Mercedes appeared to have the tyres under control this week. Red Bull appeared to be struggling. What a difference a week makes.

Vettel stormed to seventh place and only a lap down.

Vettel only slowed down so that he could wave at Lewis and say well done before the race was over AKA social distancing the whole field except the podium drivers. :whew:

Speculation growing that Wolff will replace the dubiously competent Carey as F1 CEO. Signs are that Toto is leaving Daimler-Benz at the end of this season or next.

Qually/Party mode ban delayed until Monza.

Hamilton says that in fact it's so bad for the engine life that not using it for the usual 5 laps a meeting will actually let him run higher than normal power for 25 race laps.

WILLIAMS SOLD to American investors.

All 10 F1 Teams sign the 2021 Concorde Agreement and the home of Pierre Gasly near Rouen, Normandy was burgled as he raced at the Spanish Grand Prix. Those lovely French criminals don't even respect their own Sporting Hero's.:notme:

Sounds more like North West England rather than Normandy.

Fabinho's place was done over while he was celebrating Liverpool's title win at Anfield.

Turkey confirmed rather than Jerez, so we have ended up with a 17 race calendar.

I must say sorry for doubting the Chief Executive a few months back.

Renault abandoning Racing Point appeal. Ferrari the only ones left.

Not much learned from FP1 or 2. Big 3 all covered by a tenth in Fp1 ( and Perez).

Super well done by Renault and Ricardo getting second fastest time of the day.

Ferrari were dire.

Hope there are taking the opportunity during covid to improve the facilities which I rate as the worst I have experienced at any major track though its 7 km length is some excuse I suppose.

Ferrari P17 and P20 in FP3. I don't think they've been this 5h1t since 1980's 312T5.

Ferrari have obviously sorted out the 'crack' in Vettel's  brain chassis as BOTH Ferrari's have been outstanding in practice at Spa.

FP1 Ferrari's 14th & 15th

FP2 15th & 17th

FP3 17th & 20th (out of 20)

On average they are running 1.5 - 2.0 seconds a lap slower than the lead car.

Monza next weekend,I expect Ferrari are relieved that the tifosi won't be in the circuit.

I wonder if Sainz is checking to see if his Ferrari contract has a 'get out' clause.

At least they can't DNQ here.

In Canada 1980 even the genius of Villeneuve only qualified 22nd and reigning World Champion Scheckter was 26th and didn't make the 24 car field.

...and they still got the biggest payout in the newly signed Concorde agreement, and retained their stupid power of veto over the rules.

Yeah, politics eh. F1 without Ferrari would be like Christmas without Santa.;)

Both Ferrari's out in Q2, 13th & 14th about 1 second behind the lead car.

Corrected that for you 😃

I think Red Bull Racing would fill that gap.

Epic new lap record (twice) by Lewis and smashed his own team mate by half a second sends a loud message which will not be lost on Bottas and his confidence.

SO... exactly just how much were Ferrari cheating last year please FIA?

2019 Grid 1-2

2020 Grid 13-14

not to mention all the Ferrari customers in grid slots 16-20...

And they still get more money and a rules veto.

Frankly, F1 survived the passing of dominant superteams from Alfa, Maserati, Vanwall, Lotus, Brabham and Tyrrell.

It would go on without Ferrari too.

Why should this bunch of cheats still get preferential treatment?

Insiders reckoned it is fuel flow that Ferrari were cheating over ie they had found a way so circumvent the fuel flow measuring which was due to measure fuel usage ie 100 kgs/hour, with a sampling interval of less than a millisecond.   50 hp difference apparently 2020 to 2019.

Do not know if Ferrari were using a plenum chamber but this is what I suspect they had found a way to do this and now this has been discovered and is under close scutiny.

I suppose the fact Ferrari is the only team that has been there since the start is getting them leeway.  Red Bull must be particularly aggrieved since they were done for fuel flow irregularities 6 years ago.

Add this to the oil burning not in the spirit of the competition.

Mercedes separation of the turbo of the impellor and compressor in the same housing remains the stand out innovation IMO.

Think they borrowed the exhaust from the Ferrari 2019 parts bin as smoke in the cabin on the drive to the grid forces Sainz to  retire before the race starts.😩

Ferrari current policy of socially distancing themselves from Mercedes working well as Charles on softs has gained no places and 30.9 seconds behind the leader and Seb close behind on mediums only 32.0 seconds behind after 10 laps. Both should be lapped by Lewis before lap 30 at this rate.:tongueout:
