  1. Looks like the new Jaguar launch is tonight at 01:00! It's in 'Murica, hence the daft time. Great British brand, owned by India, launching in America. Well at least we are keeping it in former colonies.
  2. Sad day. Today I signed on the dotted line and my Mk3 will be part ex. One of the last Mk3's 2024 registered 2.0TSi L&K with Factory Optioned 19's and Massage Seats and only 11900 miles currently. Fully paint corrected and ceramic coated, not a scratch or swirl mark. It's never missed a beat. So why is it going? We have a holiday home on the coast and a few days away is now costing £50 in fuel. I have solar at home and can charge for virtually nothing with favourable weather or £6 for 300miles otherwise. And I fancy a change. So next week I'll be collecting an Enyaq Coupe vRS. 340PS 679NM 0-60 5.2 sec. (Our 19th Skoda from Rainworth)
  3. "plus £110 extra for auxiliary belt" Wow, that's a lot of parts cost for an auxiliary drive belt. A belt you have to take off and refit as part of a cambelt change anyway. So they can't claim any extra labour is involved. Edit "unless that means the aux belt tensioner too, but I fear it doesn't"
  4. Some shots from the east coast and a poor attempt at a landscape shot with my iPhone.
  5. Hi Warrior, just at 100k miles. No issues with the pump as far as I can tell. By way of context re. belt change, I feel now is a reasonable time to look at exchange for me. Early per updated recommendation but while I anticipate having the car another few years I'm unlikely to do another 100k miles on it so don't see a huge amount to gain by pushing the change much further out.

That’s great detail thanks @JR RS sounds like @tombee and I will get what we’re after from the kind offer from @travs !
  7. Sorry for late answer. Yes i did. Map was bad so ive done another one. And main thing was removing egr near turbo and placing blanking plate and inserting blanking plate on secnd one near manifold. Car is good now i am planning to make analog meter for pressure after intercooler. I was thinking to place it instead of temp sensor just for test. Just to test if manifold/intercooler is dirty again

After almost theee years with a Karoq we set off to look at an Octavia and (for the second time) came back having ordered a Superb. We have been looking around for a while and I saw a new Octavia estate advertised for less than 30k so went to look. Saw it Saturday evening, dealer closed Sunday and Monday advised it had gone. They then found a Superb estate with similar discount (anyone else benefit from the September offer?), the wife agreed and we collected it last Monday. 2.0 TDI SEL auto with 19” wheels. After two 2.0 TDI SEL hatches as personal leases we have a third Superb.
  9. 4th day, still no new update. 🤞

And just had a quote from the local dealership for £516 (inc VAT). And payment up front just so that they can source the key!!!
  11. As your in Glasgow try https://www.thecrossgarageltd.co.uk/ for a price. There in Kirkintilloch and are vw/skoda specialists. Bought a 1.9tdi from them a few years ago that had been looked after/serviced by them and had no problems for years. They were really good to deal with. Old school garage Father and Son. Alasdair

It is a DQ200 DSG which is a Twin Dry Clutch Gearbox. Skoda / VW call them a Semi Automatic. They are as far as matters a 2 pedal automatic gearbox. Best thing is go try one. You driving it like an Automatic, so 1 foot only. You can change gear manually. No Servicing Schedule with them.
  13. I seem to recall there's some reasonable step by step guides on YT, e.g.: We've the same DSG in our Polo. I've considered changing the oils, but not yet made it past the considering stage. Gaz
  14. Woof! That car's seen some action!

This type of rear diffuser, known as the Sportline diffuser does not come with exhaust cutouts. It comes with or without towball cutouts, and it comes in chrome or black trims. I changed my basic non-Sportline diffuser with no exhaust cutout on my 220 to a Sportline diffuser with no exhaust cutout, bout 7 yrs ago. The Sportline 280 4x4 and non-Sportline 4x4 both get a different diffuser, which has the exhaust cutout. They don't get a Sportline diffuser. Also, it's the same diffuser regardless of wagon or sedan. The bumper itself though IS different between wagon and sedan.
  16. i didnt want to i just noticed it did that and thought i it was odd i . the engine cleaner goes on a luke warm engine ( stopped) then cleaned off but cheers all
  17. Sorry I meant the infotainment update 0334 Gabbo
  18. What better time to introduce the car than after a proper weekend wash. She's a 280 L&K remapped to 370bhp with eibach lowering springs and 15mm spacers all around. Loving driving her more everyday. Any suggestions for what I should do next welcome.
  19. Stone Cross windmill looking rather splendid in this afternoon's Sun: And on the way back I counted 67 Coot and two Great Crested Grebe on Shinewater Lake: Oh and not forgetting these two: Didn't expect to see them, otherwise I'd have taken some food as they came over to me, so seemed interested. 20. Hey folks, newbie here. Currently own a 2018 Golf GTE. About due to swap the car out for something else, and I've always wanted an Octavia vRS. My goodness the second hand market has gone nuts! I would normally get a car thats about 3 years old but can't afford that now! So, been looking around, got a Skoda dealer about 20 minutes away.. They had on their site, a red 2019 with about 42000 miles on it at around the top end of my budget but it had some optional extras that I wanted like heated seats, heated steering wheel and heated front screen and the upgraded Columbus Nav and Canton speakers. Now, the main one I wanted was the heated seats, the others would be nice but not a deal breaker and I'l be using Android Auto anyway and audio books on my commute so the uprated MMI isn't essential. Anywhoo, went down to the Main Stealers today and... It had sold! Went on the website then sold the same day. But on the lot was one in the beautiful blue.. 2019, higher mileage but about 7,000 miles less than my 2018 GTE at 82000 miles. It was so new to them, the salesman didn't even know it was there! However, he was able to get the records for me to show it has a full Skoda service history, had the DSG oil cchange at 50,000 miles, new spark plugs at about 65000. So, I have enough of a problem with impulse control so fortunately, the universe put the brakes on to slow me down.. He's going to get a price for it tomorrow (Monday) and a price for part ex my golf. I've done a car report checking it for outstanding finance, taxi use, stolen etc etc and its all clear as it seems. It also seems that it was used as a mobility vehicle before so between that and the FSH, I guess it hasn't been ragged and has been well taken care off. So tomorrow, if they come to me with a decent price for it and an acceptable price for my GTE, then I could be getting a new to me vRS as soon as tomorrow 👍 I will miss the fuel economy from the GTE (easily 60mpg on my 60 commute to and from work) and the virtual cockpit but other than that, tech wise I think it'll be very similar.
  21. @numskull Yes, it was advertised and sold as Cat N, so I was fully aware before purchasing @Berisford It’s really not that deep mate. I bought the car and @Stonechip has offered to fwd the paperwork. Mystery solved
  22. The sealed for life I would take with a pinch of salt. It is often mentioned that the ‘sealed for life’ was 80k service intervals. I’m not sure that there are many here in the group who have a DSG with that interval who choose to stick to it. I personally try to service it in at the same interval as the 6 speed - the DSG are expensive to repair when it goes wrong. Personally the £200-£300 cost of the service is something I accept paying if it means greater peace of mind.
  23. I use https://www.wheel-fitment.com/ Lists other cars with same centre bore and PCD. Watch for the offset. Alasdair
  24. Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks mate, you're a lifesaver.
  25. https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/184963-rimfest Couple of hours reading right there if you look.
  26. The DSG box "learns" driving patterns, so maybe the previous owner hammered it. Try a reset.
  27. It sounds to me that the ECU is commanding too high closed-throttle revs when engine is up to temperature, you need to have the vehicle scanned for any DTCs (fault codes) recorded. It could be due to a faulty sensor.
  28. Would you believe I've done this again! Am I really the only person who has ever done this? Assuming I'm not, here are some photos this time, as suggested by @CKO The first shows the problem (not as bad as last time, when a longer portion became detached with a larger gap). The second photo shows the wood strut firmly supporting the black part, and the L-shaped tool used to push against the inside of the body-coloured part of the bumper above (a canal windlass!), and the lower part snapped back in.
