My 1 litre bottle of Bilberry has served me well but has now all gone.

 

Looking for a 5 litre container this time, cheapest I can find is £24.00 delivered.

 

Before I buy it is there anything better out there or is the Bilberry from ValetPRO as good as it gets?

Bilberry isn't an iron fallout wheel cleaner just a very good wheel cleaner.

That said Bilt Hamber Autowheels is a wheel cleaner and fallout remover in one and in incredibly good.

Autosmart have a similar product they brought to the market a year or so ago called Red7, but it works out half the price per litre compared to the Autowheels.

I'm down to my last two litres and can say it's been just as good as Autowheels.

I believe I paid £25-30 for five litres a few months back.

I'd highly recommend both.

Autowheels for performance,

Red7 for cost, and

Bilberry for if you just want regular wheel cleaning.

Ah, I didn't realise Bilberry doesn't have the iron contamination feature. I must say there is something strangely enjoyable watching it do it's stuff though!

 

I'm a big fan of Autosmart's Highstyle tyre dressing so I'm keen to try their Red7, saying that though the cheapest I can find it is £35.

 

I then searched for Bilt Hamber's Auto-Wheel, £60 for 5 litres so I believe every one of you who endorse it's performance. As a bit of a novice though it's out of my price range.

 

Think I'll wait for Black Friday to see if there are any deals around, I'm in no rush now my summer wheels are cleaned and away for the winter.

Do you know if it is acidic or non-acidic? I once used a product called Wonder Wheels which was effective but very harsh, over time it turned the laquer on my alloys yellow so I'm keen to avoid the acidic based wheel cleaners.

It's non acid, it's an alkaline detergent, here's some I found on other websites to clarify.

Espuma Revolution is a heavy duty wheel cleaner that employs a non-acid formula. Ideal for professionals, it uses a special blend of cleaning agents that are designed to remove baked on brake dust and general wheel grime. It is also safe for cleaning alloys.

Comes in a 5 litre bottle. The recommended dilution is 10 parts water to 1 part Revolution. It can be applied via low pressure hand sprayers or with a wheel brush. Leave on for a few minutes before thoroughly rinsing off.

I've been using Espuma Revolution since 2009 on all different types of alloy wheels, from chrome to gloss black wheels with no signs of any wheel corrosion whatsoever,

It's honestly a great product, I use a 10:1 ratio, 100ml Espuma & 1000ml water in a spray bottle & my alloys come up clean every time with no lacquer peel or damage, I have tried other wheel cleaners in the past but I always go back to Espuma purely for the reason that I know it's safe on my wheels, does a fantastic job with minimal effort & most of all it's a reasonable price to pay for 5L which will last ages.

If you do decide to buy a bottle, which I'm sure you will be more than happy after you have tried the product, just don't inhale while you are spraying the product on the wheels as it can be a very nasty smell, that is the only criticism I can say about Espuma.

This looks very good stuff and worth a punt at that price.  Don't forget, whatever you buy, you should be able to dilute it so your money goes further! Depends on how well you look after your wheels........why use a neat product if a 10:1, 20:1 or even greater dilution will do the job?!

While I like Red7. I don't think litre for litre it's a s good as BH Autowheels, but at half the price litre for litre you can afford to use a little more.

Autowheels is more no touch than Red7 also.

Iv used this on heavy contaminated wheels, and stripped them of lacquer also was diluted so be very carefull in use.

I use red7 over a whole car as part of a pre-mop session.  The wheels will have had a regular clean by then (with autosmart smart wheels) so what is left will only be what fallout remover is designed to shift, rather than wasting it on a whole brake dust ridden wheel.

RED7 is a budget product, for trade (because customers like the bleeding effect), it isn't as effective (by effective I mean I can still spray on Tim's version and it will "bleed" after using RED7, where as takes one hit with Tim's or BH or IronX) as Tim's, BH, IronX and others.

 

However, it is cheap so if price is a big thing for you....................

 

Bilberry is ok, but that's it. Unless you know the products well I would keep out of the way of the Espuma, it is a really strong wheel cleaner and not something I would use often. Smart wheels down at 10-1 is fine for a monthly clean if your not using a wheel product to protect them (be it a wax or sealant).

 

Don't forget to add a Tar remover as well, because you may find one you have cleaned the wheels you will find spots of tar.

 

So if you go AutoSmart, ring him up and get the RED7, Smart Wheels, Tardis and maybe Highstyle. You always decant into 1 Litre and see if local members want/need some.

It's not a bleeding fallout remover, but it is a fallout remover.

 

Does the same job without the colour change.

Iron X isn't a dedicated wheel cleaner. It does the job but It'll be extremely expensive doing it this way.

Personally I prefer to clean wheels with dedicated non acidic cleaners. Use a tar remover if needed, clean again, then follow with Iron X or fallout remover. Then seal.

Once that's done, fallout remover gets used once every 2/3 months if that.

It's a very expensive way of cleaning wheels.
