Android Auto will not cancel

Featured Replies

Amongst other annoying infotainment screen messages is a recurring Android Auto message (see picture). Whilst it's there, no other modes work (Radio/Nav etc).

When "Cancel" is selected it goes away for 10-15 seconds then comes back. In that 10-15 seconds I am allowed access to the Radio etc. which is some relief.

This morning it was cancelled about twenty times and just kept reappearing.

So tell me why do Skoda put in the "Cancel" box in that screen if it doesn't work?

I suspect that, if the phone has Android Auto enabled, even though you cancel the connection, the phone will attempt to reconnect after a delay. If you dont want to use Android Auto then you probably need to disable it on the phone.

I think the message is just bluetooth wanting to pair, as @NottsIan alludes to. Just accept the pairing rather than trying to cancel. If it then launches Android Auto, just use the Skoda icon to return to the inbuilt system.

There are also start-up options in Android Auto on your phone.

I would try letting it connect and then selecting the other Infotainment screen options

I always say yes IF it asks. Sometimes it just does it automatically and doesn't ask. But I always want it to so not a problem for me

Yes I think you're right, and will stop it at the phone end.

Just very silly of Skoda to put a "Cancel" button on the infotainment screen that doesn't do anything apart from distract the driver.

It does do something, its cancels the phones attempt to connect. The problem is the phone will automatically retry!
