Amundsen MIB2 Firmware Update
Thanks - the update installed OK but did not solve the problem - still no villages. What is the very latest firmware - I understand 0253 was the last 'official' update.

Replacement Superb Hatch Struts
Hi. Not sure if it was my original thread re Autodoc and their misleading Superb struts. My Superb is a 2020 1.5tsi hatchback petrol. I got my struts from SkodaParts.com with part reference 3V5 827 552. Cost about 68 Euros each + 9.50 Euros delivery. Came in about 5 or 6 days. https://www.skoda-parts.com/spare-part/3v5827552-gas-spring-for-the-trunk-lid-sedan-skoda-45985.html Hope that is of some help

Where is my oil light!?
Yes, this is still confusing me. I would expect some residual oil if it "drained away". Normally oil is difficult to disperse, but this sensor was totally dry. It led me to think it isn't operated directly by oil at all, but by a plunger inside the head. I've thought some more about this since my last post, and I think it's worth doing as above suggestion, i.e. unscrewing it and running the engine - at the weekend, I'm busy working until then ... Luckily I can use a different car.

Fair one. Such a shame when someone’s incompetence causes so much hassle!

Superb Mk3 Estate 190PS TDI DSG MY2015 SE L Executive - Moon White
Last speaker swapped out this evening. I thought I was doing it preventatively but one tap from the hammer on the punch to knock out the centre of a pop rivet and the magnet fell off the speaker! Hopefully these will last a good while now but I have a spare just in case and have got it to less than 30 minutes to swap them out. Even in the dark with a head torch!

What have you done to your Superb III today?

Not worth writing off and buying back to repair?

MIB3 map update
That's saying 26.10 so you have an update ahead of the file one so it won't degrade. That's an over the air one.

Probably... Trouble is insurance will have worked on new parts and you'd be looking at about half that just for the bonnet... It's a rip off if you can't choose where it gets repaired and how and I'm sure they prefer to write them off as it's cheaper for them. Means decent cars get written off for small amounts of damage.

Repeated daily Infotainment update issues
The first step is to get the 0334 update for the infotainment which then allows the other applications to update successfully... You can wait for the OTA to be offered with you but it seems this can take a long time and there's no way to force it. You can ask the dealer to start the update for you but it's probably not free unless your car is still in warranty. Or you can follow the instructions from PeterTr above to do the update manually yourself. Gabbo

Amundsen MIB2 Firmware Update
Everything other than the village names works OK. Using the same map data on the same Skoda SD card shows the villages on a similar unit in a friends Golf but not in my Octavia. On that basis there must be a difference between the two Amundsen units, and the firmware might be the difference? I don't think the firmware on my unit has ever been updated, so I think it is worth trying an update from version P0241T to P0253T. Can anyone help me in obtaining the files for the update?

Kodiaq 2017 - Strange 9 errors from nowhere
Hi! As the warning lights on your 2019 Škoda Kodiaq 2.0 TDI come on as soon as you start the engine, before the car moves, I would consider a wheel-speed sensor failure to be less likely. I would start by checking the battery, as a weak 12 V battery or a voltage drop when starting could generate similar errors. Could you check the battery voltage? It should be at least 12 V; when the engine is running, it should reach up to 14.5 V depending on the state of the battery and the smart charging system. WBR Primoz

2017 diesel 150 DSG 4x4 fuel filter identification
If you don't have this kind of tool. You can proceed this way: 1. Set ignition ON (without starting the engine) for 10s. 2. Set ignition Off for 15s 3. Repeat 1 & 2 4 or 5 times 4. Start the engine (if it stalls, start again from the beginning) 5. Rev the engine around 1500 rpm for 30s to get rid of potential air bubbles in the fuel system I've done this about 10 times on several TDI engines over last 20 years. Never had any problem.

Thanks, but in not after a leggy car, looking at les than 40k miles 😀 Insurers rarely use second hand spares, must quote on new parts.

Thank you, I've done it for a few years now. I don't get the actual money back (~£1500) but it changes my tax code upwards. Not as good as getting 55p/ mile expenses......

Hi @zer081, We're not talking about the same SW version. See the explanations above to check the infotainment SW version. ;)
