Octavia III Facelift

Featured Replies

Can't say I'm a fan. But it doesn't bother me as this mk3 I've got is the last one I'll own.

With any luck the mk3fl if it doesn't sell as well may increase the price of the mk3.

Anyway I get the point about the inside spec and feel, it may make it worth the hideous front.

So any solid news on the VRS spec? It needs 240bhp+ in my opinion, the game has moved on. Oh and get rid of that stupid noise generator.

Sure it's been mentioned around here a fair bit - 245hp seems to be the the word on the street...don't know if it's 100% fact though.

Undecided at the moment.

Very much 50/50 with it. I suspect that due to circumstances this car may well be with me a bit longet than the 3 years originally envisaged.

I wouldn't get my hopes up about a digital instrument cluster for the Octavia. Skoda would have announced it already with the facelift. The most logical move would be to offer it for the flagship Superb starting with the 2018MY.

Well seat has already annonced that activ info display will be in the new Leon and also for the facelift of vw golf. The audi a3 has it so i am 100% sure the facelift octavia will have digital instrument but for MY 2018

I love the sound generator in mine. Adds a bit of fun to proceedings.

Each to their own of course, but I just found it annoying when I test drove one. I know you can turn it off, but I object to paying for something I really don't want. I've always been quite happy with the "real" engine noise my Mk2 FL TSi VRS makes anyway.

The mk3 TSI VRS (non-230) is virtually silent.

Unfortunately your are wrong. This is the new Octavia. You can see it confirmed on the official Skoda instagram

"It's an Octavia Jim but not as we know it"

I don't know if anyone has noticed, but the FL Octavia will offer the best infotainment system in the Skoda range - the best unit will have a 9.2" screen...not even the new Kodiaq seems to get that - Columbus unit is only 8".

I just got a mail from skoda sweden. The facelift octavia will have production start week 6 and from the start MY2018. The Virtual Cockpit will be available later in 2017. So they have confirmed activ info display for octavia facelift.

If you turn the noise generator off?

If you turn the noise generator off?

Mine came out of the factory without it - I think it is only on DSG cars and with mode selector button.

Either way, I don't complain about it - I don't like artificial noises, but do appreciate a big engine sound.

Buggr the size of the screen. The quality of the sound it makes is the big issue.

Yeah I agree...my 5.8" hooked up to Canton sounds pretty good, but it's all about perception. The Kodiaq will be the flagship of the Skoda range essentially, so seems strange you can get a better spec media unit on the Octavia.

Really? Sound generator is standard on the vRS in the UK, regardless of gearbox and engine. according to the brochures fro the past three years.

Ok. I'm glad that I was wrong. While I'm not a big fan of digital instrument clusters, I'm sure many people will go for it.

Well I test drove a manual 220 with it but I guess different markets may differ.

I'm beginning to think it looks OK in darker colours, but maybe that's just the lighting.

So if we are looking at week 6 on builds, anything ordered in December is likely to be a FL, yes?

Well having seen the pictures of the new facelift Octy 3, unless the VRS is going to have a different headlight assembly set up then I may have had my last Octavia. It's an opinion I know, but I don't like that front end with split headlights. It looks 'odd', dated and spoils the sporty look of the front end. This has now made it easier to move models or even manufacturers for my next PCP or PCH deal.

Anyone know if the canton is going to improve? It is the one thing that is putting me off ordering one. I don't mind the looks to be honest. I'll want the VRS so hopefully should have a few tarty bits to improve the looks.
