Wow! That KESSY a nice update, AS, but I suspect it’d be a big and expensive job?

Did u do the battery adaptation after changing the battery?

Necessary indeed with AGM batteries technology.

Surprisingly not as much as you may think

Without getting the handles painted I can offer it for my customers for around £250 in parts max, plus around 6-8 hours of labour.

of course doing it yourself is also an option to save on labour and the relevant guides can be found on Ross-tech :)

We now have rear kessy handles working as well as fully working rear door warning lamps!

I highly recommend the "Superb Ghost" lights from Kopacek as they add a nice touch, without loosing any shine on to the ground.

For those who have been experiencing the annoying "Travel Assist Unavailable" warning and the quite persistent loud bonging warning sound, a fix to this fault appears to have arrived. I had my vehicle undergo a new software update at the local Skoda dealer yesterday. Previously, Skoda were changing out the whole steering wheel in an attempt to fix the problem, but have now landed on a much quicker and less obtrusive software fix and have issued a general Service Recall. Took only 20 minutes (barely had time to finish my cappuccino in the dealer showroom). So far, no more warnings or bonging sounds, so looks like it's done the trick.

I wouldn’t have bet on that. Thanks for the tip!

Dont use the part numbers in the guide for the handles as they relate to a tiguan!

The wiring 6 pins + 2 grounds and the very easy coding is all that is required. Hardest part is running the wires properly and getting the handles painted.

Interesting upgrade, but not for all drivers…

I saw a guy locking his kessy equiped Audi Q2 few years ago. He touched the driver handle to lock it and wanted to check with rear handle but reopened his Q2, then relocked the car with driver handle and checked again with rear handle but opened again… I saw the guy getting nerved. He repeated this 5-6 times before letting the thing down, still nerved! 😂

Definitely not for owners suffering from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder…😂

Is there a formal recall notice # for this please?

Hard luck today.

My summer wheels only back on for 2 weeks, this afternoon on a very narrow country road, I had to pull over to the right to avoid a moron who was taking the whole road. And a bad combination of circumstances forced me to drive through a pothole at 80km/h.
I didn't have time to see it, and had no escape anyway...
As a result, the inner edge of my Right Front rim is flattened... At first glance, the depression is less than 5mm.

‘Fortunately’, I have no puncture and no vibration up to 90km/h (could not check above) and the steering doesn’t seem to pull to the right.

Really nerved! This guy drove like jerk, but I WILL pay the bill! 🤬

I´ll try to have the rim revealed. 😬

^^^^ Bad luck mate.
finally managed to fit the stop/start module a couple of days ago - works perfectly. It’s actually a bit disconcerting, having the engine not conking out at a junction 2 mins after a cold start!

I called 3 companies who only do rim repair.

Prices go from €100 (if the rim only needs to be revealed) to €500 (if the rim needs to be revealed and painted) 😱. It’s almost the price of a brand new rim from an official Skoda dealer.

I´ll definitely forget the latter repairer.

The ‘good’ news are:

- Painting is not systematically needed after revaealing.

- I should get my rim repaired on next friday if I give it on tuesday (monday is a day off in France). It shouldn’t be too annoying for me.

The ´bad’ news is:

Approximately 1 out of 300 rims cracks upon revealing operation… I hope mine won’t be the 300th one… 😰

If you do get a new wheel from Skoda be sure to get it from the accessories brochure as it’s much cheaper than a direct replacement from the normal part system

600km of french motorway to come home from holydays today. Impossible to go faster than 125 km/h, otherwise there are too much vibrations and rumbling 😬. I´ve set the ACC just before vibrations start to appear. I don’t want to damage front wheels bearings in addition. 😐

Repair is mandatory, for sure now.

Bl**dy moron and pothole! 😬😬

Back in October I had my first ever chip in my windscreen, out of view thankfully but got it repaired by Autoglass then in March I noticed the repair had another hairline crack so rang Autoglass thinking they could repair it again, nope whole new windscreen required.

I told the person I wanted OE replacement and he went on his way because he had a non genuine, he said he’d let AutoGlass know then a week later it was organised again to fit a new windscreen and was a different brand yet again, I said no again.

Then it got reorganised for today and it’s genuine 😁 so that’s going in now

I also bought some new wipers as still on the good 2016 originals but best time to change them

Bosch wipers are the most silent I´ve tested, especially for the rear one on my estate version.

I replaced the rear with a Bosch one as the rear wiper made a horrible sound and yeah it was silent again, so I bought Bosch fronts too but I’ll fit them after Autoglass guy goes just so I know the old ones still work okay after windscreen replacement.

New ones I got is A864S but there was another one for my car so hoping I got the right ones first time

speaking of windsreen I hit a pheasant and cracked the windscreen but could be worse and bend the roof wich was not the case.

feel sorry for the bird tho

A pheasant flying on its own accord is surprising.

If your insurance uses AutoGlass insist on an OE windscreen, I did after reading the pain people have gone through on here.

I’m still not sure how Autoglass make money because the chip repair was done which I guess they claimed from my insurance, but as the work is warrantied the complete replacement was free and Skoda OE stamped which wouldn’t be cheap

At least yours got sorted nice and straight forward!

Ive been waiting over a month for autoglass to arrange my genuine screen, and now they have finally ordered it, it’s on back order indefinitely…. That’s really useful for me lol

We had a winscreen replaced (on my wife´s 207 CC at that time) by a french equivalent to AutoGlass (carglass indeed). But unsatisfied with wind screen quality and also poor job care (glue spots on bodywork, seal around the wind screen not ´stuck’ to the bodywork at upper corner).

Since that time, when I need to have a windscreen replaced, I go nowhere else but official dealers.

I'm not sure if AutoGlass operate in Romania.

I regularly use the A40 from Brecon to Abergavenny and there used to be many pheasants on the road around Glanusk Estate and I've hit two in the past in my last Superb; one glanced off the windscreen without damage and the other stepped out of a hedge in front of me and I saw it in my mirrors coming out underneath the car.  The latter one left a small crack on the plastic grill low down but it was hardly noticeable, so I was lucky on both occasions (well, luckier than the pheasants!).

The pheasants on the Glanusk Estate seemed to have disappeared in the last couple of years, but I don't know why or what has happened to them.

I had my rim repaired today. Fortunately the guy had no appointment with any customer and he took it immediately.

The "dent" was 8.8mm and the rim deformation on the inner edge even 'pulled' on the outer edge. The guy was not sure to succeed 😟.

But he nevertheless managed to bring it back into the tolerances (max default shall not exceed 0.5mm) :

It's not 100% perfect, I can still feel a very light vibration, but I can hopefully drive again on french motorways at maximum legal speed and even slightly above.

It will then give me some weeks/months to look for a new 'dent free' rim.

Today I fitted RHD DSG brushed metal pedals with the following part numbers

5Q2721647A

5Q0723131A

20230510_074117.jpg

The acceleration pedal was extremely tricky to fit.

Trick to use hot water to make the rubber soft and a trim removal tool so you can pry it onto the accelerator.

The brake was a doddle as just popped off and on.

This now has the Sportline/Monte Carlo look

Clarification of work

Bloody thing kept sliding off when I was on the M6 Toll last year. 🙄 Bloody dangerous. I had to buy some superglue in the services and stick it on. Thankfully, its been fine since.
