Why are people having problems and others no problems.i read the different software updates and I believe a update 1803 is out now.if so has it solved the problems the owners were getting?or is it just a ongoing thing updates after updates? Or is there a proper fix getting worked on by skoda/vw.

You can single press for Skoda voice assistant and long press for Android voice assistant - just in case anyone hadn't stumbled across this.

Skoda should just have that on a banner above the entrance 🤬

  • This is a complete misunderstanding of the law, as a consumer you have rights, and they are completely separate to any commercial (business) relationship between a dealer and Skoda.   You do

I am told there is a fix being worked on at VAG/Skoda - my car went to the dealers back in April and been there since whilst SkodaUK requested diagnostics etc. I’m now at the point of the dealer having some of what they need to apply to my vehicle. My understanding is that there is both software as well as a replacement hardware component. In due course I will post an update in one of the several appropriate threads in this forum.

It appears much more complex than that. For example, I have an early vrs with 1664 firmware on info and have had no issues at all. Very odd.

That what I said ,why do people have no problems and other people do.i read all the posts on here and it will be interesting in what sneal ,has to say after his car as gone through the fix.also for all the other people awaiting a fix.i have my fingers crossed by the time my car comes(now 5 November all the problems will have been sorted)cheers

I think the firmware version only tells you part of the story. There's a lot of different processors / controllers in there which each have their own firmware / hardware versions. The top level number displayed on 2 different cars doesn't seem to necessarily mean that they're all running the same hardware / firmware on all of the components. I'm sure there'll be some sort of engineering screen that will show everything but I presume it's not easily accessible.

Mine goes in on Monday for the software issues, although it’s been behaving a bit better the last couple of weeks. It was far worse when the weather was really hot, literally every day there were multiple issues with it for about 2 weeks. Only had a handful of issues with front assist / unresponsive screen and steering wheel controls in the last couple of weeks. Probably completely coincidental of course!

I just picked up a new Limited Edition 140TSI Wagon and the software version is 1803.

I know it is early days but have you had any problems so far.?

So to update after complaint to skoda uk. Was contacted by my case manager last night. And she wanted to know all the details of my software issues. So i updated her with the whole story and sent files pictures over as well. Needless to say skoda will not confirm or deny known softwsre issues. But thats fine. As i stressed the main concern is the autonomous breaking. Since the last dealer update. Popping noises from the dash as well. There is a post on the forum where it was captured on a dash cam, so i know its the same issue as i have. So from here skoda uk will be working with my dealer i am told, and i  should get a call early next week with an update. Which i will let you all know of.

I have driven about 500 km since I picked it up and nothing unusual yet. I love the lane following on the freeway. Car play has been great. As someone else said, the rear camera stays on for a few seconds after you put it back in D.

I have SW 1803 and at service they will replace the main controler which will have the latest SW + much more RAM inside / better CPU which is the solution for bluetooth problems and some other SW bugs. In Tuesday I will get replacement and I will report back..

They told me that this is the official solution for the SW problems and that only replacement of HW can help - based on VAG recomendation.

Thats really interesting, thanks. My dealer has mentioned they have a replacement part for my car and are awaiting the software. The car has been with the dealer since mid-April while Skoda UK/VAG perform diagnostics etc.

Hopefully I will get it be back and on the road soon…

Since software updates did not fix anything they ordered a new infotainment controller for mine back on 25th June. Still waiting after 7 weeks.

This is what worries me, i am most definitely not waiting that amount of time for any sort of fix. Mines back at the dealer tomorrow night, i'll be reasonable in allowing them a week to fix, i may even agree to 2 weeks but for a car i'll have had for 5 weeks (issues reported after 3 weeks) i'm just not preferred to have it sitting at the dealership, unless of course they're picking up my monthly payments.

That’s my view too. Tomorrow will be the second attempt / chance to fix it. If it’s not sorted after that then it’s a conversation with the lease company (VWFS) about reducing the monthly payments. I’d happily give it back completely tomorrow and end the lease agreement but with the delays for new cars at the moment that’s not feasible. I’ve never disliked a car as much as this one.

When the car is working normally it's a really nice place to be, unfortunately, it's not working very often. In an ideal world, the dealership will fix everything next week and i'll be more than happy to have it back and working as it should be. In reality, i very much doubt this will be the case as there doesn't seem to be a fix for the majority of the issues, i do then dread the "rejection" conversation as it would leave me in the difficult position of finding something else suitable.

Just wonder how many cars are awaiting a fix? Hope the new update 1803 and the other component that is getting fittedworks for everyone.

I reported my issues after 2 days.  It has had a total of 10 days at the dealer. But, unlike many of you, my faults are in less essential areas (satnav + voice control) so I get to use my car while I wait. Not that I can go anywhere much during lockdown in Sydney. It has done only 1300kms in my 11 weeks of ownership.

Wonder how many loan cars they are out there.it must run into a high numbers.

Just picked mine up from Simpsons in Preston. They assured me it now has the latest software and is now all sorted. Also assured me that half a dozen others had been in for updates and none had experienced issues since. That’s confidence for you! Software version on mine now is 1668 which clearly isnt the latest version, but may be the latest version available for my unit. Will give it a chance to see how it goes.

That's the software version I've got, mine seems to have just about every issue going.

Ive dropped mine off at the dealer today so we'll see what they say tomorrow.

The requirements analysis determines the scope of the project by https://mlsdev.com/services/custom-software-development, identifying the most critical elements of the program, such as the functionality, usability, performance, security, and scalability. The requirements analyst performs technical analysis to determine the technical requirements of the project, and the factors influencing its development. And if any of this isn’t done properly / funded / prioritised / tested you get the issues we’re seeing.

And so it goes on.... Car still booked in for Monday. Skida uk case manager called again yesterday to say she had been in contact with Simpson skoda re all the issues. Ok thats fine talking the talk, but can they deliver? We will see next week.

So still having the issues but this morning it went up a notch.

6am wife and myself on our way to work. Screen slow to load up. Nothing new there. But just learned to ignore it now!

15 mins in pop pop pop sound again. 15 seconds or so later SOS system fault on the dash. Which then cleared. 3seconds later random breaking which i canceled by pushing the accelerator. Lucky no traffic in front or behind at that time in the morning. 5 seconds after that SOS system starts to call the emergency service. Sos button goes red. Pushed button to cancel and no response. So i am connected and have to apologise to the person. They then terminate the call and it dials again! This time it let me reset... Thankfully.

Have reported this to my dealer and Skoda Uk.

Think i will be giving them one shot at this next week. Here's living in hope for a fix otherwise the VRS is going back to them.

Keep you u updated people 😢

To be continued.......

This is the same Simpsons Skoda service dept who told me on Monday when I picked mine up they’ve fixed every car which has been in for these issues and nobody has come back to them with any issues I guess…
