Vettel spins on lap 1 and blames his team tactics and watches his young number one Ferrari team mate finish 4th. Forecast for Barcelona next Sunday 30C so should suit RBR again if the Merc continue with tyre management.

I think it will depend on which tyres Pirelli bring along.

Depends which team they want to win 😉

Indeed the hardest Pirelli compounds are in use at Montmelo C1C2C3.

Mercedes will be relieved with that tyre choice for Barcelona.

Maybe the issue was Siverstone specific. Merc have already won 3'races on the C2 C3 C4 option this year.

Probably as Bottas was warned about over heating left front and rear tyres with all the right hand corners (also high speed corners) at Silverstone.

McLarens appeal against Racing Point has been dropped.

I saw a photo of Wolff chatting to Brown at Silverstone Sunday.

Caption must have been "How slow will your car's be next year with no engines fatty?"

Williams now withdraw appeal against Racing Point, so all the Mercedes teams are aligned.

Only Renault who started it, and Ferrari (who cheat anyway) left in.

RedBull not getting involved, apart from Horner sniping at Mercedes as usual.

I think RedBull Racing probably have plenty to hide about copying - what with both their teams being supplied by (marginally) 3rd party company Red Bull Technology.

Perez fit to drive at Montmelo.

Welcome back Checo.

FIA attempting to slow down Mercedes on all fronts.

Party mode for qualifying banned after this weekend.

Whose idea was that? Ferrari or RedBull?

Also the money saving 2020/21 carry over rules are now being amended to reduce car downforce ( because Pirelli can't make a tyre for Silverstone ). Ludicrous - millions of pounds will now be wasted redesigning the cars that were supposed to do 2 seasons unchanged. Why not make Pirelli spend some money instead of the teams?

Perhaps the FIA should give the 2021 tyre contract to Michelin and request a tyre that can last more than 10 laps (35 miles)?:whew:

Friday RedBull race pace right there with Mercedes. Qually maybe not, still a second off, but Sunday should be good.

Mercs should have most of their advantage back as they are allowed to drop back down to 23 psi from 27 psi.

A pressure of 25 or 26 psi would have perhaps kept things interesting, shame.

MIN. STARTING PRESSURES (slicks) EO CAMBER LIMIT

Lewis top in FP3 with a 1.17:2 then Bottas with 1.17:3 and Max 3rd with a 1.17:7. Wonder whether Kevin in the HAAS will get a penalty for causing Ocon to crash in the Renault towards the end of the session?:mmm:

So much for the crack they found in his Silverstone chassis. They just need to remove the bigger problem attached to the steering wheel. Qualifying matches FP3 with Lewis taking a close Pole from his team mate (so Lewis now 4 Poles this season to Bottas 2) and Max best of the rest in 3rd. Racing Points fast again in Q3.:mmm: Hamilton's 92nd Pole Position of his career with his 150th front row start.

I think the only crack they found in the car is the crack in Vettel's character and perhaps a loose nut on the steering wheel.

Istanbul and Jerez possible additions to the 2020 schedule in November according to much of the motoring media. Both great tracks.

LeClerc DNF on lap 41 pretty boring race as usual at Barcelona with easy win for Lewis and a record 156th podium finish for him overtaking Schumacher long standing record. Max the closest rival again. Bottas with a free 3rd stop bags the extra point for fastest lap and 3rd place. Rude not to mention Racing Point finally bring home some good points for 4th and 5th converting their good qualifying pace at last.

88th Win for Lewis in his 256th race in F1 now just 3 race wins from matching the all-time record of Michael's 91 total.
