Did another DSG adaptation today. Since the DSG service the car has felt a bit sluggish and a noticeable jerk in and out of 1 & 2, and up changes even when at constant speed.

So tried again with the adaptation following some tips from @AL2772

Now it is silky smooth and holds the gears nicely. Very happy with the result.

Also loaded up with ceramic tiles for our new utility room. It turns out 180kg in the boot is just the right ride height. I think an Eibach pro kit might be the next big purchase once the builders are paid!

Out of curiosity, what is the DSG adaptation process u performed?

The Eibach Pro-kit Springs will finish off the look of ur car nicely.

I use the car scanner App. And in the service menu there is DSG adaptation for DQ250. You do 45 seconds with engine off then about 2 minutes with engine on and you get all the clonks and whirring. I’m assuming it’s the same as OBD11 and VCDS in that it resets all the bite points and clutch pressures. I tried it before then doing the drive in odd and then even gears but it didn’t seem to learn the right kind of characteristic of driving for me. @AL2772 advised that once I had done the programming to drive it hard in D and that seems to have taught it the gear changes I like.

I’ve got a couple of service jobs and a little project to work on with it first. Pro kit for the future at some point I think.

Having said this I’ve just found pro kit on auto doc for £170….

35mm front, 30mm rear, unless you have DCC in which case its 25/20 as its already a little lower

I think I should of gone with these as mine sits a little higher with the newer bits on

Well I’ve finally been able to start playing with the car ,, after trying to find out what fuses do what I started looking on eBay, saw a fuse box for a 2017 Superb for £10 so bought it… I worked out if I made a Y piece out of 3 of the wires from the eBay fuse box and using another wire I could sort out the little niggles

So by I made a Y piece about 4“ long and pushed the terminals into the 3 yellow Xs and then put another terminal with a longer wire ( which I put a bullet connector on into the blue X

This meant I could move the 20a down and make the cigarette sockets in the car Ignition live instead of constantly live,

The X next to the 10a fuse is the ignition supply so I put a 25a fuse in to power the cigarette sockets and the other connector which will supply the dash cam

Huh?

You could just use fuse jumpers off ignition live row or constant live row depending on your requirements.

yep thats true for most things, i was going to do that for the dash cam, but when i realised that the ciggerette sockets were perm live and that i could add one "jumper wire" and a fuse to make the ciggerette sockets ignition live ( and i was taking out the glovebox to put the wiring in for the RVC) on my previous car i needed more fused items so i used a piggy back fuse to trigger a relay to an additional 6G fuse box😇

@tombee - As above, approx. 25mm with DCC shocks as they r already 10mm lower than standard shocks.

Loaded up once again. This time with about 150kg of flat pack units to fit out the new utility room. Including some panels at 2.6m long! I did put the roof bars on just in case but managed to squeeze them inside by reclining the passenger seat right back and feeding them through onto the dash.

I do miss the ability to drop the passenger seat from my old V70R. Also miss the boxiness of the boot - not sure the Superb could get 4 * 18" wheels + tyres without dropping the seats.

(I do not miss the fuel bills or the funny looks I'd get when trying to navigate tight car parks)

I confirm you can fit 4x 19" wheels/tyres in the Superb Estate boot. Very convenient.

but 20" 9j you cant fit 4 in a row :D

8j will fit no problem

last time i was transporting 4m long WPC boards, as @Binx1310 i also folded passanger seat and pushed them under the dash as they were pretty flexible, little bit overhang at the back but all went well

@nick6262 @Kosin Shame or not, I have to say I didn't know the passenger seat can be folded on S3.

I'm with electric driver seat and manually-adjustable passenger's. So most likely I can do it as well.

there's an option for a fold flat seat - but I think not many people took it or no-one knows about it

Not a car change as such, just a Superb doing what it's great at, 4 people, a boot full of luggage and two bikes going on holiday in complete comfort and still managed mid 40's mpg.

you have to move the seat forward and remove headrest (if you have sportline not possible i guess)
