  • I had so many spontaneous reboots this week with even 4 occurring on the same day that the infotainment system was practically unusable. That’s why I decided to go ahead and install 1941 yesterday.

Hi @varooom. Can you please send me 1941 version. I'm on the 1896. Thanks

Hi, I can't find the answer to my question so I have posted a new thread. I'm currently on 1886 software version. My infotainment system reboots a minimum of 6 times over a 2 hour driving period. Is there a way to force a download of the new 1941 version or any other way without taking the car to a dealer? Thanks 😊

Just ask for the software, extract it from the zip file to a EMPTY USB C memory stick, if you go back a couple of pages you'll find out how to do it yourself as I posted a guide.

Brough my Octavia vrs new in Feb and ive had nothing but issues with infotainment system resetting the car has been back to the dealer several times and its like banging my head against a wall for them to sort it. Looking on here many of you are experiencing the same thing

ive bee loyal to skoda for over 18yrs but im struggling to stay with them

When I updated the iV, I had it on ignition on as it was processing. After 5 mins it warned me it was turning off due for eco purposes. I then started the engine to avoid that!  Not sure if I should have done that...

Just done my iV. Ignition on, 10 sec press on menu button, tapped update and selected the highlighted usb connector, easy, left a door open, lights off. Didn’t get the warning about it shutting down so all went sweetly in just over 20 mins start to finish! 1896 to 1941

And if you haven’t already… The more of us that email central Škoda and describe, complain and mention this enormous thread with SO many people saying they’ll never buy Škoda again then maybe, just maybe the head of VAG will break some heads together about the general and most recent OTA fiasco. So if you haven’t yet get onto support skoda-auto.com

Hello @varooom I am also at version 1896 and have frequent reboots. Could I also get the file and update to version 1941?

Does anyone have an idea how to get the Navi to update? The data status stopped at 21.7. All subscriptions are valid and it never worked via USB.

Thank you and greetings from Germany

Hi, I was brave and did the update this am. All went through with no problems. Took about 15 mins. It was good to have watched the video to know what to expect. Afterwards it said it needed another update and that seemed to be taking longer weirdly. Will give it a test later and hopefully no more issues.

Many many thanks for those on here who have helped.

1941 update a few days ago, no reboot anymore.

That's the update that I did say would happen, you may or may not get a second one, which is the manuals going back in, if they're not there, or an error regarding them appears don't worry about it, it disappears after about 48h.

Hi All

Got my new Octavia VRS Estate last Tuesday - 2 issues.

Software - Infotainment keeps restarting

Hardware is H61

Software 1900

I've read some of the posts here and software version 1941 has been mentioned.  Ive looked at the Skoda updates web page and it doesnt really tell you what you are downloading - is there anywhere else that I can get the software from in the hope of fixing the restarting problem?

The other problem is not really a problem - but seriously no engine cover - it looks awful!

Mike

Apparently no engine on this modal off vehicle! I asked the same question and my response to that was you mean your cutting back - cost saving exercise!

Here's my Config as at today

Hah. Read the whole thread! Some of us have had this nonsense for ages so consider yourself quite lucky. Seriously though, there are very helpful peeps with download links. Again, read the last 5 or so pages of the thread for excellent instructions how to do it. It’s quick and solves SO many issues

Thank you - will do.

You can get 3rd party engine covers, but they're pretty expensive and I don't know if they would be classed as a modification by insurance companies. Yes it looks a mess but it is what it is and your not looking at it all the time.

1941 software has solved most of owners issues regarding the random restarting of the system and other issues, however some have found that the dreaded pop pop syndrome has returned, but I don't know if that's down to their cars having older hardware, if so it might need a bit of hardware replaced, but it seems that overall the installation of 1941 software is generally successful in solving most issues.

Reading the instructions on page 26 of this thread and extracted the files from the zip file "0I_P95_EU_202325 Offline Update" I expected to see 3 folders.  Instead Ive got a few more than that 789 Folders containing 6038 files!

The Folders are named starting with MIB31_EU.ROOT then MIB31_EUCM,UR10101 going through to MIB_31_EULC.UR14008 with 3 random folders on the end - see below.

There was an error message on one file (a small file of about 1.3mb which I had to skip)  Obviously I don't want to mess up the Infotainment system on a 5 day old car - what have I done wrong?

Thanks

Mike

@MikeAPW

I think you have a different file / update, perhaps the navigation map data  - where did you get it from?

Well, you've extracted the map update file which you probably downloaded while browsing the Skoda update portal 😅

Did you follow the link I sent you by PM? That's the file you want.

You've gone to the Skoda Portal and successfully downloaded the map updates 😆

The 1941 software update is found by asking a selected member or two for a link to it and then do what I said on the previous pages.

If you have got it right you will have just 3 items which you either copy from your PC to a EMPTY memory stick or extract directly to a memory stick so that it looks like what I posted 3 items and absolutely NOTHING else.

I think that the link can only be used once.  Could one of you fine gentlemen send it to me again please, Ill have another try.

Thanks

Mike

Hi, I'm new here. Thanks for all your infos but I have to ask if I can update my Skoda Octavia 1.5 Gtec year 07/2021 to the latest firmware.

Is it supported from my hardware?  Can someone send me the link? Thanks
