I've got 56 plate VRS - now done 1000 miles in the first 3 weeks and yes it's got the stuttering......

Test drove an 06 plate one at the dealer and it had no stuttering...

It's not enough to drive me mad - suppose some are worse than others - it's light throttle between 1500-2000 rpm that does it.

Dealer eventually said there was a fix - new metal EGR gasket, so I asked for it to be done. However have since phoned me to say this is now withdrawn, factory looking for a new solution as this sends the emission sky high?

It would be nice if it wasn't there, as otherwise it's the nicest car I've ever had. I'm sure the fuel computer is wrong though, says my average over the 1000 mile is 61 mpg! However, I do a lot of long distance motorway stuff late at night. But 61 !!! it'd be great if that was the case!

Interesting; I thought from the start that reducing the EGR would raise the NOx beyond Euro IV limits. Strange it didn't occur to Skoda UK. Will they be recalling the cars they've modified so far, I wonder?

My trip computer is 20% optimistic BTW. Recorded 60mpg is under 50mpg by the brimming the tank method.

Can admin merge this topic into the other one about exactly the same subject??

I have had mine a week 56 plate and now done 250 miles and definately a stutter when changing down from 4th to 3rd (not a stutter more like a jump)

SWMBO's has done just over 700 miles and i noticed the dreaded stutter the other day. it hasn't happened when i've been driving, YET, although i must admit i don't apply light throttle very often :D :D :D !!!!!

She's going to be in touch with our dealer a.s.a.p. about the following:-

1) The stutter

2) The gear lever rattle

3) A creaking steering column/pedal box

Other than those she couldn't be happier, she's just waiting for the speeding tickets to come flooding in    !!!

Yes, mine does stutter, but I tend not to have the engine in that rev band 1800-2000rpm so it's not really a problem for me. Very occasionally, if I'm downshifting then I'll get it - very obviously a stutter.

The Yanks call it 'bucking' on their TDis - mine has got better with age - now on 17,000 and its almost stopped. when i first got the car it was dreadful when crusing at about 60 - 70 mph.

Mine does it but it's an 04 model..........

Got better after remap too, but that could have been coincidental as the milage increased.

Add me to the list im well miffed with my stuttering 06 it has 5000mls and still no signs of letting up. thought a dragon box would maybe cure it but it's just the same ,dealer is aware and so is skoda and advise me they are looking into the problem and when they fix it they will contact us unlucky 06 owners

Add my name, mine's getting worse. Bit disconcerting when SWMBO is a nervous passenger (after some old duffer ran into the back of her stationary Fiesta at around 50mph, shoving her into a truck in front...) and the stutter doesn't exactly help her relax. Nor me, in fact, because even the "bing" for the washer-fluid-low warning scared the carp of her, which then made me jump, which then made her jump... you get the idea.

Yep. 06 plate 4 weeks old and the stutter is still there. If you are contemplating buying one DO NOT untill this is fixed. It`s a great car oh yeagh, but this issue should have been resolved 5 months ago. Skoda UK are aware of this, dealers are aware of this, Briskoda members are aware of this. I was a fan of this brand having had a Fabia before for 3 years, but this is really spoiling the consumer experience.

Avoid or get an earlier model. I.E 05 04 or 03.

Over and out!

My 2 pennys worth

Are you sure she should be driving? I understand she may be shook up but she may be a danger to other drivers on the road?

I dunno if my names on 'the list', but whack it on anyhow.

You can add me! Anyone got squeaky power steering aswell?

Hi there,

Clocked up 2,500 and have experienced a few stutters.

Rob

She doesn't own a car any more, she's not got a need for one. But that doesn't stop her unnerving me when I'm driving.

i have had my new '06' fabia vrs and experienced the problem a couple of times.

i put it down to the car being brand new (my 1st) and am very happy with it. I like driving it and will not be complaining to my supplier. will mention it out of curiosity though next time im in there.

i have managed to clock up 500 miles in 5wks and i lurrrrrrrvvv it.

but my '04' reg fabia vrs didnt appear to do it, hmmmm.

thanks.

Mine has an occasional hesitant throttle at around 2k rpm, doesn't really bother me.

I've done just over 2000 miles in 5 weeks in mine. ;) :P

sweet neily, best car i owned. wont be getting rid in a hurry either.

I've just rang SUK for an update, they are expecting to hear from the factory about a fix in about two weeks time.
