  • thread update.   thanks to Mo, we've got part numbers for the Sedan. unfortunately there is only one supplier identified thus far, and its too bloody expensive - https://www.skodaautote

I disagree, I think the new rear lights freshen the car up quite nicely...

Well some coding to do to get the taillights to their proper brightness (something called dimmwert needs to be changed from 100 to 127), but I'll do that once the rain stops

Hi Guys, I'm from Germany and did the FL rear light conversion in 2019. Everything works except for this light animation. When opening it is only not possible when closing. And as soon as the PWM signal is present, the indicator no longer works dynamically. Does anyone have the coding to do this? What else do I have to code in the central electrics?

I suspect that it probably requires a replacement controller module with a newer version to program the coming home animation, but I'm not sure. You did this wire up to the front of the car for the pwm signal also? I prepared it at all 4 lights but didn't connect it to the front yet because its working fine without, and I want to understand what exactly the pwm signal does first, and what controllers might be needed for it to work right.

The PWM signal is applied to the BCM, as described in the circuit diagram. With the xenon, it cannot be connected to the front lights, but only with the matrix, as there is a light module there. Hence the assumption that it will not work as it should without this module. Animation when opening works, but the blinker is no longer dynamic.

So far, the animation only works when I open the car. When locking, the light just goes out. The blinker is dynamic while driving and also acts as a hazard warning light. So for now a partial success.

Welcome!

It might be worth asking your question here as you'll get more eyes on it. If it's not related to swapping tail lights, you should start a new thread.

Fantastic! Seems you don't have there the strip. How you managed to remove the strip? Is it easy to do? It does not leaves any ugly marks/holes etc?

the chrome/black strip r a separate piece, and is part of the boot handle/RVC/number-plate lights trim.

looks like this.....

@JR RS I know, but the outer lights have the strip separated and mounted directly on them, look at the photo of it:

Can the strip be removed from this outer light?

The outer stripes r a seperate item again to the outer light.

So if u don't want the stripe, get the light cluster on its own.

If u buy a used one with it already, it shouldn't b too difficult to remove as it's just adhesive.

Is there any animation news here?

Has anyone ever flashed the BCM?

For me it is only possible to open it so far, otherwise all functions are fully available. The dynamic indicator also works correctly.

Only the animation when locking is not available and the light simply goes out.

hey mate, have u successfully retrofitted the new tail lamps?  im very keen in converting to the new lamps, but based in this thread seems it isnt such a plug & play method. cld u share if u managed to complete this retrofit?

oh no, that is bad news @ssavi 😞
sorry to hear that.

in ur pics, which one is old & which one is new?

hope u can sort out the wiring+connectors.

i ended up abandoning the idea of the sourcing the face-lift lights, for now, given its cost & availability in Oz.

so for the time being, I improvised with the chrome strip across the rear.

Is the light animation functional?

So that is dimmed when opening and closing!

So beautiful mate !

how did u sort out all the wirings?

could you do a short tutorial on how affix the facelifted tail lights ?

как ты разобрал всю проводку?

не могли бы вы сделать краткое руководство о том, как прикрепить обновленные задние фонари?

Unfortunately, I have no data, the work was done in the service

Okay, so it's the same as mine.
So far only works when opening the animation.

So front and rear conversion are nothing new anymore. It's all older.
If you have the right STG and adapt the cabling, this can also be done at the front.
Of course, a few more parts are then required, which makes them significantly more expensive.

Whether the animation then runs 100% at the front and rear is also questionable.

Does anyone else here have any new insights into animation?

I wrote to the company from CZ but of course they don't give out any information. Costs 200€ and only there. Doing it yourself is not.

I still suspect it is due to the BCM. Has anyone already flashed it?

You need to understand the version of BCM and its hardware
