Preattached double sided sticky tape i assume?

I do like subtle tweaks like this. Carry on with the good work

Yep, exactly that, thanks :)

As above, its fits the manual and it’s narrower than the DSG one but it still fits :)

Car has finally had a clean, the front brake pads changed (easiest brake job ever!) and the Maxton front splitter fitted. Ordered a Rieger for the rear as eBay has 10% off site wide right now. Looks much better :D

Another subtle addition to your car. Did the glue take long to cure?

Also, are the rieger rear diffusers the replacement part or a stick on? The one I've an eye on, which is on the superskoda site is a replacement for the standard rear section.

This one had holes already in it and tbh this bumper is so rough, a few extra holes won’t hurt it if I replace it for a better one so I just screwed it in will self tappers. The Rieger replaces the whole rear diffuser, the Maxton one sticks into the middle of the original one. I prefer the Rieger rear and I have a towbar so I really wanted the Rieger. I’ve been after one for a while and never found a used one with the towbar flap and the 10% off made it worth it.

so much better with the front splitter! you just need some side skirts now.

Don’t even!! I am tempted but I want to stick to front and rear for now haha

I'll lay a bet that - despite protests to the contrary -  before the year is out you'll have purchased a couple of nice side skirts for the Octy to wear for you.:tongueout:

You know it's gunna happen, you have a modding addiction and no willpower. :D

I dunno, we need another car on the fleet to replace the Citigo and I want to buy this one outright with the proceeds of the Mercedes so I need to slow down on non essential mods 😞

Is there such thing as an essential mod?? 😛

Yes!! Some mods are needed to make the car better, brakes were a good example, old parts needed changing so it made sense to upgrade when the brakes were due to be replaced :D

Sorry, I've just been having a butcher's on rieger's site at the rear diffusers. https://www.rieger-tuning.biz/results/0/0+cat=Spoiler:Heck/1

Which one are you looking at getting? And are you looking at getting a central diffuser insert such as this....http://www.superskoda.com/Skoda/OCTAVIA-III/Octavia-III-RS-rear-bumper-center-diffusor-Martinek-Auto-GLOSSY-black-Tow-hook-version

I’ve ordered this one

Sasha, this is page 69 of a thread about the mods you've already done, and those are just the ones to the Octy, I think slowing down isn't realistically going to happen.  Imagine yourself sitting with others, in a circle, on folding chair, now repeat the following phrase out lout, "Hello, My name is Sasha Grace, and I'm a Modaholic"

So since slowing down the mods isn't going to work out, you have a few options, 1) a part time evening job stacking shelves in the local supermarket to pay for the mods, 2) Running the Citigo into the ground instead of replacing, 3) Replacing the Citigo with a bicycle, or 4) Buy a SH Octy to replace the Citigo, then you can at least save some money by bulk buying your future mods.:D

  • Author

Citigo has been VT’d and is set to be replaced with a cheaper car outright, paid for by the sale of the Mercedes thus lowering the monthly outgoings for more mods :D well, it’s actually to save for another mortgage but that just sounds boring :)

Noo, you don't need another mortgage!  Sell the house and buy a caravan, it'll free up more money for mods.  You've got a towbar already, so you're good to go

Loving the new home screen and interface changes on iOS 13 CarPlay!! Beta is super smooth even at this stage. I really hope they allow third party maps on the home screen when they release in September, but even without that I love the changes in the music apps like Spotify. At last, something new in CarPlay 🤗

SashaGrace would you say this is a good price for the SKODA Octavia 3 Facelift MIB2 Display Screen Navigation 5E0919605 M - £325

  • Author

Not the best price but not the worst. They seem to have gone up a bit lately as more people are retrofitting radios. They were £200 or so not long ago. If it’s basically new and complete then I wouldn’t say no :)

looks great! is the new carplay wireless or is propriety hardware needed?

Any CarPlay version is wireless but it does need appropriate hardware, which none of the OEM Octy headunits have.

I thought one would have to use the cable? What hardware can you use to make it wireless?
