I did not get any info before 3 weeks ago.. dealer just told me that aprox date of delivery is end of May (info which he got from factory based on aprox. build date which he did not want to tell me as he was not sure if that date is true), last week he call me that car is produced and that delivery will be in max 14 days.. so.. all 3 months I was walking in darkness :)

  • Well 13.5 months waiting and I finally collected my Octy Estate vRS yesterday. I couldn't be happier  👍😀

  • After 13 months waiting my SEL iV Plug in Hybrid arrived.    All seems good with it so far, just to understand some of the infotainment features!

  • Just took delivery of mine but had to cancel some of the optional extras

Manual..

@Col46 if you would like updates it might be worth contacting Skoda via the online chat thing on their website, you don't even need your order number, you just need to know what you ordered, where and on what date. Depending on what extras you ordered there might be added delays.

Well I went on the live chat thing in the corner of the screen and Skoda have no record of me or my order!

having gone round the houses I have been informed that my car hasn’t been ordered...

after contacting the dealer apparently my deposit and order has been accepted by them but due to the sales personal going off sick the order wasn’t actually placed with Skoda and nobody followed it up

so I’m annoyed to say the least as the build time is now currently 25 weeks

so approx November

I might have them put winter tyres on it to save me the hassle!
good job I chased it up or I would have been blissfully unaware of the ***k up

Sounds a bit frustrating, but at least the time from when you actually popped your deposit down to when you checked with Skoda wasn't too long. I picked my car up on Sunday this week and dealer said to me that autumn or longer would be estimate if ordered today, so you're experience sounds fairly similar.

Hi Aarond

hows your car? Bet your well happy aren’t you

was it worth your wait?

im looking forward to getting mine even though it’s ages away yet.

do you know if our cars have auxiliary heating/cooling that you can control via your phone?

I was asked by a friend if I had it and I’m not sure if it’s standard or an option or not at all on the octavia

I didn’t know about it

It's awesome thanks @Col46, but hardly had chance to drive it yet due to work this week. Some tinkering with the infotainment was required (had to take out a couple of fuses, see other threads on that) and I do have an airbag error, so will contact dealer shortly. I had a 245 facelift Octavia prior to this and read this forum, but still getting used to all the tech!

I'm not 100% sure, but I think I read the newer builds (maybe last August-ish onwards) do seem to have the option to switch on fans for heating/cooling for ten mins, below is a screenshot of my app just now. This isn't auxiliary heating really (which is a separate bit of kit), it's just a quick blast of the fans.

I've got the feature with the fans in the apps, but haven't tried it yet...

Just been told my car's production has been set to week 19 (this week) and should allegedly be with the dealer within a month. Not going to hold my breath, but if it does arrive as promised it will has been 13 weeks from date of order rather than the original 23 weeks quoted.

My order was built week 15 (around 12th April), it arrives at dealer today/tomorrow and I'm due to collect it on Sunday of this week. I did the DVLA registration thing today too. Ordered Feb 16th so might just hit the estimate of 12 weeks!

It pays to have cynical mind, but you never know @sicone it might all just work out!

Looks like I was right to be sceptical, just had an update that "production has been delayed slightly". Good thing I'm in no rush (yet).

Update on my delivery!

Ordered on the 24th of February 2021 an Octavia iV (PHEV), high trim, 18' inch wheels, full led matrix and electric tailgate;

Dealer submitted internally on the 26th;

Got build for week 14 (2nd week of April) and confirmed it. Dealer saw chassis number appearing on that week;

Waited for transport and boat to Portugal. (yes, for some reason they arrive by boat here too..)

Arrived to the dealer last Friday and I'm going to pick it up next Wednesday 26th. Almost exactly 90 days as per estimated.

Update on my first post

Octavia Style 1.5 TSI DSG ordered in Romania March 16th, today just recived the VIN and the car should arrive June 21st or maybe a little before. So that's aprox 90 days. Not too bad.

Conrgats - i ordered on the 11th march - my dealer said that there is no confirmed date yet, but the approx date is second part of August...

Orderd mine on 15.4.2021 (they told me that the waiting period is up to 6 months) and just sent an e-mail to the dealer to see if he has any new informations...
@GregB11xwhich dealer? :)

Ordered a PCH for a Octavia Hatch 1.5 TSi e-TEC, 2nd week of January 2021 and build date was last week.

Delivering dealer reckoned mid June to them, I just hope it's SW bug free :sweat:.

Having had one for a couple of weeks, it is a good engine\electrical solution if a bit strange at first.

I hope yours does not suffer the problems that mine did. I'm sure the Dealer are having fun in mine while I'm walking everywhere now.

Encouraging that many of you are getting your cars :cake:. Frustrating that I have been waiting longer than most and still haven't got mine :worried:.

Late January - order was entered into the system. Nothing special: Octavia TSI 150 hatchback, manual, STYLE package, DCC, auxiliary heating.

Was promised automatic status updates via email from Skoda (factory).

Mid March - dealer told me that the factory had assigned my order a preliminary build week 13 (ie first week of April). No email from Skoda factory regarding this status update.

Second week of April - contacted the dealer and asked about status. Dealer told me the preliminary build week had been changed by Skoda to week 18 (second week of May) and given no explaination as to why. No email from Skoda factory regarding this status update. Called Skoda HQ in Sweden and they said they would look into it and get back to me.

Next day second week of April - the dealer called me (not Skoda HQ) and said that the factory had assigned my order an official build week 18 (second week of May). No email from Skoda factory regarding this status update.

Fourth week of May - contacted the dealer and asked about status and the dealer said that there had been no status updates since second week of May. Don't know the exact status the car had been given that week but it was something like "gathering parts for assembly". No email from Skoda factory regarding this status update. Called Skoda HQ again and they said they would contact the factory and get back to me. Haven't heard back from them since.

So I'm stuck är "gathering parts for assembly" and I have not once received an email from the Skoda factory regarding the status of my order.

Well, I might get lucky. Somebody has probably just forgotten to update the status and the dealer will probably call me tomorrow saying that I can fetch the car next week. ;)

Waiting would be a lot easier if Skoda could provide more informative status messages. For instance, would it not be better if "gathering parts for assembly" was at least replaced by "gathering parts for assembly. Expected date for assembly is currently unknown". I know, I have low expectations. But at least I would be able to conclude that this is probably going to take awhile and I would then be able to stop hoping and make other arrangements regarding car dependent activities planed in the near future (yeah, I was dumb enough to believe in the official build week assigned by Skoda and I sold my old car a few weeks ago so now I don't have a car).

Sorry to say but probably the fault is on your car dealer side.. are you sure that they really ordered the car? Are you 100% sure?

I ordered car in mid of February, getting pick up tommorow..

Well, I'm happy for you :party:

No, I can't be 100% sure. I have not seen the order in the system with my own eyes. However the Skoda HQ has found my order in the system so I deem it highly unlikely that both the dealer and different people at Skoda HQ are lying to me :tongueout:

I have different theories to why. One is that some countries are of less importance to Skoda and customers in those countries have to wait longer. I've heard from a dealer in Sweden that they no longer accept orders on new Kodiacs because all new Kodiacs go to Germany (true or false? I don't know. Skoda is sure as hell not going to confirm). Another theory of mine is that there is a shortage of auxiliary heating components. I don't think auxiliary heating is something commonly selected as an option in "warmer" countries (in Portugal for example). It does not even appear to be an available option in some countries. If this theory is true and all that is missing are the auxiliary heating components, would it not be nice if Skoda would say so and give me the opportunity to de-select this option in order to get the car built as soon as possible? Auxiliary heating can be added later by the dealer. I've heard of other car manufacturers offering this kind of solution to their customers (not specifically in regards to auxiliary heating but in regards to other options, ie de-select these options and get your car delivered sooner).

Probably you are correct, normaly if some component is missing then delivery date can be much longer.. hope that you resolve asap or cancel order and order it again withouth missing components on factory..

Certain options such as canton speakers, panoramic roof etc all require chips that are hard to get hold of. It's currently the same with all car manufacturers, even the premium brands (all car forums have very similar threads/posts). Depending on your circumstances and if you are willing to wait for that specific order, it might be worth looking at buying a cheap banger of a car to tie you over @SiWaiting. Or see what they have in stock and comprise on options

My car finally arrived at the dealership yesterday evening after waiting 4 weeks for a boat to the UK, hopefully they'll have it it ready for me to collect tomorrow 😁

Skoda HQ should be able to give you a status code that will tell you exactly where your order is in terms of build status, these are the codes and meanings for the UK but the should be the same bar the shipping codes

Yes mate @Shelvock, I've seen you post on the FB group too that you still didn't have delivery of it yet. Collection tomorrow after delivery yesterday sounds like a proper quick turn around and perfectly timed for the nice weather and bank holiday weekend! I hope you get some quality time with it amongst some family commitments
