After doing the gear knob yesterday I saw how dirty the interior was so this morning after doing my wife’s Mini, I set to work on the inside of mine.

Chucked a bucket of water over it. Three hours later this is the result.         Happy with that

Picked up the car after getting all four wheels refurbished. After 10 years the phoenix anthracite alloys were showing the usual diamond cut issues, particularly around the hubs so I had them powder coated in silver instead. Ignore the wheel caps - I'm swapping those for new ones tomorrow.

Something I’ve wondered with this. Do they loan you four spare wheels while they refurb them or do you leave the car with them during the work?

It’s cleaner than mine when I took it from the dealer 🤣

I think it depends on the company as one I initially considered using had loaner wheels but with the one I used I dropped the car off on Wednesday morning and picked it up on Thursday afternoon.

That’s a nice quick turnaround.

The company local to us can do it which ever way, you take the car there and leave it, then do the wheels and then refit, there lead time is about 1.5/2 days currently

Or you can take the wheels to them and then collect when finished

Thanks started to do this on the cars I detail now haha

Thanks, my dealer no longer does the clean now, as when it went in I said not to clean it and they advise they no longer do that service.

Thank goodness as them Skoda dealer is at the groups Audi dealer with an RS6 outside with bird poo on and a brand new RS3 in the showroom with swirl marks and scratches all over it

I had quality time in the garage. I cleaned haldex filter which is not in service program.

After 175000km It looks like this. With fresh filter I might have helping rear axle. With this glogged filter 4mo was only frontwheel driven.

Good job.

Mine looked like that after 12k miles so it may be that I have a heavy right foot.

Upgraded my OBD module and had a play with some basic coding using CarScanner App.

Successfully applied:

Increased cut tower indicator flash to 5

Increased headlight washer interval to 20

Turned on eyelashes with DRL (but didn’t work as I have the A part number lights) So turned this off again to avoid errors

According to the coding I also turned on teardrop wipe for front and rear but haven’t seen any behaviour change on the drive. Does anyone know if this works on MY2016 superb and what the criteria for it to occur is?

I meant courtesy indicator increased to 5. It’s quite annoying you can’t edit posts!

Yes, you can edit your posts; simply click on the 3 dots in the top right corner of your post and select the last option (Edit) and away you go, make your changes and then scroll down to the bottom of your post and click on "save", job done

I don’t have that option. I just have report or share. I wonder if it’s a paid feature.

Please about with coding a couple more bits after reading through the list of options last night.

Today I’ve done:

Changed autohold and hill hold to “early” and it’s transformed the car. No more jerks when coming off autohold at all.

Blower level when on auto

Refuel quantity on dash

I also tried to code for wipers to park when ignition turned off. Code accepted but no change. So wipers seem stubborn to the settings.

Also tried to add wiper service position to MMI menu but that hasn’t taken either.

What device do you have now, as been thinking about getting Carly, be nice to code the boot to shut via the button inside

I’ve got carscanner app and this module

https://amzn.eu/d/04FdvU9n

Don’t think boot close can be coded on this. I would like to have that too. It would appear that there is options for long coding which might let you do it but I’ve not been brave enough to venture into that menu.

Dont use Carly, i have buy it with all inklusive and it's the worst tool of all that I've ever used.

Thanks, OBD11?

I don’t have a Windows device only Mac and iPhone, hence why these products

Played about some more and there was a strange misspelled setting for “whiper” park when ignition off that was active. Changed this to inactive and now the other things I set for wipers seem to work. Teardrop front and back and they continue to park position when ignition turned off. Happy with that.

Does anyone know if it’s possible to Put wipers into service position from the MMI menu on mib2? It doesn’t seem to have worked so I’ll deactivate that just in case it causes any funny errors.

You can do the wipers into maintenance mode from the ignition switch

Yes I know that. Just interesting that it’s a potential menu option so was trying it out.

Looks like it’s Audi only.
