These are my immediate observation after a day of driving -

1) the lag when adjusting aircon/browsing headunit functions immediately after booting the car is gone

2) the rear reverse sensor beeping tone has changed slightly. Hard to explain but it's quite obvious

3) front reverse sensor beeping tone is unchanged but volume got softer. Had to adjust the volume upward to maintain the desired decibel setting.

4) Previously the Park Assist function would sometime trigger when mistaking carpark gantry as a car close in front. With latest firmware, this seems to have resolved already

Regarding the tone of the parking sensors, mine adjusts depending on how near / far away I am from an object / obstruction.

The nearer I am, the louder the tone...

Had ours updated to 1941 last year at the dealer. Recently noticed it’s OTA updated to 1985 on our 2024 and touch wood other than car play being it’s normal hit and miss self all previous glitches etc. seem to be resolved

I currently have version 1668 installed and want to update it to the latest possible version. However, I understand that in order to update to the newest version, I first need to install version 1896. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find this version anywhere.

Could you please share a link where I can download version 1896?

Is it possible to reinstall 1985 ? mine is very buggy and i am getting an error on my OBD11, error U105400

Hi everyone,

As a newbie only recently becoming the proud owner of a 2022 vRS a couple of weeks ago, I've already experienced a spell of endless re-booting so I have been reading this thread with interest. Some of the earlier links to updates are dead now but I have downloaded 1941 and 1985. Checking my settings I am on update 1889 so my question is, can I go straight to 1985 or are there recommended intermediate jumps to follow please.

Thanks in advance,

Kevin

As it’s such a new purchase could you ask the garage to apply any necessary updates? Updating the Infotainment system won’t necessarily solve issues as it can be down to different modules needing firmware updates which the Infotainment system update don’t include.

Certainly worth a try, thanks for the advice about the other modules that might need an update too.

I have had a few modules updated since I purchased my 2021 registered Octavia 18 months ago. The one that seemed to cause the most issues was the Telematics module (linked with the SOS function and seemingly the Sat Nav). Once I got that one updated the crashes, SOS system hanging and Sat Nav placement of vehicle on map were all basically resolved.

If it was an approved used Skoda from a dealer then they should upgrade all software to the latest version before sale.

for peace of mind do it in two steps: 1941->1985.

Thanks for all the replies. It was from a Skoda dealer but having found no error codes when checked by them yesterday I was told that routine software updates are not part of the warranty and would be chargeable ☹️

But any software updates should have been done as part of the Approved Used sale before you collected the car in the first place. 👍🏼

My father went to skoda dealer and they updated 2015 year skoda octavia for DSG for free, he asked how much to pay and they said skoda factory will pay for update.

Well I'm now on 1985 thanks to the advice on here. If I get any more problems I know it wont be down the that now and will be more determined with the dealer next time.

I had a similar response. The salesman told me that the workshop had told him that everything was up to date. After sending him a picture of the infotainment system screen and reminding him about the final picture in the approved used Skoda picture set (the picture showing the benefits of buying an official used Skoda), I received a reply that said my information was very useful and when could I bring the car in for the upgrade. At the time 1941 was the latest version. I have since had an OTA upgrade to 1985.

Is there a way to re-install 1985 ? or do i have to wait for a new update.

Why do you wish to reinstall it?

Hello everyone,

I'm new here but I read everything you all wrote and I appreciate your help.

It seems that the software I have installed actually belongs to VW. Can I still perform the software update?

thanks

Im having an error code with my OBD11 , fault code U105400 Information Electronics Control Module 1

You tried a "reset to factory settings" I find it helps starting afresh once you update the version.

It's a pain having to do the primary user again. But I find it helps

In which module did you encounter the error?
