Infotainment System Restarting endlessly

Featured Replies

@varooomToday i received good news, guy at dealer found 1941 update on portal and asked main importer can i keep warranty after update, cause there is no TPI, no info from skoda etc. They confirmed it, and said that they have info about that sw, but nothing officially, bla, bla. So my car is going to br first and i hope that gonna solve issues for many more. Second dealer told me next year for new sw... So thanks again to everyone here, this forum is so helpful and useful, TPI file is gold.

  • I had so many spontaneous reboots this week with even 4 occurring on the same day that the infotainment system was practically unusable. That’s why I decided to go ahead and install 1941 yesterday.

@Popovski Sorry to hear that you are getting bad experience with the 1941 version, but without a scan of the car, it is hard to say what is causing you trouble.

I presume there is a factory reset option for the MIB3, so have you done this yet?

No, I didn't do the factory reset on my own, maybe later when I am home. Also I was affraid to isntall the update that appeared after the 1941 install, but now I have nothing to lose so I will install it to see if there would be any errors

Hello @varooom

A friend told me about the update file, which would be very useful for my VRS, is it still possible to have it?

Thank you

Hi,

On another forum there are some rumors that the package @varooom sent is for specific regions only and some additional coding is required. I didn't notice any issues with modules but maybe anyone knows something about that?

Yes, I have a 12v battery and I drive enough to charge the battery. I have recordings where after the vehicle is turned off and locked, the infotainment still works as if the vehicle is running.

That is my case as well. Even after they changed my MIB (MCU, Infotainment... I got lost already how to call that) for the second time, issue continued the very next day. Infotainment itself is draining battery. I have another visit to a workshop next week, but I have little hope 1941 will solve the issue. And these guys probably will change MIB for the 3rd time, which obviously won't help either. Meanwhile, warranty expires in 2 months, so I guess the only option left for me is to sue Skoda.

I will be home in a few hours and attempt to send the file over.

Yes it's for the EU region.  Contains roughly a dozen languages.

I am not aware of any specifics regarding coding.

Well we have the 1941 update we can send you along if you get no luck with the dealers, or don't wish to wait

Hi, can I also get the link to download the 1941 update, thanks in advance.

Please Send me the Link.  I hate the Canton Bug and the reboots 🤬🤬

thank you dir the Sharing

Still got the manuals download failure, but that's nothing to worry about. If anyone has the file for that it would be appreciated.

No issues with AA, although I did have a little one, but that's down to a VPN on my phone, once I turn it off it's fine.

Little offtopic, but after yesterday update to 1896 i also have manual install failure, so maybe it is not related to 1941.

Thanks again Varooom.

I had the same issues after FW upgrade to 1941. Tried reboots of infotainment many times but nothing helped. Then I had longer driving (50km) on Saturday and self healing fixed this error and manuals were downloaded successfully. Just be patient, btw. who would read manuals on small display in the car, btw.?

Also if the download will fail to you again again, I would say some further OTA update will fix that. I was OK with the manual download errors before, since everything was working fine without reboots.

Oh yeah, it's lovely not having to put up with the multiple reboots, just hope that you're right about the manuals replacing themselves and the error on the notifications screen disappears.

The manual update is indeed automatic,  was also my problem yesterday but solved after an automatic update.

It also contains Slovenian.

Does anyone know if 1941 fixes issues with the aircon sync setting turning off and the Canton sound settings resetting? My car is booked in for these issues in a couple of weeks and was curious if this software will fix? I've downloaded 1941 (thanks @varooom!) but I'm waiting to see what the dealership does.

Not tried fiddling with the air con much yet, no need today.

I’ve been using 1941 for a week now. Not a single glitch, bug or restart after updating.  That manual failure came like for 2-3 days and then came a message that manual update succesful. So people who have manual failure, no worries it will sort itself in a few days. I had the 19XX (I don’t remember two last numbers) version before update and 1941 will make the infotainment a bit faster and more responsive too. This forum has been so helpful, useful and informative for years now. Thank’s to all members for the output and a special thank you to @varooom
