  1. Yes, 500KG or thereabouts would be my normal towing...a Honda 2417 ride on Mower, rarely anything heavier, but its essential that I be able to move it around. Thanks and Best Regards, Jim
  2. Same here do everything myself if I can. All my cars are old and average garage bill would be more than there worth plus if you do it yourself you know its been done right with no missing washers and everything put back etc. Alasdair
  3. The biggest saving grace for me is I do all the work myself, I cannot imagine the cost of doing all of this at a garage, spent 3 hrs diagnosing alone yesterday. I intend to document the process I went through and hopefully the solution once its resolved to hopefully help others, although there seems to be so many similar issues around cooling systems!
  4. Had one years ago that wasn't leaking but for some reason letting air into system and emptying expansion tank. I assumed HG failure but no exhaust gases and leak down test was good. Hope you get to the bottom of the problem. Alasdair
  5. Its got 3 pumps, one mechanical (but with the electric shroud), that one is brand new and appears to be functioning as expected, there is an electric one that feeds the egr cooler I think and you can hear that one running and the final electric one is under the oil filter housing and that one makes no noise at all, so leaning towards that one being an issue.
  6. Local DVSA offices were closed in 2013.
  7. There are two Auto relocking methods 1) Walk-Away autolock which locks as soon as the key is out of range. As discussed above this is only available with later Kessy systems and if it is fitted then there is an option in the settings Vehicle > Exterior Settings > Opening and Closing, to toggle Walk-Away Locking . 2) Passive auto relock This should work on all Karoqs If you unlock the car using the remote or by touching the handle sensor, but do not open any of the doors within a specific timeframe (usually 30 to 45 seconds), the car will automatically lock itself again.
  8. Mine was bought as a service car with 27k kms, didn't have wrinkles, but after 3k kms more it started to get as yours.
  9. ^^^ Of no interest or relevance to many if not all BEV / PHEV drivers without home charging availability.
  10. As you say, the glovebox does not appear to be listed separately. All I can suggest is try fuses: Interior lighting. Alternatively Interior lighting in front, microphone, operation of the sliding/tilting sunroof. Hope this helps.
  11. @MonkeyBoy2283 OTA does work for some updates without anyone logged in. I had a loan Octavia a few years ago that was brand new. There was only a guest user present. Within hours of me driving it, it was prompting to install various app updates. Things like map updates I would say a primary user would be required as it would need to check that you were subscribed to the service first. I would also be inclined to try another dealer. It's not good that they are making up false statements in an attempt to get out of doing the updates that should've been done before you were given the keys. If you post the area you live, then some people on here may be able to recommend a good dealer. I had this issue with being unable to login as primary user in 2023. The symptoms were the same as what you are experiencing. It was a known issue and the dealer resolved it fairly quickly with an update. OTA updates with the early cars are a bit of a mystery. Some forum members received them, but many didn't. My car has never received a "big" update such as infotainment or OCU. It receives app updates and map updates. I was told once the infotainment was taken to 1941 it would receive and apply the bigger updates. But it never has. The OCU has now been updated to 0311, so maybe it will going forward but I'm not hopeful. But certainly if your car is only very early software across all modules, it will need them updated before it stands a chance of receiving anything bigger going forward.

  13. What is annoying is that I cannot replicate the condition when stationary, but I did have the temperature showing on the infotainment screen on one of the trips and it never waivered from 90degs.
  14. I have the same hardware as you and I went from 1896 > 1941 > 1989, if that's any help
  15. Hi

Hi, Have a Skoda Superb B8, drove them for years as company cars and enjoyed them. Have one all to myself now.
  16. I don think he is. Just showing a little surprise at what his car might have as standard extras that Skoda have potentially added to the spec of his car.
  17. Hope its fairly easy to get to. Might be worth checking egr cooler one as well. It may be running with no impellers left. Alasdair
  18. Does sound like a water pump failed. Not unknown for the impellers to disintegrate. Only other thing I can think of is a clogged rad or major airlock somewhere. Not sure if the main is electrical or belt driven on yours but it does sound like one or both have failed. Alasdair
  19. Hopefully it will be the circ pump.
  20. Fixed by dealer under warranty. Faulty fuel tank pressure sensor.
  21. Had a quick google and found this from post code as just phone number but no address details on google search. Could be VOSA offices as well. VEHICLE TEST STATION .PCO.DFT - VEHICLE AND OPERATOR SERVICES AGENCY VEHICLE TEST STATION CROSSHILL ROAD GLASGOW G64 2QA 0141 772 6178 Might be worth a try.or someone may be able to help out. Alasdair
  22. @Evolution13 - I kind of accepted the car :). It's been with me since May 21st. It's my fault that I didn't mention it when I picked up the car from the dealer, but, in my defense, I had no prior experience with leather seats, so I thought it was just a temporary issue. Well, it's not... Regarding your note about warm conditions, the car is parked underground, and the temperature is around 20 degrees. It went outside only a few nights. I noticed, though, that the problem wasn't as obvious after 2 days of sitting in the hot weather outside. Wondering if controlled heating of the chair would solve the issue.
  23. @Evolution13 ah, sorry, my mistake. Anyway, the local APR service technician recommended this fuel to me
  24. You need to have travel assist turned on. When on this screen use the scroll wheel to turn on travel assist. It will show up to 3 lanes depending on the road you are on (it doesn’t always show multi lanes) and will show vehicles in other lanes like your image.
  25. So I spent some time at my mates tonight and got it on the lift, no leaks externally. However the main radiator is not getting hot and the pipes for that also remain cool. There is coolant in the pipes but it’s not getting circulated. We’re going to test the front electric water pumps but I melted my code reader in two and my mates is form 1960 I think, so he’s going to bring one back form his work (he’s a mechanic) so we can see if that’s working. Also suspect a possible issue with the thermostat, so making progress but more questions than answers. Going to replace the charge air cooler and thermostat anyway and then see where we get to. I’m not driving it anymore until I get a resolution though. At this rate I might as well replace the engine and be done with it lol.
  26. Germany is struggling to keep the car industry afloat.
  27. I just read Mat Watson's review of the new MG S9. (PHEV) 'German quality, Chinese price.' I hope they are doing better than many products that there are from German Manufacturers these days.
  28. You are right. I wasnt using the acc at the same time. Now I am and it works 🙂 thanks.
  29. OK, so you can tow up to 2000kg braked trailer provided your rear axle weight does not exceed 1340kg.
  30. Good. I cant open that but that's OK. EDIT, got it on a phone.
  31. So after 9 yrs, my oil filter housing started to show signs of an oil leak, all around the base of it. Gandalf wasn't loosing any oil though, based on the dipstick levels. Suspects include cracked oil filter housing, however the weeping was consistent all round it; or the oil filter internal valve adaptor, which the old versions r known to fail. The part has since been revised. or cracked oil filter housing O-ring. Based on that, I decided to replace the internal valve filter and oil filter housing. Parts:- Oil Filter Housing - 06L115401L Updated version, comes with oil filter and O-ring. Oil Filter valve - 06L115678Q Revised and updated version. Whilst I was at it, I also replaced the oil cap. Time to monito now and see if there r any new signs of oil weeping or misting. Fingers crossed.
  32. I've always used E5 petrol since owning a Škoda. In your opinion if I use the engine more should it cure the problem.
  33. That didn't worked out for me, but solution I found in audi forums worked well in my case. Here it is: "Turn ignition on All the way down, press 5 times down, hold it for 3sec at 5th time. All the way up, pull 5 times up hold it for 3sec at 5th time. Do it for all the windows."

Unrelated (hopefully!) to my faulty light problem, in the past few days I think the tone of my exhaust has changed and it sounds deeper. Whilst I was fiddling around with the lights, I gave the exhaust a push and noticed that it was swinging from side to side. Is it supposed to do this?! If not, what might the problem be?

    So, why are you complaining?
