Kamiq MY20 MIB3 Update

Featured Replies

Update: I picked up the car today and noticed that the temperature gauge has finally been moved to the bottom center of the display, so it's always visible (and not just when the ECO icon disappears).

Unfortunately, however, when I clicked on NAV, it told me the navigation system wasn't available.

It's strange because I was using 0330, not older versions, so the swap system must have already been active.

What should I do? Reinstall 0330? Or redo the 0332 update?

Everything else seems to be working fine.

Not sure that it is possible to re-install an older version. It could be a problem while re-activating navigation license, there is a Mega link with procedure in this topic, or a bug during update which could be solved by a factory reset from screen. Just a warn with reset : in my Scala (version 330 updated by dealer from 156) since reset I am unable to be primary user again, I don't know if it could happen to others.

Did you mean this Mega?

Unfortunately, I don't have Odis or OBD11, but I do have Carscanner with ELM.

I can try resetting the infotainment system (I'm not sure if I can do it from the screen or by removing the fuse, which should be #12).

On drive.ru, I found some topics about a patch that seems to fix the issue and that would work with Carscanner without Odis. I'm sharing it for anyone who might need it, since an ELM dongle is available for a small price:

https://www.drive2.ru/b/695890531019930453/

This is exactly my case: FEC/SWaP present but with wrond VCRN number.

Basically, you just need to find your VCRN number, replace it with a hex code, and flash it with USB.

I'm not sure whether to risk trying the patch; maybe it's better to reset the radio first.

Because, again, it's strange. I have the navigation system as standard, and if I look at the FEC/SWaP codes, I see the navigation code, but if I open the details, it shows up as VCRN 1234, which is obviously wrong.

And if I go to the dealership, they'll definitely charge me for a realignment.

My experience in one month with the updates:

Have buyed only CarScanner (forever licence 8€) iOS instead, cable for ODIS or ODIS services, or OBDEleven for ~60Є. I had a 5-year-old Vgate OBD Bluetooth adapter

Have Skoda Scala with MIB3 (Amundsen) 0156 factory (USB-C port)

Of course, thank you all who did the primary job and created different ways to update yourself!

1. I did nothing else, just all firmware update 0156 > 0238 > 0268 > 0278 > 0306 or 0308 (not remember which) > 0330 > 0332 (newest)

2. The last step, 75 and 5F errors. It means OCU update to the 143 and 00071C00 (enable navigation)

3. For error 75, use the instruction from user r0bb10 > 5WA035284OCU143.zip instruction

4. interesting part and total could take only 15min (phone with Carscanner + notebook to edit file and upload on USB the files) > enable FEC 00071C00

5. Connected the OBD adapter to the car, opened Carscanner on the phone:

5.a. Carscanner > Settings > Adapter > Advanced settings> SET ATST command to "16" and "Use software flow control during coding operations" and "when reading data" (2 parameters): UNCHECKED both

5.b. I went to Coding and service > Long coding > block 5F > Access Key should be: 20103 or empty (try both ways)> checked the box "USE Custom ID" and in the field that appeared entered 3C0A, then clicked "APPLY".

5.c. For sure message ERROR will appear, but you will see a new field DATA: E0 A5 F3 2C 1E (it's my code, but you will have yours. Total 10 simbols) it's VCRN ID number and is necessary to activate 00071C00

5.d. Save that number, you will need it.

6. From MIB solution page, download the file "MOI3preh Solution - BEWARE wait for feedback on mibwiki"

6.c. Download to PC software via Google "010 HEX editor" and open the program > open MOI3preh file "full.bin"

6.d. Use FIND function and search for "564320524E" > use REPLACE ALL function and add your number, for example, my "E0A5F32C1E".

6.e. all number "564320524E" will be replaced with "E0A5F32C1E"> SAVE the file > copy two folders and two files on USB flash

7. Just do a regular update as you did with other files

At the end, experience with CarScanner. Yes, maybe it doesn't have a nice UI like OBDeleven, but it can do a lot with it. Even changed some Themes on Copilot, etc. At the end easy to use and find what you need.

I hope that someone will help and not purchase for some items more than 20€

Following this guide, which is the same one found on the Russian site, I can confirm that with the 3C0A code it actually displayed a hex code, which should be my VCRN, after giving me an error ("impossible to apply the command").

The Russian site also says that after setting 3C0A, the VCRN also appears in the ECU Information section of module 5F, but I always see only "a|."

The only thing I didn't do was set ATST to "16," but I don't know if that changes anything; from what I understand, it's something you need to do if the first attempt fails.

If everything is correct and that's my code, I'd say I can replace it in full.bin and flash.

Question: Can I see the OCU version with Carscanner?

Because following a problem with the SOS control unit, they updated my OCU in September 2024, but what I see from the engineering menu is only that OCU3_5WA035284B_ was installed but it doesn't say the version. If I click on the various items for that update it says successfully update from 1.48.0 to 101.48.0 or 101.49.0 but I don't think that's the version I'm reading here.

OCU version is visible in Telematics item, not in 5F. I use OBD Eleven but it should be the same with CarScanner

Here's a little update.

I updated from 330 to 332 and no longer had the navigation system (the function was unavailable). I applied a patch provided by drive2.ru that essentially reactivates the FEC/SWAP by connecting them to your VCRN ID, but it didn't work (the patch is applied correctly because an OK file is returned on the USB stick).

Then I read in some threads that someone had solved the navigation system activation simply by activating the off-road menu via car scanner. So I tried, and once I gave it the OK, the function appeared on the phone, as well as a sport menu (the off-road menu, for some reason, doesn't appear).

The only downside: when the navigation system wasn't active, the air temperature indicator was present in the center of the maxidot display. Now it's back to the right, and it disappears every time you activate eco mode, which is when my 1.5 TSI is running on two cylinders.

I don't know if there's a way to move it back, but it was really convenient.

Anyway, apart from that, I haven't seen any improvements.

PS

I saw that the OCU version can be viewed via carscanner in the ECU information of the communication module, and in my case it's 143, so it's up to date.

Hi,

Sorry for the late response. I did step by step as described. About Error, I've had it three times (Access Key should be: 20103 or empty (try both ways)), and in the third time, I saw ID.

Yes, in russian forum, it was explained why SET ATST command to "16" is important. It's about reading speed. If reading too fast, he misses some digits or something else (not professional)

Well I've got myself in some strife. I'm stuck on MOI_RW_SKMQB_R23802P.

Like the EU version, MOI3_RW_SKMQB_P27801 contains three versions - 0238, 0268, and 0278.

Well the update from 0156 to 0238 went fine.

But now when I try to initiate an update, it just reboots back into red menu.

I really don't want to get stuck on version 0238. Among other bugs, it puts 'pre-production hardware' across the screen while using Android Auto.

I think the copy of MOI3_RW_SKMQB_P27801 I've got is missing some files. But that was hard enough to track down in the first place.

The copy of MOI3_RW_SKMQB_P30800 suggests I could upgrade from 0268 if it can get it updated at least that far.

0238 is super unstable, is anyone able to help me source RW files? I’ve been trying for over a year at this point.

I bought a Kamiq in May and since then I really want to become the primary user, but I can't ;( Please, put the firmware in one place <3 ciao from Polonia

Hello,

I have a 2020 Skoda Scala. I've updated the software up to version 232 and the OCU to version 143. The navigation works, but I can't become the primary user. The only step I haven't been able to complete is "0075 module (the OCU indeed) and in adaptation you need to change the Crash Signal to "via CAN"". Is it possible to do this using CarScan Pro? If so, how?

Thank you.

Hello, I also have a 2020 Scala. Maybe you can try update from version 232 to 330. Not sure it will solve but in my case dealer done these updates and I have still same problem to become primary user

Sorry, I've updated the software up to version 332, don't 232.

OK so it seems that we have same problem, in primary user screen do you have black screen with infinite "loading" message or another error ? I have been trying to get help for this since a few month, like in this thread: https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/519915-ocu-update/page/5/#comments

Up to now I didn't find a solution, even from dealer.

I got an answer in an OBD Eleven forum but I didn't try it yet:

Open bonnet and lock the car... Leave the car for 10min...

Dont toutch the car under that time .

After 10min disconnect + on the battery .. leeve the car for 15min..

After 15min press unlock on the keyfob just to drain the very last power ... Reconnect the battery and settup your car and follow the guide to become new user.

This works on old firmware newer software have protection against this as it also resets the accounts linked to gps tracking

Hey, im trying to update from MOI3_EU_SKMQB_P27005P to MOI3_EU_SKMQB_R23802P + P26810P + P27800P (i want to update to version MOI3_EU_SKMQB_P32400P newest) but when i plug my USB in and start the update i get this error 20. any tips please? My USB is FAT32 with lowest alligation size. I just moved all 3 folders from the .zip file (R23802P + P26810P + P27800P) is that correct? Or i just delete the other 2 files and leave only P27800P?

Mam ten sam problem cały czas ekran "pobieranie" i niemogę nadal zostać głównym użytkownikiem

Hello everyone, I have a 2020 Skoda Kamiq. MIB-Helper.com tells me, ‘Latest possible firmware update: MEN3_EU_SK370_P1185L (MU: 1760, details)’. I’ve formatted a USB stick (2GB) to FAT32, copied the Meta and Data files, but the update prompt remains greyed out. What else can I do?
