Bought some new Bosch wiper blades. Factory fit ones are starting to drag/squeak. A bit irritating given the current weather.

I've fitted new bosch wipers, and the sqeak is still there. Most annoying. 😕

I think you need to give the glass a repeated damn good clean...and I do mean GOOD clean over and over again. A bit of a pain but that's what I did to successfully get rid of the `squeak` that I had.

Note: I used a DA to help out. Made it a little easier.

Hi all,

I've trained a bit for the 'Land Rover G4 Chanllenge😄

img_2391-5719429.jpg

Here after a brief cleaning... But wayyyyyy far from a real detailing 🙄...

img_2405-5719431.jpg

I also took time to clean the engine bay, because I wanted to spray rodent repellent all over, since we had severe damage on several engine harnesses of my wife's Audi Q3.

img_2407-5719440.jpg

Finally, I've made this small modification, to protect the top part engine against dirt. I'll see if it's efficient after some thousands of km...

I'll make you some feedbacks if it works. ;)

img_2408-571944f.jpg

Bought this rubber seal (D-shape 112x14mm) on Amazon for ~15€.

Nice work, you'll have to keep us posted on if it works! I am sure it will. Thanks for the info about the material!

Big day for the Skoda,

First of all I picked up new floor mats for her, the old ones had been totally ruined after many many miles of use. I went to my local Skoda dealership and they did me a fantastic deal on the Premium floor mats which look excellent!

I then completed a full detail on the car, tar removal, clay bar, polish on body work and glass. I think the finished result is very good. I am biased though!

I'll have to upload the images separately because this forum is awful for uploading pictures....

What compound did you use for that process?

I used Gtechniq G4 and a medium pad on medium speed.

This stuff, it's fantastic.  Been using all sorts of products over the years and this feels like a game changer. So much gloss and longevity with so little effort, and its not expensive either.

That's shameful a real wheel/tyre killer if you hit it in the dark.

Yes, in the dark, ****ing rain - it was invisible to the eye...

@Dakr Sure, I'll make feedbacks after some thousands of km. Roughly 2000 km before next overhaul (45000). ;) I'll have a first impression at this time.

MartiniB - thanks for the info regarding the battery mate.

I have all that info ready to go when I look to replace mine soon also.

Surprised that you were able to get the original fitted battery replaced under warranty...

As for the Air Quality Sensor; what symptoms was it displaying to require the change?

I assume your superb is (like mine) a model without AIRCARE.

Was it just that it wasn't switching over to Auto Recirculate?

Keen to know, as I also feel that mine fails to "eliminate" poor odours from outside, unless I press the recirculate button.

I think I want a remap on my 2.0 TDI 150. Is it worth it even for my car?

I had a remap on a 2013 Octavia with that engine and makes a big difference. Stock was 147bhp went to 186bhp (Vrs diesel on 181bhp) and torque should have been 236lb/ft but was actually 246lb/ft which went upto 317lb/ft. Just to give that some context my current 360bhp Superb produces 378lb/ft. The Octavia could average 71mpg before the map and still managed 70mpg on the 138 mile drive home. Top speed increased from the standard car's 135mph to 150mph. All this 16" alloys and 205 tyres LOL.
