg, never let me down other than one jump start needed when battery gave up.

Now on 198.5k, ive done all the brakes, shocks.. regular 10-12k services. Thermostat changed, etc.

I cannot locate a similar vehicle for that kinda money.. ie 2008 reg, 125-140k for similar money...

Not today but yesterday driving home…   the group of little sh1ts that decided to lob a water bomb (or something along those lines) at me in the MX5…   missed me but hit the front wing so no issues initially as I thought they were just messing about and no harm done – however, when I got home I realised that the front wing has a two inch crease across it where whatever they threw landed!

So now I’m not so happy! – reported it to the Police and as expected they aren’t really interested but at least I have a Crime Number if I need to go through insurance.  I reported it within 20 minutes and no doubt the kids would still have been there if the Police had gone down there.

Just had a closer look and I reckon one of the specialist smart repairers could tap it out as they should be able to get access from under the bonnet – just annoyed with myself now for not taking some photos on my phone at the time of the kids involved – if I had then the Police would have been more interested but it never occurred to me at the time.  I wasn’t keen to stop as a couple of years ago I had someone chucking coins at me at the same location (they damaged the car as well) and it is an area that has had gang trouble previously…

It's annoyed me every day since the start of July. I moved out to the USA for 6 months with work, which is great. However, we've got a Toyota Camry boat thingy and a Chevy Cruze (urgh) between 5 of us. Both auto, both lacking power and handle like crap. I miss good European cars and roads that have you know, bends in them!!!

What area did it happen in skomaz?

Abbeydale road near the old picture house.  The kids were on Belper Rd.  Was trouble round there a few years ago with the local Asian youths laying claim to thier territory, which would tally with my experiences unfortunately.

Maybe...   Had an egg lobbed at me at Manor Top a few years back as well...   And there are certainly worse areas.

What gets me is why???   If it had hit me in the face (wasnt that far off) it would have been a lot worse...

Well..

got peppered by stones thriwn uo by a soft-roader on some badly done surface dressing.. dunno how the new screen (on since tuesday) didnt get chipped. On way to work.

Then.... a call from my boss when i was 5mins from the office to go an hrs drive the other to site due to a shedule change for planned works... during the drive to which -

Nearly had a head on with a combi van who came around a bend completely on my side of the road, possibly with a phone in jand... cant say sure i ws too busy deploying anchors and scanning for room to ditch it if needed.. only for an A6 beimg up my arse for no reason other being a k**b prior to this, i had braked a little earlier than usual for the bend in question, for Audiot's benefit.. thank god i did or i would been the meat in a sandwich!

Said bellend in A6 nearly shunted me during the event.

A6 man then over took me (i was doing 60 on a 50 road anyway...) as we approached another nasty bend in the same road - he ended up drifting to the far side of the road on exist as he clearly had the car control skills of a toddler in a shopping trolley. Then proceeded go f'ing nowhere! I wouldve been proceeding faster without him on the road due to his ****e cornering ability.

He then refused to overtake an X5 we caught up with despite time space and safe road to do it????

He,A6 man, eventually ****ed off a different route.

Then i nearly got taken out by an HGV straightlining a bend despite him being able to see me well in advance. Prat.

Followed by a bint in a 2011 focus doing the same thing about 4miles later.

Today was not a fun drive. Made worse by the fact i shouldnt have even been on the feckin road anyway. Couldve done with a day in the office playing catch up on my preplanning works.

  • 2 weeks later...

The idiot in a golf who decided to trundle along at 35 in a 60, up until the small place where i could pass, then floored it and ran a red light just to stop me getting past him.......totally pointless!!

I was going to a mate's place saturday morning, it was overcast, rainy, and generally unpleasant. The local MAMIL club were coming the other way, appearing out of the rain.

It was interesting to note that GoPro's outnumbered lights by about a factor of 3 to 1.

Yep - get loads round by us at the moment - I don't have an issue as long as I can see them but a lot of them do seem to have an issue with making themselves visible...   lack of lights or dark clothing on a dark day / evening.

I was never that stupid as a kid let alone now so why are they?

There was recently several brand new, HRA and line paintes cycle lanes added around our end of the town. And they function - ie they dont just magically vanish.

and yet groups of more than 2 MAMILs will cycle up the road lane, blocking traffic, literally inches from a dedicated cycle lane!!

These are probably the same planks who are incapable of being in the correct lanes at round abouts, dont stop at pedestrian crossings.. and will walk out in front of crs while on foot. They go through life, how not being taken out by an artic i dont know, believing they have the right of way and everyone else is wrong. Richards of the highest order

Driver on urgent job and

Toyota Prado wont start at work the other night.

Raced over there in another one so driver could get on with job. Then borrowed Hilux to go 5 miles for jump leads, started Prado, drove it to charge it up, returned leads - all good.

Today needed to send same Prado out for routine service and swap for another one in the interim.

Toyota Prado wont start at work this morning...Oh! FFS!  Got another, got jump leads, started, drove to vehicle swap, returned leads - had row with SWMBO for not taking her calls the whole time...

I hate Toyota.

Sitting at traffic lights I noticed a car pull up behind me that looked suspiciously like a mate's car.  It wasn't but the driver as soon as she'd stopped proceeded to pop spots on her face using the vanity mirror and then LICK HER FINGERS to clean off the puss!

Where's the brain bleach?

I was sitting in lane one of the A1(m) chllling at artic speed, in the rain and the spray. Anyway, the spidey senses kicked in and I noticed a car in lane 4 coming up fast on traffic. He decided to do a lane 4 to 1 and back to 4 undertake at ludicrous speed, regardless of whether I happened to be in lane 1 or not. Not sure if he was originally planning to use the shoulder as well, but I ended up 50% on there.

And was it some high powered car that can take being chucked around at 70+? Nope, was either an old shaped C1 or 107.
