  1. 005 is here with me in Mansfield where it’s been for the last 5 years with the previous owner
  2. Had a play with Black & White earlier
  3. I got someone to come out to check the car and confirmed its a bad catalytic converter and i found a car breakers who is willing to give me a catalytic converter and said if it passes the mot I pay £50 for the catalytic converter but if it fails he take it back with no charge so got a good deal plus mot guy said he will do the mot for free as well 😀 Will Update after mot Thanks for everyone's help
  4. Didn't get them done, and I'll explain why below. To everyone - got it home. Needed a fuel filter, two rear brake cylinders (now have a good handbrake and the thing stops excellently), and a CV boot. Not bad, not bad. But 4 hours labour adds up, plus the MOT, and the parts. I'm now £270 lighter. But in all honesty I couldn't have completed most of those jobs myself anyway due to a lack of a suitable workspace. Console bushes can get done at some point in the future. I can turn the radio up enough to avoid the creaking. Anyway... silver linings and that... Saw 56mpg on the way back with a gentle touch on the throttle, and saw the above just as I parked up.
  5. Take it you went for the cloaking device option
  6. Moved this to the Octy II section for you 👍
  7. Aaaah, you killed little Casper?!?! 👻 That's so sad... Let's just assume you scared him away and he ran to haunt another car 🤣🤣🤣
  8. Moon just starting to peak through the clouds at Rufford Park
  9. Agreed. Going to do my service early and a lot more in-depth since it's just touching 60k now. Doing the three filters; oil, pollen, and air. Three spark plugs and the other two old coil packs. Along with some 505.00 approved oil. So it was passing so I'd have a use for all these bits.
  10. It looks exactly like mine at the moment; Invisible. 😠
  11. My late dad always said that "Third Class riding is better than First Class walking". Not that a Fabia is third Class 😁
  12. The led one was the only one I could find, BTW , the size of the lamp has to be 75mmX 32mm, the bulb warning only comes on at night,NOT with DDL, (running lights), the one Celtic put in as a link is too big for the hole, look around there are direct replacements, in fact buy a second led light and get it coded out!, Celtic, your instructions spot on, I too had to buy an extra quad lock lead, even though I bought it direct from Xtron,Skoda specific, I ran the cabling down the near side behind the glovebox, don’t unplug the airbag switch, needs a laptop to remove warning, then under the carpet on the sills to the rear, a bit of a pig to get it through the back, or in the roof lining might be easier to get through the flexi tube on the tail gate, tailgate lining a bit of a pig to get off first time, I could actually hang on it while my son held it open LOL, this is the back of the unit I have, BTW where are you in Dublin? ,just. With Dunnes being 4 Km away,
  13. 9 months and 30 days - I feel your pain
  14. Bonjour Sevi I do like it when friends from other countries apologise for their grammar, not realising it's better than some of us locals 🙂 No apology needed! Gaz

Totally agree with you, it's a ****ty situation... ...but as far as I can tell you can't do anything about it. Don't know how your Contract looks, but I carefully read mine and all the conditions. It clearly specifies a "cannot deliver" clause that ca be invoked by the Factory. It's followed by complete refund of the deposit, but there are no penalties for delaying you or "blocking" your money for a long time... It's unfortunate, but it's the kind of "take it or leave it" deal... Their Legal department knew quite well what was doing when they drafted that type of Contract.
  16. Have you changed the filter recently? Very unusual for one to spontaneously start leaking, I think?
  17. Fuel consumption should improve when the filter leak is fixed. [silver lining smiley]
  18. Did you check the screenwash and numberplate lighting?
  19. Reading this with a bit of deja Vue, in my previous, (just departed) yeti , i swapped out Bolero, for an Xtrons IB90MTLV unit, other than not being given an harness to connect to VAG group cars ,found it ok, I too wanted it more for the app based system ,rather than pure sound, I tried TPMS , but no app could give me a consistent reading, my IPhone 12 would not connect with CarPlay at all, tried various dongles, all returned, NO support from Xtrons what so ever, I was happy with it, the camera I have is from Ali Express, look there for them, they do some better than the one on the link, straight replacement with numberplate light, they even come built into the rear door latch also, wiring it is a bit of a problem, getting it into the rear door and keeping the voltage stable . Try audiotech direct ,good model specific range and very helpful,
  20. As in you're trying to get the state of charge (SoC) by pressing the trip button? Pretty sure your car is too new for that, it worked on older cars but I think it was dropped around 2016... You'll need a car battery tester if you want to get a better idea of battery health.

I guess they can't; but they can however use a cancellation to their advantage... I mentioned it few pages ago (on this topic). On the Skoda-RO stock list (available online) a 2.0 TDI DSG Style++ apeared out of the blue about 2 weeks ago. I knew the stock quite well, since I checked it weekly since I placed the order last August. There was no TDI, only PHEVs. Since this one was really similar configuration as my order, I asked my dealer about it; and also: how is it possible to build stock when there are TDI/DSG orders not delivered? She told me that it can't be stock building up, but it must be an order that was cancelled by the client and now the car belongs either to Skoda-RO, or to the dealer... Cancellations by the factory are indeed very bad news! And again, what they choose to cancel makes no sense - similar to the deliveries (newer orders before older ones). I mean how can they decide to cancel orders placed in October, but still keep those of April or May? Is there a Czech worker pleading: "Boss, please!!! Let me keep working on this car! I've been working on it since last April, I beg you - let me finish it!!! Cancel that new one, I haven't started working on it yet..." ??? To me it doesn't make any sense... unless they have a "wheel of fortune" in a marketing office somewhere to decide what&when gets built. @Dado82 I'm really curios: does the dealer provide any kind of "proof" for the “unable to deliver” clause invoked by the Factory? Or they simply notify you via phone or email? @buzcro Congrats on your new car! Mazda3 is a great looking car, and almost sure - less software-buggy.

I paid the deposit on the Mazda3 yesterday. Should be mine by the end of next week. I'll wait a few days before cancelling the Skoda, just to be on the safe side. I was really looking forward to the Octavia, maybe the 5th generation somewhere in the future...
  23. S Some of you are trying to objectify a subjective matter. Define "enough". Is it enough to get car rolling? Because if so, even 100PS will be enough for a fully loaded Kodiaq, it will move. 245PS is adequate for a Kodiaq. If there weren't other options I would choose it, I would never choose 150PS however. I have driven a 100PS Opel Astra, however, and it was awfully slow. I drove it for 5 years, it moved, yes, but it wasn't enough for me. I would find myself between semi-trucks, where you don't have enough power to safely overtake and get sandwitched between, with semis not keeping their distance from you or deciding to overtake with oncoming traffic, making 3rd lane, pushing you to a side of the road, to fit. Racing drivers agree that having some spare horse power is safer on the road. Sure you can drive with less PS. But if you do have some extra power, you can compensate for idiots on the road. It baffles me, how people come and tell others what they need. Where do you draw the line between "want" and "need"? Do you really need a car in a first place? I am sure you could move around with public transportation, sure it would not be so convenient at times, but it would get you, where you want. Hence, by your logic, there is nothing wrong in wanting to drive a car, it's just wanting and needing are two entirely different things.
  24. Is that the part you've removed that is faulty? Is there no part codes on it anywhere? It looks like it visually. Although you may want to pay close attention to connector form. (By the looks of the diagram the three are all different. One on the turbo, one b4 catalyst, one post catalyst The part number your refer is the one on b4 the catalyst. ) £157 plus delivery on skoda-parts.com. Retail price probably about right. Some non genuine options on autodoc. Around 60 or 70 plus delivery. A genuine item on bay for £100. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-GENUINE-VW-BEETLE-GOLF-EXHAUST-GAS-TEMERATURE-SENDER-03L906088J-/144151473917?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0 Are u sure it is not an electrical connector or wiring issue first before throwing a replacement at it.
  25. Today Škoda revealed the Monte Carlo Sport looks package, this is interesting combo with 1.5 TSI with 150 HP, as there is no clue if there will ever be VRS version fans would like to see.
  26. No, IT IS the tensioner bolt IN MY CHART, give it a check again,
  27. That's if I don't already. I went to stop at the junction at the end of the road the garage is on as I usually would do and stopped about 50 yards short, swinging from my seatbelt. The schoolkids passing by got a good laugh out of it.
  28. thank you so much for the quick reply. i have some other suspisions. but i first wanted make sure i did good. i couldnt find this diagram. so wow thank you so much. i wil keep topic active once i figur enit out
  29. I’ve changed every halogen external bulb for their led tech equivalent bulbs. Great lighting improvement. For the front fog lamps I get this NATGIC 2NG1210-H8-W very good improvement even if I would like a little warmer than it is. I’ve also changed the reverse oem light to AGLINT 1156-5630-24W Turn signals are now AGLINT 1156-2835-42 Every item I list here is CANBUS, so no faults.
  30. As the previous poster states, there isn't a major service any more. This is probably as much information as you'll find these days: https://www.skoda.co.uk/owners/servicing-maintenance-fixed-price As an aside the Capital letters thing is considered bad form/rude on forums, as it's considered the equivalent of SHOUTING.👍
  31. Shame it failed, Ryan, but it's not too bad and can easily be put right
  32. @shea1980 Today i could release the lock, remove the old bulb and put the new one in and lock it. Check the picture in a few entries before that shows the path the wire travels in.
  33. In other news, 9 months 8 days have passed since ordering and................................................ still awaiting a unconfirmed build date. Reading on here so many having build dates and ordering months and months after me is killing me

They can and they would. Commercially and reputation wise its a situation that they would avoid if at all possible so I doubt it will happen without them offering an alternative deal.
  35. Hi everyone here! New member, following this thread since I’m interested in doing something like in my Estate. I only did retrofit shocks once in another car. Then I chose bilsteins+eibach kit and I was really happy with results. But that was an sports two seater roadster and I was almost 20 years younger. Lol. So I’ve been reading what you have done in your cars and now I’m interested in the Koni active ones. Maybe with some new springs. I still don’t know which kind. My car it’s an 2019 Estate model and it doesn’t have DCC no sports suspension neither, with all the waving!! 🚢
  36. Let's have a bit of context to this - where do you live? This is not typical behaviour from truck drivers in - dare I say it - most countries. So you're not trying to tell everyone else that they need more than 150PS... more than 245PS... in their Kodiaq? I'm pretty sure that's what I've been saying, yes. Different people need different things, that much I think we can agree on. Some people may not actually need a car, that I agree with too. But this is about whether a certain amount of power is sufficient for a car to be practical and safe. 150PS is sufficient for a Kodiaq. You may want more power, so did I... but there is nothing wrong with a Kodiaq that only has 150PS.

That is ridiculous - imagine that my order gets cancelled by the factory, after waiting for almost a year? Is that even legal? Can I as a customer even do something about that - I mean they cant just cancel and f**k you...what about the damages and deposit stuff??
  38. Hello and welcome to Briskoda! Might I say that your English is rather good.
  39. Not specifically running but I have to comment on viewing a 20km walk which is not something I have done before. It is always incredible seeing elite athletes doing their thing, their technique, and stride rate is almost mesmerising. Conditions were remarkably good for the event being cool, clear and calm, which you would expect early in the morning but never guaranteed locally at this time of year. The leading guys averaged near 15kph, that's four minute kilometres, for the whole distance and to my uneducated eye the eventual winner was going a bit better than that in the final stages.....walking! The organisation was very slick as there multiple events for different distance, sex and age groups which were all finished within a couple of hours. The other thing that impressed me again was the level of mutual support and friendship between the competitors after the races, for both those who achieved at junior ranks and those who DNF due to physical issues or penalties.
  40. Yeah just tap the dead space and it'll fade back to whatever you were doing. Another gripe is the background picture when you change to sport / comfort. Fine in the day but incredibly bright and blinding at night. I can't believe someone tested it in the real world and signed it off
  41. The MQB onwards indirect systems need upto 1hour of driving to gain the required info when you press the button to reset the values after you physically alter the actual tyre pressures... I'd go on a different road or for a longer drive..if you're just doing very short trips...
  42. Usually in situations like that which require concentration the last place that you will be looking is a small area of the instrument binnacle to see a momentary flash of an orange symbol. Perhaps those of you with 2 working eyes and better pereipheral vision can see it but I can't, I have to actively look for it.
  43. Hi all, I’ve ordered a new Kodiaq too, a VRS in moon white, 129 days and counting- couldn’t resist the fantastic deal. Still no build date but hopefully soon. Anyway, I have a Kodiaq Sportline currently and previously had a Superb Estate L&K. I love both cars, but the Kodiaq just pips it for me in terms of getting older family members in and out. It can also get me to my favourite fishing spots without grounding out like the Superb did and a roof rack awning gives me better headroom too. I guess the point is that every car is a compromise and we all have good reasons for choosing the ones we do. I’ve gone with a VRS this time as, while it’s not a sports car, it’ll still be the fastest thing I’ve personally driven. I have nothing to compare it to so it’ll feel fast to me and I love the inside of it. Have gone with ventilated leather seats, winter and sleep packs and a towbar. Watching everyone’s waiting times with interest 😳
  44. I’ve had my annoying vrs a year now and my Skoda Connect has expired. However the app lets you try it for free or renew for another year. So I have 1 month free. Wonder if this carries on or you can only try it for free once?
  45. Hi All, Today is the time that i move away from lurking since 2011, to become a little more active on Briskoda. The simple reason that i was lurking is that there is a great dutch skodaforum as well and yes you can find me there to. Since 2011 i had 2 octavia's, a Passat GTE and my previous was a VW Arteon, but all were getting old (and since gas prices became insane) i sold my Arteon and went for a 2021 Vrs Ocatvia, yeah the hybrid one... It came fully specced, because it was a demo car with 3k miles on it, thats the reason to why it is lowered, has black accents and what not. Now this is a great car and all, but some things are bothering me and want to get fixxed, like no cigarette lighter in the front to charge all my mobile devices, no 12V in the rear for the kids their screens during vacation. I know its (in holland) a 50k car, but hey we dutchy's can complain about everything. So that is something i need to get fixxed, and i hope that i can gather some info here or share some knowledge on these projects.
