Just filled my tank up. £102.23 for 66 litres. First time ever in nearly 30 years of driving that I've spent over £100 of a fillup. Come close a few times, but never gone into three figures.

I might go and have a lie down, it's a lot to take in 🤣

That price seems very reasonable (to a diesel driver), works out at about £1.545/litre - imagine how us diesel drivers feel, I saw some this morning at over £2.00/litre, but generally around the £1.90/litre, the same 66 litres would be over £125 (although my average economy is pretty good which partly goes towards cancelling the higher price out- luckily).

All back to standard again, original wheels back on, sub removed, spare wheel removed, rear window blind removed and all my junk taken out, there was an awful lot of that.

She going "bye bye's" next week, new Skoda incoming so if anyone wants any of the take-offs you better shout, as I'll be moving to another section. I will be loosing the "cooled" seats & heated screen but gaining a HUD and a massaging seat.

This one should be up for sale in Newbury, Skoda for way more than they gave me no doubt, but I got a good "overall" deal so not complaining.

So if anyone is looking for a nice Dec2023, 280, this is it, not a mark on her, and only 2500 miles (low due to illness)

Where did the sub mount and how was it connected to the stereo?

Filled mine up today. £99 plus a few pence at 189.9p per litre. Painful.

Sub was hooked up to both the feeds that connect to the OEM sub, connecting to the "speaker" level inputs on my sub.

Standard sub has a dual coil woofer so one coil feeds the left IP, the other connects to the right, works perfectly. The original sub works as normal too.

Ah ok. Guess you have the canton system. I was hoping it was an add on sub to the standard system!

You have MIB 2 Low or High?

Took all the wheels off for a good clean and wax for his 10th birthday

For his 11th birthday I’m thinking of getting wheels refurbed.

I’ve got Sirius wheels but thinking not to get them diamond cut like original and just get them fully resprayed in its normal silver colour.

I know people have done this but anyone regretted it? Tbh sometimes I can hardly tell it’s diamond cut as mines not the anthracite + diamond cut, quite a difference in refurb cost too

When it came time to sort my wheels out I got my L&K Trinity 19" diamond cut wheels powder coated gloss black to match the car paintwork. Cheaper than getting the wheels refurbed & diamond cut to the original spec & powder coating is a more durable finish.

Also makes the car look a bit meaner.

Took a wheel off to test fit the new black centre caps. Non OEM so expected they would need some fettling. Nothing a few rounds of insulation tape on the back side won’t fix.

First time using positioning pins for installing the wheels. What a game changer! I also ordered a 1/2” drive adaptor for my drill as I don’t own an impact. That’s a revelation too. Very useful for running nuts in once started by hand, and out and also operating scissor jack. Effortless to lift the car

My centre caps are fitted with the optional tape trick as well. Been on for years now because I wasn't sure what diameter my wheel centres were (56,57,58mm) when I ordered replacement caps.

Fitted new black ŠKODA centre caps today. Didn’t look right with the slightly pale grey but caps so got some Matt black nut caps to match.

The centre caps are slightly larger and stand slightly proud compared to OEM but I like the cleaner non-chrome (and non corroded!) look.

Links will be on my project page.

IMHO, the center cap on the right doesn't seem to be an OEM one. The 'chrome part' looks too flat and the feathers don't have the right shape. I fear it's a low cost counterfeit, that you can get on Ali or Temu... but it does a good job of imitating the original in terms of corrosion... 😂

Yes I did wonder that as it’s quite different to the ones on my wife’s MY21 kodiaq. They do have the part number and “made in Germany “ on the back not that that counts for much!

Counterfeiting a P/N is not the hardest part for these kinds of manufacturers 😆...

Some sunshine and a bit of downtime meant I could continue with the chrome delete project. I decided to start wrapping the chrome around the windows. Not too bad of a job and I’m really pleased with the result. Slow and steady is the secret. And gentle applications of heat in key spots.

Drivers side all done. But I’m now out of scalpel blades so have ordered some up and will hopefully finish the other side tomorrow.

I followed this guide which is good for the basics.

It looks nice!

Thanks. Looking forward to getting a chance to change the roof bars too as I think will really finish it off.

Not today, but finally found the way how to convert seat unit from 5Q0959760B/C/D/E/F to 3Q0 with lumbar massage

About an hour of soldering, then firmware, and we get a unit with a massage

Starting to look at my new (to me) 2017 L&K Superb.

First job was to investigate the dash cam wiring left by the previous owner - as suspected they had done a **** poor job and put the cable across the curtain airbag. I can't believe anyone thinks that this is a good idea.

That’s just the trouble, People don’t think!

I’m always super paranoid working around airbags and routing cables. It takes no more than a few minutes extra and some small Cable ties to be sure.

2nd job was to fit the dog guard and divider.

I was marvelling at how big the boot was and then I put the dog in the car.

Good thing you don't have a pair of Danes!

Yeah Peter Schmeichel and his son would hardly fit at all.

DSG service and brake fluid change carried out by the local VAG independent specialist. No obvious issues with DSG based on how the oil looks. Hopefully hasn’t suffered too much from missed services by previous owners. That’s now all the major mechanical servicing done so I’m happy I haven’t bought a complete lemon!

Check out VW Audi Workshop if you’re in the area!

I got a chance to fit my DIY colour matched badges today. Look much better. Really pleased with the clean look now. IMG_1650.jpeg
