The best ones are 4x4 owners who clearly can't operate their pristine new 4x4 car, so the likes of me in my knackered out old FWD Fabia come tootling past like a mountain goat.

High 5; I've done the same with a Citroen ZX rather than a Fabia. :)

its the same as 2010...

and people not putting a few quid into tyres, as theyre so much more expensive for the big fat 20" rims they specced up on the 500/month pcp suv they dont need, resulting in absolute carnage in minor weather conditions.

that and how mild it has been up to now (in reality) everyone still thinks theyll be grand..

Resorted to getting out the defender to trundle about yesterday (approx. 2" snow now polished and frozen) still had idiots behind me too close thinking they were immune to physics, after essential trip returned home, parked up and thawed out with a famous grouse

I got our boiler condensate pipe ran internally to the sink waste for just this reason

Yep been looking at how I can do that and think I've found a way so will be investigating further and hopefully checking with the guy servicing the boiler later this week.

After a day of freezing fog here the sky's cleared. Temp dropped to minus six an hour or so ago. Just went outside to check and still minus six but there's clouds coming in. Pressure dropped to 1005 millibar and 80% humidity so maybe some snow coming. The overhead HV power lines crackling like fury seems to suggest so.

You're a bloody tease, you are.

If you need me, I'll be out spraying antifreeze in the door seals of my car. :D

@AnnoyingPentiumIt is silicone spray that goes on mine. *That is pre freezing so in preparation.*

It used to be Night Before De-Icer from Halfords but 2 years ago i went to Car Plan stuff which was OK on seals but messy, but hopeless on the glass.

If driving someone elses car that is what i spray around the door seals and on the glass when parking up.

Silver bottle Pre-Icer is rubbish,   makes a mess when wiping off the ice.

Blue stuff or Halfords original great.  It used to be 3 for the price of 2. Not bought any for the past few years.

Sheep Skin Rugs from TK Maxx are about as cheap as you can get other than getting from Road Kill.

Try silicone spray, apply on a cloth.

I kept hearing people on the radio when asked what the temperature was and it must be cold and they said the temperature with windchill.

Well they were inside in the Shetlands and know damn well that if inside and out of the wind there is no Wind Chill. Or they should know.

Those outside with exposed flesh know what 'it feels like'  and what it actually is.
