Ynys Mon has a wonderful legacy of wizardly things doesn't it?

Not just Bards and Seers and poetry competitions 

There is such a mysterious, deep and rich culture which may be lost from clear sight but has never left these lands, especially Ynys Mon 

(Ynys Mon is Anglesey for the anglo-saxons)

 

Would having a number plate with Welsh flag, Y Ddraig Goch, not help, or is that too tacky?

Because my work colleagues are not local and just reference Harry Potter. I loved the books but I cannot stand the films as they are totally different. I prefer plain registration plates myself and seeing as I have the 2 cherished plates, I will use one of those just because

@SashaGrace im getting the front vrs badge wrapped, gloss black cheap enough to do and no need to remove the badge ,hopefully i'll start this weekend on it.

That’d be good to see. I have no idea how you even remove the badge tbh, I’m torn between painting it or wrapping it. I have officially put my Mercedes up for sale now (sniff sniff) but on the plus once it’s sold I’ll have some spare cash to sink into some new wheels for the Octy. I’m pretty set on black VW Pretorias 8.5x19. Bentley wheels are costing too much  I will keep my Gemini’s as they seem not to have much value and will coat them in some decent winter rubber, do something with the finish, either paint the diamond bits black (or ideally a loud colour) or plasti dip them a nice colour, see how I feel  Gotta wait for it to sell in meantime...

I’m going for the CM Wheels ones, 8.5x19 set of 4 for £500 with loads of positive reviews and feedback (genuine Pret’s only come in 19 inch). I blow hot and cold with xtremes, they look good but the diamond finish rim gives me the same problem I have now so I’d have to have them all one colour (probably black) and none of the suppliers of rep rims do them all in one colour and by the time I’ve sourced a genuine set, budgeted a refurb in black and tyres it’s far far more than new Pretoria reps as for £500 you cannot go wrong IMO. I was originally going to paint my Gemini’s black but I’m not sure they suit the car, the design is too blocky and they look too small compared to the 19 inchers but that’s just me. The extra width allows them to run 235/35/19 tyres to really fill the arches and give good rim protection. Trouble is, that’s an OEM Porsche size and the tyres are quite pricey, but what price can you put on looking good? Says she who drives a diesel estate...

The front vRS badge on the grill is glued/welded and may leave a mark when taken off. Mine did.

Look forward to seeing what the new rims look like on your motor. I'm thinking of new wheels when funds allow, thinking of poss audi R8 copies.

All will be revealed later. They are still in the boot haha. Going to my Dads now to get the car clean and the wheels fitted  V10 R8 wheels would be a good shout...

Actually FWIW genuine Pretoria's are also available as an 18 inch version. However unlike the 19 inch version, they're cast rather than flow formed, so much cheaper

Anyway, those of you who are also on the #OvRSoc on Facebook will already know that last night I bagged myself a genuine set of Xtremes wearing Pirelli P Zero tyres with 4.5mm of tread on them for a bargain £350. They have some scuffing but nothing I can’t fix and I originally planned to refurb them black but the colour is darker than the Gemini’s and they look all the better for it. Maybe some sanding to the diamond finish and a grey touch up is all that will be needed?? Who knows.

The Xtremes look great and generally appear to be in good condition from the images at a distance! £350 is a bargain! 

They are OK, actually better than my Gemini’s with only quite light marks on the faces. The 2 I’ve put on the nearside are worse as they are more likely to get kerbed again, though hopefully not. The P Zero tyres are worth it for the price IMO, it needed new tyres and I’ve managed to collect the best of the 8 centre caps to get a set that holds up for now until I get a new set. Can’t belive my luck at £350, the barrels are all like new and they are the real deal, genuine and well balanced and they drive lovely on the car. Sounds quieter to my ear than the cheap crap tyres on the Gemini’s on the back.

Oh yeah, I had a refurbed set of 18 Gemini's prior to getting my 245 as I didn't want to spend an extra 50 or 60 quid a corner on 19" tyres.

 

But, the extremes drive so much nicer therefore, the Gemini's only spent 6 days on the car before I sold them

got yourself a proper bargain there! i love my extremes and get so many comments on  how nice they are, if you do get them refurbed stick with the diamond cut because its that bit thats makes them stand out for me, im also a fan of the pirellis they arent the greatest in the wet the thay have a really sharp turn in and feel sporty.

But im down to 2.5mm now and im going to replace them with falken fk510 they get really good reviews and have scored well in all the recent tyre tests and i can get them for 107 each fitted. just gives you something to think about.

Interesting, P Zero’s aren’t my first choice either, but they are still a good tyre. Will look at fk510’s when they need changing, thanks

That was the original plan, but mileage  Still have my N/A beast for now though
