You do realise the steering wheel is fitted to the wrong side. Apart from that good to see you get your car at long last.

I have nothing on the phone. Will see tomorrow if this is a real problem. Side assist is also helpful and ambient lights give a premium feeling.

The car is great. The best part is that it is a DSG. I tried ACC on the highway, cause there was a traffic jam (I could have avoided the jam, but didn't on purpose). It really is more relaxed, when car drives itself. The only thing I didn't like is that wireless charging goes on and off for some reason. Rear cam is also great and very useful.

You are right @Ajdolin. I came home late to take pictures. But currently I have this one.
  5. Being a TDI the correct oil is Long Life regardless of the car being on a fixed service or variable / flexible regime. That would be to VW 504 00 /507 00. The VW507 00 being the spec and 5w 30 FS III. The factor i would look for is that the oil level has not been increasing. As in Diesel diluting the oil. But if the Oil Level when checked has been staying the same or only slightly dropping then that should not be an issue. PS Checking what an Invoice says when a car is serviced is more than a good idea, and checking what they reset the service indicator to. Also dipping the oil cold and again at operating temp to see they put enough in and not too much is 'simply clever'.
  6. @Gazthat indicated 64 mph will be pretty much the car doing 62 mph then if the GPS was checking it. Maybe it is a setting someplace on that screen.

Spreadsheet updated, still no signs of the car itself 🤨 I guess it’s too dark to take a picture now 😁
  8. When I ordered it it was the 1.4 but I think that my order went in just as they were doing the switch over and I think that I got the 1.5 as an automatic upgrade. The fact that I’m not sure what size engine I’ve had for 4 years would suggest that I’m not a typical buyer of throttle controllers! The Skoda website says my VIN doesn’t attach to any further recalls - but I will press the dealer when I’m getting my brakes done. I did get something done early on with one of the services (not sure if it was a recall or just an update). It made a difference to the hesitation but 4 years on, I’m struggling with it. Thanks paul
  9. It’s called moderation, and I was trying to find information to deal with a post report. Generally people treat a forum as a two way street rather than a free resource. I will at this point just refer you to the forum guidelines and suggest you have a read before you carry on. They can be found here: https://www.briskoda.net/forums/guidelines/
  10. I put 150% halogens in my Fabia projectors but the biggest improvement was to have them aligned and adjusted properly.
  11. For sure, but you don't need a DCO manifold; Webcon (UK distributors) made a lot of direct replacement kits with downdrafts and adapter plates that let you retain the standard manifold and air cleaner.
  12. Leave the wheels exactly as they are, they make the car look even more honest. I am so jealous of that car, it reminds me in some ways of an 80's Mitsubishi Hatchback (I cant even recall the model) that I resurrected for my sister but that was a high miler with rotten wings (I replaced them) not a time warp honest car like yours, it was the same colour though and cleaned up just like yours, even high miler Jap small capacity engines run like sewing machines but yours is just extraordinary, I'm so pleased it has been saved.
  13. A couple taken with Astrophotography mode (balanced on a fence post). YouCut_20221027_200616879.mp4

So here we go again. After selling my 08 reg SE number 571 last weekend I went straight out and purchased SE number 816. It’s got 155k miles on the clock but only 1 owner and full dealer service history. I will as always try and bring it up to a fantastic standard. It drives faultlessly and interior apart from the gear stick badge is mint. A few things done already. New genuine headlamps and mirror glass replaced. Also new genuine gear stick badge. I have a set of wheels at my refurbers to collect this week and some nice goodies are arriving this weekend. Pics of so far progress below.
  15. I’ve been really pleased with our mk3 Fabia estate the boot is definitely tardis like. Needed to pick up a mk3 focus bonnet last week. I was amazed to find it easily fitted in the boot. Saved me a fortune on delivery delivery 😀

I don't use the wireless charging anymore. It's just not charging fast enough, especially if you are using your phone for navigation or playing music. Beside this I usually have stuff lying in the middle console and putting a phone under everything, so it can charge, it's always a pain.
  17. Depends how old the Octy is. The newer it is, the shorter the time, probably. 😁

You finally got it and am glad you like it, otherwise it would be a real disaster, 15+ months for nothing 😉 Dsg is really nice, it was actually my husband that suggested I should go for it, and I have to say he was right. Enjoy, many safe kms 🥳 Btw, do you have your phone in a protective case or bumper that might interrupt the charging? I usually keep my phone in my purse or backpack, but do put it there sometimes and yesterday it didn’t charge for some reason. But I do have spigen protection plastic in the back of the phone.
  19. OK. What happened with your car? There was a common issue with the cars your age and that was the Turbo Acuator, which when customers were paying they were told it needed a Turbo and Acuator but actually you can get an actuator. There was a early issue as well and a TPI and the fix was a Shim. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/444502-12tsi-turbo-epc-issues
  20. My mechanics diagnosis as well as (independently on each other, The AA) so I do believe that this is the issue.
  21. Quoting myself here, I just seen the branding on here, and found exact part here. I cannot say if this is what you need, nor have I ever brought anything from this website. Much cheaper @BettyFabia https://m.autodoc.co.uk/magneti-marelli/12827477
  22. Nearly. 100kph = 62.1mph. Gaz
  23. Cars have stupid software that can have bugs, it might be an idea to turn on the winter tyre warning and a speed warning if visible, then lock car. Wait 1 minute, and then unlock and turn off the features, then next time you hit 64mph, you can see if it has stopped. Unless someone else knows what these 3x beeps could be? I had an issue with my own car unlocking ALL doors when you unlock, despite it being set to single driver door only, once I changed settings to unlock all/then back to single door it then saved it. Does the issue happen with both of your keys?
  24. That was the one I checked. I guess that: Dear customer, No relevant recall campaigns have been launched by ŠKODA for the entered VIN TMBBN7np9k7035428. is not as reassuring as I might have hoped. I'll get as pushy as I can with the dealer's garage when I'm back there before I go looking at throttle controllers. Cheers Paul
  25. I’ll take that for feeling like a young man again 😂 great idea, appreciated! I’ll try to film in landscape next time one of these crops up. Appreciate your advice too, I think it’s worth getting checked out. It sounded a bit off, but didn’t want to mug myself off getting it replaced when it’s just meant to sound like that. Won’t broach the battery subject on account of being a newbie, but if you asked me again, I’d agree with you 😉
  26. Thanks all. I’m due back for disks and pads this month so I’ll ask the dealer to confirm that it’s up to dates for recalls etc and doing what the auto box does as standard. Then, assuming no improvement, I’ll get all brave and whizzy with a throttle controller. Thanks again. Paul
  27. I expect @roottoot will be along with some excellent suggestion on some silica gel drying product 🤝 Meanwhile you should try and check carpets for moisture, as you might want to see if you have leak bringing moisture in.
  28. 1. Depends on what headunit it has. 2. No, Android Auto needs a MIB2 headunit which was only introduced from mid 2015 production date.

BTW your picture shows the part as being 5Q0 199 262 DF (Delta Foxtrot) That part as far I am able to tell is not legitimate, so it has been mislabelled. 5Q0 199 262 BF (Bravo Foxtrot) is as @ApertureS has mentioned, is for a 1.5l petrol with DSG, so clearly not intended for your engine. VAG mistake, so they need to fix it FOC.
  30. And I've a similar experience too. More odd is that both the local Skoda and VW dealerships are in the same franchise (as is Audi). Needing new rear discs while my vRS was in for other work, there was a two day delay on getting the discs. I pointed out to Skoda that VW had them in stock 150 yards away and offered to pick up and deliver. Skoda declined and I got the car back the same day, with new discs. The local independent I've used (BMW & VAG specialising) for a long time goes to VW when needed, not Skoda if they can help it. Gaz

5Q0 199 262 BF is intended for Kodiaq with 7spd DSG on the Petrol 1.5L engines. Superseeds to 5WA199262D 3Q0 199 262 E is intended for Kodiaq with 7spd DSG on the Diesel 2.0L engines, Superseeds to 5WA199262Q EDIT: 5Q0199262DF which is in the picture NOT BF doesnt actually exist in ETKA? Which means the factory have fitted a factory only part - which is perfectly fine. ETKA is only there for replacement parts. What they have fitted is most likely fine. And also the brown staining you are talking of is just where the rubber is bonded to the metal
  32. I had the same experience when living in Southampton, the local Skoda specialist was verging on incompetent (even letting my ex's car out with the reversing lights permanently on and denying they had done so!), so I started taking her Fabia to the VW specialist I used in Totton and the standard of their work on her Fabia was as good as on my RS4 i.e. excellent.
  33. Brembo are rubbish. now to be more specific - Brembo hydraulic components are amazing and perfect. Brembo friction materials are not. you’ll notice that even though manufacturers fit beautiful big brembo 4,6,8 piston calipers from the factory, they are very rarely paired with brembo pads and discs. when it comes to aftermarket brembo stuff it just gets worse, they are often squeaky and noisy, generally people complain of a ‘clonk’ which relates to being loose in the carrier and a lot complain of heavy vibration after a while. There is a huge amount of data on this forum to back it up. now if you want my recommendation for decent standard pads either pagid or TRW is what I’d go for.
  34. I forwarded the one you sent me all them months ago to him. He’s gonna update hopefully today with the outcome.
  35. In my experience avoid Skoda specialist. Go to vw specialist. same cars with usually more experienced staff.
  36. There's one of these being broken over in Ennis, might get the intake manifold off it incase I ""need"" to put a weber on. Seemingly the hitachi carb on this is a complex ******, so putting a weber in its place will simplify things a lot and (from looking at old forums) give a fair bit more power than the standard carb. Could always go really mental and put three 40mm Mikuni carbs on it, like what subaru America did to their bonneville speed record justy. That's a FWD 1l justy there, apparantly they squeezed 120hp out of it, naturally aspirated I might add.
  37. If my Dad were here, his words would be "stick a ****ing Weber on it" but that perhaps goes against the original nature of this wee car.
  38. Could you just have stickers made up that say 'Brake Caliper' on them....? 😇

Here is an example image of the offending unit. Hard to believe this is around £930 inc VAT.
  40. My Estate used to go a bit left on a straight road then a few weeks ago I treated it to a set of Rainsport 5 tyres and afterwards it tended to pull right slightly instead. I swopped the front tyres over after 100 miles and bingo, it drives straight. No idea why but I’m not complaining!!
  41. Plenty dealer shops on eBay and Amazon also available from your local dealer. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=skoda+plastic+wheel+nut+covers&client=safari&hl=en-gb&ei=U8haY_-8LYuZgQaK1InwDQ&start=10&sa=N&ved=2ahUKEwi_sv_Z_4D7AhWLTMAKHQpqAt4Q8NMDegQIBxAO&biw=1121&bih=1438&dpr=2
  42. I think Skoda should help with the cost. Sometimes they do, but not much these days. The Dealership made a nice profit selling the car to you. Ask for that £65 back as they conned you. Ask the Dealer Principal WTF their employee was playing at calling you and then the Technician doing the Brake Fluid change. It was a Demonstrator / Ex Management car, so the brakes will have been well used. Never raced, rallied or thrashed. much.
  43. I'd like my post to be posted where I intended it to be posted. As for calm... I'd appreciate it if people do not reply to questions that were never asked. When people do that the OP has to then read thru load of irrelevent information. Again with all due respect, if you want to discuss car security and stealing cars then either reply to a security discussion ( there's lots to chose from ) or start a brand new thread. Your reply has no relevence whatsoever on me seeking technical help. Thanks for the information re: EKTA etc. but I know that all ready. I'd just like people to answer the question I asked. If nobody has then no worries.
  44. Don't you want him to check the battery as the photo shows wires going into it. 😂
  45. If I had a red Superb - I would've got that. I did however replace my chrome grille surround with a black version though, from Kopacek.
  46. For what it's worth, I have summer tyres in the summer, winter tyres in the winter, and a full-size spare wheel with a 235/45 18 non-directional Michelin Pilot Alpin winter tyre in the boot. My logic, correct or otherwise, is that the delicate sensibilities of the Haldex (or front diff, on FWD) will be less offended by the grip difference between one winter tyre and three summers in the summer than they would have been by one summer tyre and three winters in the winter

Hosepipe ban here so not washed mine for months. Black cars always look dirty anyway so you can’t really tell!
  48. Can't beat a 2.0 Fabia though.
  49. For the first time in over seven years of ownership I feel I've finally driven my urquattro properly. After repairing and changing so many parts, the final piece of the puzzle seems to have been the fuel pump and filters. It pulls hard to the red line, it doesn't stutter or miss, I can power around bends like a boss, it doesn't threaten to stall when manoeuvring at low revs, I can accelerate from low revs in the wrong gear and it just does it, no hiccups, and it sounds just ****ing epic. I don't know quite how to describe the thrill it has given me today but after so many frustrations and so much time and expense, to just get in my car and drive, and enjoy the drive with no problems, not only made me grin like an idiot but actually made me kinda emotional. It's finally time to enjoy my classic as a daily driver as much as I possibly can. Until the next challenge
