  1. Typical dealer rubbish.... Find yourself a decent transmission specialist and take it there to be looked at. I would trust a word they say, if its leaking its something to worry about, if its a tiny sweat then its not the end of the world. Something else to note, the seals if they have failed dont just fail for no reason, normal cause is a worn bearing causing the shaft to move out of centre and wearing the seal out, depending on the leak location could be a plug loose, a driveshaft bearing, a prop shaft bearing or simply a contaminated and damaged seal. Basically, take it to a transmission specialist and get a second opinion. Or if youre near north london, pop it down to me and ill spend 10 minutes and take a look and let you know if theyre having you on or if it truly needs looking at.
  2. It is normal and is explained in some handbooks. To avoid wear on the wiper blades, it will choose one of three possible park positions. Hence the twitch as it may move the blade to a higher or lower park position.
  3. The same thing at Northop services on the A55. 4x150 chargers are desperately needed on this trunk route. I have a feeling that Shell's contractors have stuffed up the DNO connection requests and as a result they have chargers hanging about waiting for a hook up to the grid. Local DNOs seem to be a real bottleneck in non-Motorway locations, so government need to step in to make sure these monopoly DNOs meet stringent time frames to install the connections needed to get the infrastructure installed. The leave it to the market approach does not work where there is no competition, but those in power conveniently ignore this fact (in many areas of life).
  4. Just for clarity, a DPF removes ash and soot from the exhaust gases. The soot is removed by the regeneration, often aided by a catalyst. In the case of PSA vehicles this is aided by injection of EOLYS fluid into the fuel tank. The fluid contains cerium compounds with lower the temperature requird to burn off the soot. I don't know whether VAG use a similar method, or whether it simply relys on getting the filter hotter. The problem with DPFs is ash. Ash is formed from the sulphur and phosphorus compounds found in oil. This is why low SAPs oils are required. This is not now confined to diesels as most, if not all, very recent petrol cars are fitted with a GPF. The ash cannot be burned out of the filter, and this may autimately block the filtedr, requiring either removing the filter and cleaning or a replacement filter.

OBD-II is the second version of the OBD standard, II being the Roman numeral for 2. https://www.geotab.com/uk/blog/obd-ii/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/On-board_diagnostics
  6. Supermarket charging is pretty much dead at the moment. ASDA have no interest (I've seen both PodPoint and BP charge posts "out of order"), Lidl have no interest except the rapids PodPoint installed. Other supermarkets I've tried without success are Waitrose, Marks & Spencer and Morrisons. I've never seen a charger at a Sainsbury. Aldi have been very unreliable but recently have improved and seem to be supporting the chargers in their car-parks to compete with Tesco, charging 25p/kWh via Shell Recharge around here. The Tesco PodPoint chargers seem much more reliable than other supermarket chargers and have never let me down in 2 years. Tesco is reasonably priced too at 28p.* The situation in the video is reprehensible though. On paper that area will be well served but so many out of order? Heads need knocking together. EDIT: Tesco price corrected, see below.
  7. Take a read of this SSP @ApertureS@JR RS https://procarmanuals.com/pdf-online-vag-ssp-406-dcc-adaptive-chassis-control/ I think they are pictured there.
  8. Yes it was a pleasant surprise thanks,I just paid them £20 for their time and effort.

So I’ve finally requested cancellation of my order today as the whole thing was becoming ridiculous - PHEV estate in race blue with tow bar, wireless charging, winter pack. I bought a Volvo V60, B4 MHEV estate with only 6500 miles instead. Happy days! 😁 I will probably never consider a Skoda again.
  10. I'd be very interested to hear how you find them. I've been thinking about fitting them to our Karoq 190 TDI for the same reason.
  11. Yes. Tvs stage 3 was done when i went stage 2 ecu Thats my engine tuning days done for life! Just got to order the correct rear eibach springs, as the ones i ordered were an inch too tall. 😠
  12. Mine has got the heated / memory seat option. A quick look under the seat shows a whole heap of different connectors. Which one in particular are you after?
  13. Yes I can burn CDR and DVD, sorry Varoom that I didn't reply earlier, I have just picked up your message
  14. Mine is same version, so probably has same trouble.
  15. S0069120020-Basic_equipment__From_March_2015 Date on the page 506/11 is 07.2019
  16. I contacted the Skoda dealer Faintree at Telford. Now have it booked in at their Shrewsbury centre and cost is £570 Guy said he thought he would never get anyone to pay £1000+
  17. Cheltenham is a bit of a run but do-able Thanks. I've tweeted to and emailed Skoda UK to ask why their servicing costs are 50% higher than Volkswagen. I always thought Skoda offered better value!
  18. i know it's not local to you, but the price is much better. https://www.pscautocentre.co.uk/products/audi-timing-belt-water-pump-replacement-petrol-engines-mqb-platform?variant=40099133587502
  19. Basically Skoda said up to £3000 to fix. When I said I would sell the car if it was that ballpark they told me not to worry about (literally). Never offered to top it up but as usual I spoke to the guy behind a desk, not the technician. Seen a couple of videos on the web for other VW group cars and looks pretty simple if you have a car lift....
  20. Nothing left plugged in ever, that I'm aware of. Another thing I meant to ask about; when I switch off the ignition, the wipers twitch. Every time. Is that normal, or something odd going on? May be completely unrelated...
  21. @MATT0693 is that your 2.0 TDI from 2016 and not a newer 1.6 TDI in a Karoq which Skoda discontinued?
  22. I've seen my DPF regenerate in as little as 80miles, that is with loads of short trips not allowing the car to reach full operating temp. I did a return trip to London on Saturday and it did 343miles between regens.. with mixed driving it is usually around 200miles between each. If your DPF health is already poor due to yours or the previous owners driving habits, the DPF will be less efficient and have to regen more often. I have the VAGDPF app, so I can monitor/check the DPF state, duration, distance etc - worth it for a couple of quid on the app store. If your figures all look ok then it could be an issue with a sensor, or just that your driving patterns don't suit the car.
  23. And I am proud to say I aced the baby shower's prediction competition over 50 other entrants! Got the sex (girl), birth date and height spot on, and was only 20 minutes out on birth time and 200 grams out on weight. Parents were a bit spooked out by the accuracy and the fact it was me, and my daughter thinks it is hilarious She is, of course, drop dead gorgeous but I may be a bit biased

In my experience all season tyres are more comfortable than summer tyres. That seems to be the general experience of most motoring press and drivers I know.
  25. There's a Shell petrol station at bottom of A1M Borehamwood. There used to be a single 50 Kw rapid charger, works okay. About a year ago they ripped it out and installed 8 newer 150 kw rapid chargers. But wrapped up "coming soon". It was like that for good few months. Makes you wonder, are fossil fuel companies deliberately being slow with providing this service? Or do they think a few months of downtime is absolutely fine? I've rarely seen petrol station pump broken down for more than a few days. Why is it okay to completely remove a charge location for months!?
  26. Thanks for that - exactly wat I was looking for cause I remember it having some diagrams that might help - I just couldn't find it. It shows the location of the accelerometers on pg 24 - G341, G342 and G343.
  27. Same battery drain with the alarm fuse removed, sadly. Was worth a try! Will check fuses and battery coding later, or tomorrow...
  28. You are right, my mistake. My local Tesco PodPoint is 28p, making the local Aldi look good value.
  29. You can remove all the top screws and to 4 in the wheel well behind the plastic. I left all the screws under the car in place then just pulled the bumper forward.
  30. After a pretty hectic couple of months of work and social activities things will subside enough for the next three weeks for me to catch up with things including exercise. The plan got off to a really good start with an 'early' morning 5km run last week, then went and got a whooping cough/diphtheria/tetanus vaccination (to protect my first and brand new grand-child) which made me disinclined to do anything for a few days, and then resumed running this morning followed by a relaxing paddle along the seashore. Of course I say running, but that is what I used to do before it slowed to jogging and I am not quite sure what to call it now....so 'running ' it is. Doctors appointment this afternoon for a precautionary checkup to make sure I'm ok to continue with my regimen, and since my last checkup was before Covid I have my fingers crossed for no surprises.
  31. That's the reality, unfortunately. There's more and more EV's on the road, the chargers are breaking down more often as they get more use. People running the stores are not interested enough to be on top of contract renewals or "service plans". So overall, now is the worst time to own EV without home charging. At very least the out of order ones are not on maps so it wouldn't waste people's time trying to find charging.
  32. Sorry, wrong information. Too many searching for my poor old tired brain. Rears 232mm x 9 mm exactly as @Carlstonsaid. By the way, @Carlston's info above are the most complete brake dimensions annex.

I fitted CrossClimate + to my Yeti just after I bought it 3 years ago. It came on fairly worn Michelin Pilot Primacy. I love the CrossClimates. I think it's fair to say they've transformed the ride, handling, road holding and steering feel. They charge through standing water without flinching. They're almost as good on snow as the Dunlop D5 Winter Sport we have fitted to the Karoq, only losing out a bit on braking in those conditions. The slightly rounded tread profile introduces a really nice feel to the steering. They also tolerate my enthusiastic cross country driving style and provide enough grip to deploy all 186 bhp and c. 300 lbs-ft through all 4 wheels on a regular basis. Now, there's the new CrossClimate 2 which is reputedly even better.

Hello and welcome! I hope you're enjoying Spain.
  35. Independents are going to be getting plenty 1.5 TSI ACT,s coming in and will be buying the tool. It will pay for it's self once they do a few jobs. This is just the start of the Audi, Skoda, SEAT & VW,s with the engines needing the job done.
  36. I'm impressed. The OLO was for One Lady Owner but could equally have been Loving Owner for all I can recall. CWW was mainly used for MGB's and prospective enthusiast owners would have recognised it as Chrome Wire Wheels.
  37. Please note - I am not a mechanic or expert in anything. If you get it back and the power steering light remains off provided it illuminates at turning ignition on to show the warning system is working and the steering operates and feels fine then the power steering is operating. From the 05.11 Owner's Manual.- Even though you have a new battery if the car has electrical problems especially with charging and you have been using the car then ask the garage to test the battery and make sure it's still in a good state of charge, as above if the battery is too low you will have problems with the power steering and other issues, possibly before you get any warning lights (as I probably put before).
  38. health club is too far down the listing anyway... i started putting the circuit sessions into an excel file as its easier to read. last 2 mondays - and today i got out for my run since early November! a sub 30min 5k shake down nothing spectacular, but its broken the hardest challenge - convincing myself to get my arse out of the bed early, gear and just bloody go. next challenge break the habit of internet scrolling in bed instead of going to sleep..
  39. It's the wide bars on an MTB that makes this difficult ............... my racer would go in quite easily. Certainly could not get my Scott Spark into my estate without removing the front wheel ......... As for my circa 25kg Scott Strike ........... not a chance, Lol.
  40. I also have an Impreza, not a spec C though.
  41. Highly depends on how much of a drop you're going for. On my sdi this height required shorter droplinks as the arb fouled the driveshaft on full lock. My vRS has shorter droplinks as it is much lower. Both are on the same ****e coilovers too.
  42. Known problem on lots of cars, the wireless chargers are powerful, and inductive charging creates heat. Great idea for quick top up of battery, but not suitable for anything bit longer. I no longer use mine because I don’t like the hot phone, solved it with low tech solution of 2 packets of polo mints in tray, phone goes on top and gets plugged in.
  43. What’s not to like about the Lake District. Cleared up later :)
  44. Another one from Knowlton Church a couple of days ago as storm clouds formed in the distance
