  1. Thank you. I found the exact location that the original was taken (thanks to Google street view). I'd post it here but fear that my sheer animal magnetism would disrupt some Briskodian marriages 🤓
  2. Nice to know that my build thread might still be of use to people. It's still doing its job and looks just as good now as the day I finished it.
  3. Washed the 280 for the first time in a couple of months. Bloody Sahara dust. It’d stopped beading so it needed a new coating of ceramic wax. I use Turtle Wax Ceramic. I also replaced the air quality sensor with a Chinese “copy” (are they, or are they actually pattern parts?) unit I bought from Ali two or three years ago, as I knew it’d fail at some point. I think it was £13, maybe less. Anyway it works perfectly.

So, an update. On Tuesday afternoon I was going to change the air quality sensor so, as I always do when changing something, I disconnected the battery. Unfortunately, I ran out of time, so I left the battery disconnected overnight. I replaced the sensor and reconnected the battery in the morning and cleared the normal illuminations on the dash. After about 15 mins of driving, I heard the confirmation “bong” for something and my seat then moved to my saved driving position. No idea if the battery disconnection reset the seat module, especially as it’s probably not a permanent live unit. Still, it’s up-and-running again so that’s a ridiculous sum saved for a new or used module and a contortionist job avoided to replace it!
  5. Lots of big fat elephants of cars about and the can be any drive train or fuel. Too big for parking spaces in many many cases. Taxing them by Gross Weight is what is needed, especially as Really BIG EV,s can be under £50,000, now even under £40,000.
  6. Sounds like a decent roadtrip. Sorry for losing your wife. Hope you got the photo you were after 👍🏼
  7. I wanted to thank @Breezy_Pete for his patience with me going off on a little wild goose chase and for providing the info that stopped me. Thank you very much, Sir.
  8. Quick update: That is the sensor in question, I crawled under the car today and disconnected it and scanned it with VCDS and now I have NOx Bank 1 Sensor 3 No Communication, after reconnecting the sensor, everything is fine. I will let you know once I change it with the CB sensor

That applies to most cars from 2010MY onwards, no one has yet, I think, built up enough data to support that not getting re-coding done saves or costs you more money over the life of that next battery - I just play safe or do as advised and always perform re-coding.
  10. Why i said OT. Nothing here in this thread about fires, maybe because you never posted recently on fires, just JLR & @lol-lol on Stellantis, so i posted about Stellantis ICE vehicles. Recalls left right and centre across makers including VW group and BEV,s.
  11. I wonder if dropping the main power plug out of the module for a day or two would do the same. Assume it would throw up a couple of codes when unplugged but might be a bit of a hard reset for it.
  12. Where did this fire thing come from? Nobody is talking of fires.
  13. OT in EV section, but Stellantis have a lots of ICE vehicles to have recalled because of the risk of catching fire..
  14. Mine does, but I do a LOT of very short journeys. Mind you, only around a 1/4 ltr. in 2/3k.
  15. Latest Updated Speedcams - April, 2026. Here goes - Happy Easter lol. Once again here's the latest update of my customised version of EUR Speedcams ( April, 2026 ). They consist of the full EUROPE speed cameras which I've split up into four consolidated poi categories i.e. Redlight Speedcams, Fixed Speedcams , Average Speedcams ( which also include European tunnel speedcams ) and Variable Speedcams. They come supplied with my own preferred personal choice of icons, shown below, to match each of the speedcam categories. Remember to Install them as I explained in the first post in this thread i.e. after extracting the zip file remember to open the newly extracted folder and place only the PersonalPOI folder and metainfo2.txt file onto your sd card ( Please Note: a usb stick will not work! ). Also, please remember to select/tick the relevant newly added poi categories and the poi audible warning alert in your infotainment map menu settings after performing the update or they will not display on your map or audibly alert you. Hope you all enjoy them! EUR Speedcams - April, 2026.zip * Once again credit goes to jungblume2005 from Gpsurl for sharing his files which I borrowed and then converted in order to make this compilation.
  16. Everything can be done/changed. But honestly, I don't remember all the details... I can send you a link to the instructions, but they're in Russian. The image was adjusted to match the car's appearance.

Yes, if you have the smaller discs, to move up to 288mm discs will mean changing the knuckles. 288mm discs and the associated calliper will still allow you to use 15” wheels. My wife’s 2015 Polo 1.2TSI 110pS has 288mm front discs from factory and 16” alloys, but I use 2013 15” alloys in winter.
  18. I don’t think so but it would be understandable for any engine to use a tad.

    Hello, welcome.
  20. Sounds relevant. Hopefully others with similar cars can comment. Your fuel consumption sound ridiculous.
  21. Apprx 22 degrees C. Normally 20 to 40 kms per day comprising of one or two short trips 10 to 25 kms. No Stop/Start available. 95 mainly, occasionally 98 RON. Tried Normal & Comfort and it seems to make little difference. Had the sensor changed recently on catalytic converter - not sure if that's relevant or not.
  22. Can of worms. So they tend to refer to VW 504 (which is paired with 507 as the diesel equivalent). It’s 5w30 Longlife but it wasn’t always. Google AI mentions low SAPS formula protecting emissions for the benefit of GPFs/DPFs so it may have been that since DNUA engine codes (EA888 Gen 3 with the GPF) onwards. Fairly sure if you search you can find people quoting VW504 as previously having at least a different viscosity. Either that or early (ie pre-GPF) 280s had a different oil requirement.
  23. I've just got back from an 800 mile round trip to Scotland to recreate a photo from 30 years ago that my late wife took. Sadly I had nobody to take it for me this time so there was a bit of leaping into place after starting the self timer. I used ACC in anger for the first time and it worked a treat on the way up on Sunday and most of the way back - I disabled it on the busy bits of the M1. Apart from when it mis-detected something as another vehicle and braked hard at 70mph. Which was nice 🫨 37mpg up. 40mpg back.
  24. I've gone out and checked. It's in the air conditioning settings. Click the heater button to load up the heating/air con panel, top right click the cog. Under air-conditioning settings there is 'Switch on at start of journey depending on temperature' > Seat heating > Level 2. I didn't check but I guess you can turn it off, or to level 1, 2 or 3.
  25. I don't really mean to nit pick but your initial response of 31/3/26 was to lay the blame on a "Central European Manufacturer" being unable to engineer a solution for a problem which must occur everywhere in Europe, every single year. In effect engineer a solution for regularly varying climatic conditions. Perhaps you were simply attempting irony ?

The seat memory unit has gone kaput in the last couple of days… more bloody expense.
