Well, all sorted. Pipe from turbo had come off, forced air had nowhere to go but into atmosphere, so sensors put engine into limp mode. Dealer refitted hose, cleared fault codes and test drove - all good. Best part - no charge!😀 Can’t beat Rainworth Skoda in Mansfield.
  2. Everything's started to spring into life in our garden. The Peony's are particularly vivid this year: Gaz
  3. I do as a matter of habit as it's what I was taught eons ago when I passed my test.
  4. Glorious at Rufford Park this evening and pleased to see both families are still around (10 & 4 goslings)🙂
  5. Get the 1.6tdi checked on VCDS for EGR, DPF and injector faults. And then reject it anyway because those faults will appear pretty soon anyway.
  6. A whole heap of things done on the camper: Dyed the front bumper Painted the grill New carpets New curtains Lots of welding (inner and outer sills, cross member, and arch repairs) MOT New worktop 4 new tyres New fresh water wipe Battery charger Vango air beam awning First trip away booked up, looking forward to it.
  7. My RS 9/2021 had Eagle F1 SuperSport. On dry roads were fantastic, in corners was like on rails. Nevertheless on wet was not so good and the noise was absolutely unbearable. I decided to switch them after 1,5 seasson to the Eagle F1 Assymetric 6 and I am really pleased right now. On dry almost same/wet noticeably better and the noise is perfection... Cannot be more happy about them. I am little bit worried about the wear, but we will see... I would recommend it to everyone. Right mix between sporty and comfy tire
  8. I get navigation on the VC with my iPhone (13 pro max) using Apple Maps. I’m guessing maybe the integration for Google maps and Waze on CarPlay isn’t there for the VC. If you want to use Apple Maps is a different story… but the directions do show on the Virtual Cockpit and the Heads-up display. hope this helps!
  9. Had high hopes for the sunset this evening, but it petered out🙁
  10. I've had c. 18 months of poor health; nothing that has proven to be critical or terminal so far but seriously debilitating. The weekend before last, I finally felt up attempting a short ride after almost 2 years off the bikes. Both my GS and X-Country have been fettled by a local BMW specialist and taken for MOT tests by my son, during this hiatus on my part. I decided to ease myself back into it by taking the X-Country out on some local backroads. I got all of 7 miles away from home when the red temperature warning light came on and the bike dumped all its coolant over my left leg and boot. A spring steel hose clip had failed and the hose between the radiator and engine had become detached. I was glad I'd worn my leather breeks and my Sidi Adventure boots when I could so easily have been out in motorcycle jeans and short boots. I was on my way to visit a friend whose birthday it was with a bottle of wine for him in my tank bag. I phoned him and he came out to rescue me in his old Saab 9000. He took me home, we picked up the Yeti and bike trailer and recovered the bike which has been sitting in the garage unloved ever since.

I do prefer it on the bigger screen, but unless there's an update I don't have yet, Gmaps does have the road speed limit, but mine definitely doesn't show my speed. As for waze, I have read a couple things on it, but I didnt seem too impressed. Not had as much time in the car as I'd like yet, but I probably will give it a try 👍
  13. Needs to be the right one of the two. Think it changed at some point in time, can't remember details just now. If you message me with your VIN I can look into it for you tomorrow.

Thanks @Fuzzarr there are a few things missing i wish it had, mainly blindspot indicators and reversing camera, but more luxuries than needs. @MarkyG82cheers bud. Obviously not to everyone's taste, but I think the colour looks amazing, especially cleaned up on a sunny day. I would have preferred an estate if I'm honest, but purely cos I think they look marginally nicer than the hatch, but its by no means a complaint. As for the android auto, got it all working no issues, but don't use it. I prefer Google maps straight from the phone, just cos it has real time speed and think it picks up more speed cameras. Something I need now more than ever 😕
  16. Turns out it was the voltage regulator giving too much voltage in spikes and systems were turning off to protect themselves. It was changed and it's been fine for about a month now.
  17. Software version configuration (SWK) for the front camera (A5). Tooks about 15 minutes.
  18. Breakers yard, or patience on ebay. Up until a year ago you could have bought a new one from dealership for £60 + VAT, so there may be some new old stock ones about, I guess.
  19. thats more clean than my past 🤌🦾

I'm not aware of any issues with noise in the 12V system, in this car or the many others I've owned caused by my dash cams, but the radio works fine........
  21. In my experience 15 minutes.....🤬
  22. Hi, you need to start your own thread as you will only confuse and dilute this thread, it's a for sale part of the Forum you have posted in.
  23. Ok, place your bets, how long until it rains or the birds $h*t on it?!??! 😆
  24. Is there Tesla superchargers near or en-route? Tesla network typically have lower price than public charging. ~40p/kWh off-peak (anytime other than the afternoon) for ones I looked. But it's normal for public network to charge over 60p/kWh for rapid charging. I agree the touch screen is not ideal for use when manually driving. But I've no problem using it when autopilot is engaged. They've recently added steering wheel button quick actions for to allow doing more stuff without poking at the touch screen: https://www.notateslaapp.com/software-updates/upcoming-features/id/1336/tesla-update-2023-12-a-look-at-steering-wheel-customization-and-text-size-adjustments Glad to see you've test driven them. Make sure you are happy with the stiff suspension on the Y. The best thing with Enyaq, for me, was the comfy ride. I've heard Ioniq 5 are similarly comfy.
  25. This weekend at a car show I was discussing with a Cupra country sales manager. Among other stuff I was asking why the PHEV's (of the VAG group in general) seem to be discontinued in Romania (e.g Octavia PHEV, Formentor PHEV, Golf GTE). He told me those were removed from the car-Configurators and orders were suspended for now, simply because there's an important components shortage for hybrids (not mild-hybrids, but the real ones). On a rather optimistic note, he was saying that they have high hopes they'll be able to accept PHEV orders before the end of this year.
  26. I suppose she will not want to be seen dead in a Dacia Jogger Hybrid. I think in Black or Silver they will make a good hearse. I will not be paying the crazy prices that they are getting to in the Northern parts of Scotland and without any improvements in the charger network.
  27. Exactly same for me, that's why I've gone with a Tesla for our long range car. Don't need dual motor I don't think, the acceleration is fun and relentless, but it's entirely optional. Some days I'd use no more than 100 kW (according to data logger). If I were choosing now, I would have bought the standard RWD. It's same car as LR, a little less performance, but due to being more efficient, its range is hasn't dropped by much. Everyone is different, it's worth test driving the cars and see which one makes you feel the best. I would not buy another ICE ever again, so PHEV are out for me. I didn't like Enyaq, feels too much like existing Skoda with batteries, not a bad thing for some people. I considered Kia EV6 but it didn't feel special enough, also some other minor niggles. Hyundai dealer just ignored my phone calls when enquiring about Ioniq 5. The purchase price back in mid-22 were similar across all 3 EV's when spec'd similarly. But Tesla has guaranteed access to their charging network.
  28. Thanks for your inputs. I managed to make the waze to provide the voice guidance eventually. But I am not completely sure that this is the resolution. The steps I performed were to uninstall the waze from iphone, then reinstall it. After that, I installed a completely different voice guide in English. And only after that I got back to Romanian directions. From that point, it worked without other issues. In English it worked without any hassle. The directions on VC are not appearing at all, but I never tried apple maps. Going to try that just to confirm if it is related to Carplay or not.
  29. The Parking Brake is tested at a MOT. The gearbox locking the front wheels in P is not.
  30. It's not that hard to adapt a battery in the car, and you could DIY this yourself (if you have access to these tools) You might lookup the VCDS user list on this forum to find someone local to assist for a beer token (and still save a load of money()
  31. It is the 1.4 petrol with the DQ200 (7 speed DSG)

Hi I am really sorry to hear this, I did wonder what they would do with the car we rejected and clearly they have just offloaded it. It was a massive hassle for us to sort so I feel your pain. I still don't understand how it is legal to have a car in the UK that is not specified as an Import when it was so clearly built for a different market. I am glad you got your money back and have a sorted a different "UK" model. We ended up with a well spec'd Edition and have come to terms with not having all the bells and whistles! I would also encourage people to check the sat nav of anything they look at and avoid anything called a "style" trim
  33. I bought access for a few hours to https://erwin.skoda-auto.cz/erwin/showHome.do when I got the car. Msg me on private and I can send you the manual for interior.

  35. Hi, From the repair manual it doesn't look like you need to do anything special in order to remove the vents.
  36. @MarkyG82 Hand / parking brake or even e-Brake / finger brake failure might not be that common. It is not Parking Brake failure if it is the brake applied with hot rear discs and then them cooling. Which is not uncommon. @octavia_vn67welcome to the forum. Is it a vRS you have and with a 6 speed wet clutch DSG so a DQ250?

Just to let others know, the Non-uk Kodiaq is still floating around dealers / british car auctions. I purchased a Kodiaq (Reg ends RNO) in January 2023 from a large 2nd hand car dealership in Wolverhampton, which I believe to be the one being discussed in December as the VIN code was similar and it had an Austrailian Sat Nav. After some investigation, I got the same information from Skoda and my local dealership as the original poster which allowed me to get a full refund. This was a hassle though as my original car had already been sold by the large 2nd hand car dealership. I had even had the vehicle history checked prior to buying with a large Motoring Assistance group but the search didn't pick up it was imported. A couple of things sparked my concern:- SAT NAV couldn't find some Large UK cities, Map pack was Rest of World. VIN number was near identical to report posted in this thread. Skoda UK stated that the car was first registered in the UK in November 2020 but it was built in June 2019 for the Austrailian market. First UK service was recorded as January 2022. Skoda dealer identified the trim as "Style" which is not a current UK trim level. The large group car dealer stated that BCA had no declared the import status to the dealer and they are now taking it up with the DVLA. I managed to source a replacement Karoq Sportline from my local Skoda Dealership but could have done without the hassle due to a serious family illness. As the original poster stated the Kodiaq was a fine vehicle and a lovely trim level but with Skoda themselves highlighting issues it became too much of a risk to take on when viewed with other events. So the lesson I learnt here was to have a good check of the infotainment system / features for any oddities compared to UK spec.
  38. Hi all, Just joined the world of Skoda and have been impressed so far with my Skoda Karoq Sportline. Had a couple of hiccups on the journey with an imported Kodiaq that wasn't declared by 2nd hand large dealer. That got resolved and then I moved onto the Karoq (minor issue with key activation but fixed by my patient local dealership. Very impressed so far after moving away from Nissan and Honda. Looking forward to more journeys ahead.
  39. @J.R. a 2018 model car is an EA288 engine (Euro 6 emission compliant) not the EA189 (Euro 5) engine that was affected by "emissions fix" scandal. @aidy55 TDI timing belt is "recommended" at 60k miles or 5 years, prices vary between ~ £400 and £650 depending on where you go (independent to main dealer).
  40. I've not done this job myself before, but sometimes there will be alignment marks on the pump and tank that have to face each other. Or is it possible that there a seal that is getting traped.

New exhaust rubbers, psb rear arb bushes and some new smoked dynamic wing mirror indicators today. I do miss having a driveway since we moved but it won't fix itself lol. All new arms, bolts, nuts and washers for the rear ready to go on when I've sourced a rear subframe to get blasted and powdercoated to build back up rather than have the car off the road. Still need to get a few new subframe bolts too.
  42. And a few from this afternoons visit to Attenborough nature reserve...........
  43. With something of a sense of guilt, given everyone's kind efforts, I'm popping back to say that I still haven't changed the car. The worrying noises coming from the Mk2 turned out to be a (somewhat dangling) water pump. With that sorted it's really hard to find a reason to get rid of this car. Despite being 13 years old, it's incredibly reliable, it's regularly giving me over 45 mpg, it takes whatever loads you throw at, the cabin is actually really nice (I'm still obsessed with the fact that the Mk3 loses the door card fabric and the right foot rest). I still think that when it dies it will get replaced by a Mk3 (so the advice remains helpful). But with the cost of every being so high currently, even 'man maths' can't make me part with a great car for something largely unknown. I was such a car guy. I never imagined I'd keep a car for over a decade!

Maybe they re-installed the air vent hole on another car as part of its de-commissioning 🤣 Gaz

Been a while. Always wondered why we couldn't feel any air coming through the roof vent so decided to check......sure that's supposed to be cut in especially being a dog unit. Standard Exhaust snapped while doing a tip run so took a punt on the gravity stainless, lovely fitting bit of kit and sounds nice too. I'll be ordering their sports cat soon. Got a box full of new bits to tidy up the underneath, all new rear arms and I'll be on the lookout for a subframe and arb to get blasted and powdercoated so it's all fresh. Got a bag full of bolts, nuts and washers from tps to replace all those just need to order up the subframe bolts and I'll do the deadset kit while I'm there. Then onto the front. Hopefully the next few months I'll be swapping out the nasty stance+ coils for some bc's and it'll be booked in for paint (fingers crossed).
  46. Drilling - no. There is already a hole big enough for one finger to fit through. Lift up the carpet felt and u'll c it in the corner. Dismantling - yes. Need to remove the rear air vents so u can access behind the rear storage compartment. U then need a hook wire thingy to put through the hole from the armrest storage compartment, downwards, which u'll c come out behind the rear storage compartment, and pull through the USB cable.

There she is, for anyone interested

    It is plug & play.
  49. Would you be able to write up how to do this? It looks amazing and I need it
  50. Do you have the correct BCM? If not, that’ll need changing too. 5Q0937084CG or DD is good along with some others but 084CF is no good. If you have Pin 29 on connector C you are good. Floor lights are a must too IMO.
