It would be nice to have the same options for the FL.

  • As a disabled driver, I would happily pay a reasonable amount for this.  The non availability drives me bloody mad.  Who in their right mind would design a facility to open the tailgate from inside, o

Thought so. I don't believe this is available for the FL.

For the sake of £30 might be worth a try, or if there is someone with a FL close to Suffolk I would be happy to plug in and have a look!

HI, is this service still available and does it work on all superbs with electric tailgates? thanks in advance

Hi. Not sure of anyone offering it as a service but you can do it yourself with coding so long as it’s not a facelift version. Have a read through some of the recent posts on this thread. There’s som instruction. But equally it’s possible to mess up the coding and the buttons not work properly. Can be a bit hit and miss.

What age is your car?

hi, its a 2017, ive tried it with vcds lite and pro but the number 4 drop down doesnt appear on my drop down, does it have to be long coded? mine is not kessy system

hi, i think my module number is 5Q0959107L, am i right in thinking the L isnt do able?

It depends on the dataset. @tombee has version L and managed to do it using carscanner based on some screenshots shared by others.

See this post and others in the thread around the same time.

thanks ill give it a look :) my other thought was get a non J OR L module cheap then long code it on then try it again ?

I’m not sure. I haven’t used vcds. I think it depends more on the dataset than the version of the module. Mine is J and works. @tombee is L and it works.

Yup although sometimes I don’t think it is, it’s not straight away it opens you have to hold the button down a few seconds for it to do the beeping and then open, same for it in reverse

Sounds like it’s set to “press” for open rather than “tap” for open. I have no idea how to change it thogh!

I am not too fussed currently might look into changing it at some point

Hi, are you still Suffolk based, I'm in Ipswich and I'd be happy to pay if you can get my bootlid sorted with your carscanner set up.

I am considering buying now also own VCP (Vag Can Pro) which can enable the hatch / tailgate to be able to be closed via the button inside the car by the DSG lever / gear stick.

HI @Gizmo im heading your way in november, is this something you can still do, mine is the L controller module , thanks in advance Al

Not sure if this is still something that you are doing. Mine is a 2019 and I was told the module couldnt be reprogrammed to enable close from inside. Mine is a 2019 and has the long press inside to open. Can mine be set to close from the inside as it is very annoying when you need to get out to close or use the keys.

Hi @Gizmo are you still able to do this, is there now an option for the L module? I do have a G module I can fit if that's able to open and close the electric tailgate on the fob and interior button, I'm heading your way in November on holiday and if you are about to message me and let me know that would be great, thank you.

Bugger 🤣, any idea if the L module is now do able? Also do you know if the module needs coding to the car to make it work properly?

  • Author

To my knowledge nobody has written a file for later controllers.

If your spare controller is s/h then there is a slim chance it may be coded correctly, but basically yes they need coding to your car.

The spare one is a G 5q0959107G, is that one that can be sorted once it's coded to the car?

Car scanner can be a bit hit and miss. I would advise that you go to the “use user defined bytes” at the bottom of the settings screen detailed below and take a screen shot or write them down so that you can revert to current settings if something goes wrong. I’m not certain that it will definitely get you back to where you are but hopefully so!

Select coding and service

Then luggage compartment

Then scroll to the bottom and choose tailgate dataset customisationIMG_0611.jpeg

Then click on choose other and select one of the superbliftback ones.

Then set the parameters you want and choose apply. (The open/close from remote should be selected and kick close for you)

You may need different settings if you have kessy or virtual pedal.

I have seen on another page that you have to hard reset through the long coding options for it to apply but it worked fine for me without this.

Easly done with carscanner, didn't had to choose other dataset version, just changed interior button option to allow open and close while ignition on and off. Closing with button pressed, opening tap button
