  1. hours lost with that configurator haha
  2. It’s a pity that the car doesn’t adjust them automatically based on its sat nav location data. Not rocket science, my previous car (Volvo) did just that.
  3. Factory rims (ET44) with spacers.... Aftermarket rims (ET35), no spacers.... Both r with 245/40R19 tyres.
  4. My MK3 Superb changed the lights (not LED Matrix, obviously) for driving on the right and the speedometer and so on to metric automatically when I took it to Europe, I think it may have been linked to the sat-nav. I was hoping my MK4 would do the same as I intend to take it abroad at some point.
  5. Thank you! I found it fitting to add a list of currently compatible Skoda models to the OP, so that can be found at the bottom of the post. Gen5 Haldex introduces a lot more model variants like the Kodiaq and Karoq. Gen5 is still in development! We've got an Audi RS3 with Gen5 for a test car at the moment. Who said product development couldn't be fun? 😀
  6. I did but nothing changed
  7. Ooooo fresh site sponsor! Well done @fa-callum 👍🏻
  8. It's just to let the charging system know that it's a new battery otherwise it will charge it the same as the old battery which may shorten the new batteries life. When I fitted mine using Carista all I did was to change the serial number by one from the old one as my battery was NSN.
  9. Just wanna say hello with my '18 Superb 😉
  10. Thank you alasdair I have made contact with breezy Pete many thanks
  11. Here you go., 2026 MY...
  12. Hard to say from the video. Try using Super Unleaded petrol for a tankful or two. See if the noise disappears after the second fill up.

Hi, welcome. f you have not already seen it, as well as all the other subjects sections and forums on this website, there's a Superb section and forums for models of Superb. - 'Škoda Superb' - https://www.briskoda.net/forums/forum/171-%C5%A1koda-superb/ HTH.
  16. There's lots of choice for aftermarket wheels which follow the approved VAG wheel dimensions & ET. You'll find they are 1/4 to 1/3 of the price of OEM wheels. These are my winter wheels which were €100 per corner. €220 per corner with premium Conti Winter tyres plus fitting balancing and delivery..
  17. Thanks both for the info. Sounds as if I’m good to go!

  19. Sorry @Evolution13 not sure if I was clear - the one-day-old Enyaq drove brilliantly and felt right, so assume the tyre pressures were correct, as it didn't feel like there was anything wrong with it. It was the 4k miles Kia EV5 that drove really badly and was fidgety and crashy, so maybe the sales manager never checks his tyres, but as I say there were no warning lights on. Whatever, it was in a different league to the Enyaq...a few below. And believe me, I wanted to love the EV5 after my awful experience with the Arteon, so I'm not being a Skoda fanboy here! Cheers! Nick
  20. I would normally agree, however the Enyaq had only been registered the day before, and I was the second person to test drive it, whereas the the EV5 was the sales manager's own car and just over 4k miles on it! Either way, even if the EV5 didn't have the correct tyres pressures (which I guess they were, as it was the only driver assist system not bonging at me during the drive!), it was so uncomfortable I couldn't have had it! Cheers
  21. If your evaporator starts leaking, you'll know the reason. Aluminium isn't the most corrosion resistant material out there, so I'd be careful using anything but A/C cleaners.
  22. I've got a facelift 85x Sportline. Drives incredibly well, smooth, fast 'enough' obviously super responsive. The seats are a masterpiece IMHO, super comfortable, supportive, heaters work well. Heated steering wheel is the 'silly option' which is turns out I love. Range is good, sub 5c it's okay, 10c it's good, looking forward to some warmer weather to see what it can do. Surprisingly agile for a 2t SUV. Canton system sounds great. Wireless Apple Play is quick to connect at works well. I think it looks great. It's easier to list the things I don't like, this is really nit picking as I'm ADHD and I notice EVERYTHING, stuff most people wouldn't notice or care about: The seat massager button is in an odd place, feels like an after-thought. It also takes a really long time to start working which makes me think I haven't quite pressed the button. The Auto boot opening thing doesn't seem to work for ages even if I've going at it like Michael Flatley, but walk around the back of it to get to the drivers door and every single time without fail it'll open when I don't want it to. I'll turn the function off if I ever remember. There's nowhere in the boot or filler door to store the ice scraper, major Skoda Faux Pas! No Sunglass storage in the ceiling. Infotainment is complex and illogical with two 'home' menus, one is for the car, the other seems to be for the infotainment, but some functions don't sit where I would put them. Screen points slightly toward the passenger. Skoda dealer told me it was to encourage the passenger to do that so the driver can concentrate on driving, but I know it's because they didn't change it when the made the RHD ones. Heads-up appears to be slightly skew, but it might be because the dash curves. Meteor grey is super boring IMHO, everyone else seems to love it, but I don't. It's the only option I could get to keep the RRP below £50k for the tax break. The rear of the vehicle is a generation behind the front in terms of looks. They say the wireless charging mat is cooled, I'm not sure that's true, I believe there's just a vent to the normal HVAC output so in winter it's actually heated, but I can't be sure. Only one my phone complained it was too warm to charge wirelessly.
  23. Looking forward to reading on here anything that is new on the Truth about electric cars, vans, lorries, busses etc. Real stuff about them as transportation.
  24. The topic is 'the truth about EVs'. Nobody has the time or the inclination to read or watch all the guff that's posted in it. I suggest people get back to the original topic.
  25. Unless you adjust the tyre pressures of Demonstrators i would not take the car as being representative. Often the tyres are over inflated even at the PDI, or not adjusted from being 'In transit', some might even do it to have a PHEV / BEV appear more efficient. Youtube reviewers/ Vloggers, Motoring Journalists are bad for never checking or adjusting Tyre Pressures, as to Sale People, unlikely they do.
  26. The only alarm - orange warning- was the emissions one which looks to me a bit like an engine block! I do often just fill to the brim but surely that shouldn’t cause a major failure?
  27. Thanks @TheAardvark , appreciate your comments! Thanks also @Evolution13 , it's the perfect question, and height isn't so important; I've got the dimensions and weights of the biggest boxes I'll be carrying and they'll go into the i5 no problem, and it may even be better due to the extra length. The only problem I have now is that my local BMW dealer are trying to locate a demonstrator for me, and are going to call back today as I think they're getting one from BMW UK...I looked on the lease company last night, and all of sudden the great deal on the one model is showing up as 'Hurry, only a few left.' with only 2 colour options available, so may miss out. Anyway, I booked a couple of test drives last week. I was pleasantly surprised with the Enyaq - got an hour with it so took it down the motorway and back via country lanes and villages, so it got a proper mix. It drove really well, the driver aids weren't intrusive, VAG have obviously listened to customers, as there are direct shortcut buttons on the touchscreen to disable lane departure and speed limit warnings. Seats were comfy, it was almost silent with the double-glazed windows, handled well, was composed, pulled like a train(!) and seemed very well put together. The steering wheel being covered in physical buttons was great. On to the Kia, which I was hoping would be the one, especially when I saw it and got in it - it looks brilliant in my opinion, better than the Enyaq, however...I couldn't get a comfortable driving position, and had to get out and stretch my legs halfway through the test drive, and by the time I returned it, I had a dead right calf, foot and numb-bum. Driving-wise (I did the exact same route as with the Enyaq, BTW), it was fidgety, squirmy, constantly correcting itself with the lane assist, constantly bonging at me to look forwards whenever I looked in my mirrors/was watching out for traffic, crashy over bumps didn't have the pull of the Enyaq, but had loads of torque-steer when I did put my foot down. Such a disappointment!
  28. Personally, I would be a bit wary of the 1.5TSI as it seems that a lot of those models are still causing trouble but I am sure some will say they are now fine. He would need to do a longish test drive on various roads with roundabouts and junctions to fully test out the various situations that problems may occur. I think that most people would imagine that the 1.0TSI would be gutless, but it isn't! Its worth a test drive to see. It all depends on your sons driving style and where most of his journeys are, but I have absolutely no regrets with mine. Also it has none of the problems associated with the 1.5TSI. I wish him well in finding a good one as they are brilliant cars.
  29. @Evolution13 😁This shows you are still missing the point of the video; it shows the wind in London is strong even by tall buildings and the sides of them, etc. As I tried to explain, air still flows around all sides of a building. Also, Regent Street just happens to be a bus- and taxi-only road at certain times of the road. So no standing traffic pumping out fumes, etc. It really does pay to look over the wall before jumping over it also to look under the rock to see what is lurking there. I'm not in the habit of saying things unless I do some basic research. Incidentally, the last 3 links below indicate that domestic heating, cooking, etc. produce 50% of the PM2.5 particulates. This also backs what I have repeatedly claimed in the past about reading the figures coming from the official air monitoring stations, and those that are showing very high readings just happen to be located in either residential areas, adjacent to tube stations, or close to places where commercial cooking is taking place, e.g., cafes, etc., as they have large extraction fans sucking the smell and fumes out of the premises and into the outside air, often within a metre or so away from the inlet to the monitoring station. I have spent plenty of time looking at these on Google Earth Street View, so there can be no other explanation for it. The YouTube vlogger Brown Car Guy even managed to demonstrate that inside your home is way more dangerous than being outside where the prevailing breeze etc wafts the particulates away; inside it is many times higher than the legal limits and is not being extracted. Once again, many people dismissed his findings with the monitoring meter because they did not go along with the narrative. But it seems that very few people are prepared to check if the official narrative is anywhere near factual, or is it just a blind to achieve another goal? 30. Probably best you replaced both, some folks say you can recover the cannister by an air purge. Was there any warning on the dashboard about the failed N80 valve? Do you, by chance, habitually brim the tank when you refuel? I've heard that this is not a good idea due to the evap cannister.
  31. @CubbyQ Do you have to carry taller loads? Because there is supposedly just 10 litres more load capacity in the Skoda over the BMW with the rear seat folded, but it does depend who the numbers come from.
  32. 1 point
Yeah, this one doesn't have rear view camera, so that means if I reverse to the right and want to see kerb, I have to dip the mirror manually?
  33. There’s a lot of fuss made over the reduction in physical buttons in these cars. Professional journalists who are loaned a car for a few hours describe their frustration with a lack of switches and buttons. They’re correct is saying that the complex deep menus on the touch screen aren’t easy to use whilst driving and trying to focus on the road. What they seem to have missed is the voice control, “Hey Laura, turn on the heated rear window”, “Hey Laura, what’s the oil level?” And so on. It’s much easier than they make out. I can’t comment on the specifics of the facelifted Enyaq other than to confirm that my observations are the same as yours: lots and lots of happy owners. Good luck,
  34. 1 point
only one mirror will dip, the passenger side. not both. no u can't change it so BOTH mirrors dip. the seat controller module simply won't let u do that.
  35. 1 point
Assuming it is a RH drive car, the passenger mirror dips to allow the driver to see the edge of the kerb, when parking. The rear view camera is designed to give an overall view behind the car.
  36. Yes what a shame but the SD card option showing covers is a good compromise I think. Thanks for all the help!
  37. Totally get the tangible feel of a CD in a cover, unfortunately VW group moved away from that a while back. I really miss my 6 disc changer and single cd Sony headunit in my old car with the infinity speakers I put in the doors, it sounded very good. In my wife's car I find the sound a bit flat when connected via android auto, Bluetooth is better, CD much better. Sorry that we cannot offer any better options, they integrated so much into these infotainment units with functions to see service info adjustments to lights wipers etc, you cannot easily change it all out without loosing functionality you still need 😕
  38. If it is this unit and you play from sd card you should see the covers
  39. Mib2 Start Facelift O3. My 2015 Mk3, MY16 (pre-facelift) has MIB2, I believe MIB2 was introduced after MY15.
  40. Passenger side can work from its own switch for 10 minutes after first powered up (refitting its fuse, or reconnecting car battery) but after that if it doesn't get any communication from driver's side motor module, it goes to sleep. I will message you @OG-Skoda since you don't have enough posts yet to send a message.
  41. @Evolution13 oh yes leafy boulevards and tree lined residential areas. 🤣 Try Regents Street, as in this video; look at the flowers in the florist's doorway, halfway through the video, right in the heat of the shopping area.
  42. This is the answer. ^^^^^^^ You can even put separate folders of his and her music on it so she can just play her own cds
  43. So, just replaced the seal, easy to fit! Excuse the mess, I'm re-using the paper for spraying purposes! 🙂
  44. While this video is made around our Skoda Yeti, I believe that most of the video is applicable for any DPF equipped Skoda 😊. This video is jam packed full of information! From what "the fix" is on a Skoda Yeti. I also run through the VAG DPF app and what it's telling you and then use it to show what the DPF is doing as your drive and why short runs in a diesel Skoda filled with a DPF do it no good. 😊
  45. I did it on my car also, but almost everything came back when I logged back in as main driver 🤔
  46. The only place worth going to. https://www.skoda-parts.com/catalog/superb-3/spare-parts/accessories/foot-mats-770.html
  47. @pab567 I also have just bought a 2015 and have found it fitted with Mirror link. Could you give me some more information about how to upgrade and fit the new unit?
  48. I had problems with the parking brake which turned out to be a faulty switch - the one to apply/disengage the brake manually in the centre console near the cup holders. The parking brake still worked automatically, as normal, when shifting into/out of park (DSG gearbox), but didn't respond to the switch and threw the error message you're getting. I seem to remember that it caused the cruise control to stop working too. Replacement switch (which is a 3 switch panel, including the Auto hold switch to the left and the door lock?? switch to the right) solved everything.
  49. I have just fitted the Sinosmart reverse camera and the info in this thread was invaluable. notes:- 1) make sure you check which camera you order, I was sure I had ordered the correct one and it was only when i checked tracking that i found i had ordered cam C !! for me it should have been Cam B Contacted Sinosmart and they asked me to fit the quadblock and the camera that they had sent when it arrived to check everything worked ( only the camera shapes are different) Did this and they said they would send me a replacement camera only for £10 but the del date ws 26th may , however it actually arrived on 17th may. 2) Fitting : ( sorry no pics). I had already fitted the quad lock by this point and left the camera and cable in the glove box (hardest bit of this was getting the removal tool out of the right hand side of the media unit, but follow instruction earlier in this thread - need a bit of jiggery pokery to get it out ). Pop the lower trim off the tail gate and remove the slow close mechanism ( 3 off quarter turn locks) the most difficult part of this was getting the old boot handle out , not a lot of room and in hindsight really needs a right angled pick to press the tabs in . once out easy enough . Pop out the rubber gaiter at the top of the tailgate ( make sure you get the hard plastic parts out with the gaiter as it is impossible to get the rubber back on while in place , i did get them out after feeding the wire through and reattached before popping back in on completion. make sure you have a curtain rod before you start ----- ( 89p from B&M !!) to feed through the tailgate up to the first hole. gently pull cable through spray rubber gaiter with silicon spray ( tip from earlier this thread) so much easier to get it through the rubber. push curtain rod through hole and into cabin behind quarter panel ( quarter panel pops off very easily and draw cable through again use curtain rod to fish down to bottom of door channel ( just prise up slightly with trim tools. and pull camera cable through . the curtain rod can be used from here to feed right along the channel under the trim bypassing the B piller and beyond to the Front passenger door trim pull cable though to here . Again use curtain rod but this time feed down from behind glove box and in to channel below passenger door , tape camera cable to it and gently pull through . connect cables and bingo working camera . This was when i found that the gaiter at the tailgate would not slip back on to the plastic clips in the holes . I had to prise them both out and then refit the rubber to them before they could be popped back in easily . Check all your connections and trim is secured and you should be good to go. probably took me about 2-2 1/2 hrs to complete including the hassle of getting the handle out and the gaiter back in so a small price in time and cost to get a working camera Thank you to every before me on this thread as it made me confident that i could get this done and i hope that my small contribution helps someone else One other thing , i was impressed by the service from Sinosmart as i did not expect any real assistance when i had the issue with the wrong camera ( MY FAULT) and fully expected to have to buy a whole new set up , so 5 stars to them for their assistance.
  50. You have to make it "ave it!" I too thought mine was broken. Like so many of the plastic clip together parts on our cars they are so reluctant to lose their virginity that we often give up for fear of breaking something or thinking there is another fastener we have overlooked. Once they know who is boss they become compliant.
