  1. I can't imagine why you'd purposely dirty your cup holder when it was nice and clean to start with though?

  3. Does seem to be the way sometimes, someone posts something and all hell breaks loose and people start getting very defensive about others ideas! This isn't mandatory as a replacement - nobody is saying you have to do this - just posting that I had a split washer cap so I replaced with the newer style funnels that Skoda are using more and more and I have to say I am very happy with the replacement Since the original one was almost the same price it made sense to try something a bit different. The link to the ebay seller worked out all good for me so annoying that someone had an issue! Ho hum - makes for an interesting thread I guess!!!

  5. @hazzaardous I’d recommend finding someone local with either setup and see if they are happy to take you out for a drive. If you have any meets local that’d be a good place to start. It’s the only way to know for sure what system suits you best. Different people will have different levels of what noise they find acceptable. Consider the type of regular journey you do and who you share the car with. The novelty of a loud system wears off pretty quickly if the car is your daily, but that is just from my own experience.

  6. Wheels are only prone to kerbing if the driver drives into one. They don’t jump out to the side unexpectedly and rub themselves against the kerb.

  7. The stage3 map has been completed... resulting in 489 ps, more than 470-480 I asked for! And 541 nm of torque. Stock fuel injection, stock low pressure fuel pump. LPFP works at about 70% in this setup, injectors works 100%. For now i've driven only 50 km, I have not yet had the opportunity to test it well...but I can say that the car now has two faces: a normal one, and a funny one that starts at 3.700 rpm !

  8. The only reason Cummings is safe is he has something on Boris. Even Boris isn't that stupid. Can i have £10 on a Priti Patel Boris affair? Have you seen her drool over him?

  9. All cars suffer the same, even high end stuff. A can of this over the hub surfaces sorts the rusty bits out for a couple of years. I’ve done this to every car I have had in the last 20 years esp those with spindly spokes and open wheel patterns. Takes about an hour to do all 4 corners, gives the closest look to OEM factory fresh and makes the wheels look slightly deeper.

  11. I could easily be mistaken for thinking that none of you are parents and have never had to make a difficult decision. I expect when he cut & ran he had no intention of returning to what he thought was soon to become a rudderless zombie colony in London. And most of you would have been very happy with that. His problem and ultimately your anger started when he realised or was told that he had to return.

  12. I'm sure Dominic Cummings is not responsible for this or anything else for that matter !

  13. Cummings' wife wrote in the Spectator that he was in bed for 10 days yet Cummings' account yesterday said he drove to the hospital. Here's Mary reading her Spectator article on BBC Radio4 on 25th April saying he layed 'doggo' for ten days. The dates don't match. Something stinks about the whole saga.

  14. Who’d have thought a thread about a washer filler cap would be so contentious and lead to fraud! @octavia5 glad you noticed and managed to avoid losing any money out of it.

Mods to Amundsen satnav files to make them work on a 2017 SEAT Ateca FR: Replace maps/EEC/EEC_WLD/OVERALL.NDS with original version from SEAT SD card Set PartNumber4 in /maps/00/nds/dbinfo.txt to the part number from the original version on the SEAT SD card (6P0919866R in my case) Hope this solves your problem. 17. Thanks for the update. ive removed the links, on mobile atm so can’t investigate properly. will hunt for similar too. i doubt its from anything here, more likely a man in the middle or redirect. Do you recall anything in the flow that looked odd, or rejected a login attempt? good on you for having the sense to use different passwords. ive had two clients this year call me with similar problems, except they used the same password everywhere. That was a long and painful day for them. will keep my eyes peeled during the investigations.

  18. Exactly. In my old i20 with a non res exhaust, doing a bit of traffic light gran prix with the lads or just having a blast on your own was fine. Then taking my mum or dad somewhere gave me one hell of a headache...........from their moaning

  24. An article in a motoring magazine highlighted a new steering wheel lock that relied totally on your fingerprint to release it. Being something of a gadget freak, and tempted by the £25 reduction special offer from Halfords, I duly queued up outside the store to get one. Initially all was fine, it worked as intended but, on the 2nd day of use I thought I'd see how far the wheel could turn with the steering wheel lock fitted. It turned a fair amount, but unbeknown to me , also moved the clamp around the wheel rim also. This meant on one side the clamp was forced slightly open due to the thicker rim at the " thumb" position. Consequently the lock was not fully closed & therefore my fingerprint was unable to release it ! No amount of forcing the clamp closer worked, and the so called emergency hub also failed to function. Panic stations, but Skoda Assist despatched the AA who arrived within 15 minutes - fortunately I was on my driveway at home. After much head scratching and attempting to clamp the the clamps (!), the friendly, helpful patrolman realised the problem and forced the steering lock back around the rim to its central position where it could be closed correctly and my fingerprint against the sensor then duly worked. Needless to say I returned the offending gadget for a refund - although it wasn't the gadgets fault, I wouldn't have trusted myself or the item, to unlock every time without a problem arising.Lesson learned , leave new fangled gadgets for others to try first !

  25. A while ago I researched into this - adding additional USB ports inside the under armrest storage as there is already a blanking plate there for the USB port holder. But I ended up passing as it involves removing the entire centre console, and gear selector surround. Maybe one day I'll b brave n do it. This also allows Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. You'll need a USB Hub, three cables and the ports themselves. The HUB itself is powered by a separate power supply. Once wired up, u'll need vcds to code in the USB #2 port. Part numbers: 1. 5G0035953C - USB HUB to 2 ports, there is also the letter D at the end so it has 3 exits. 2. 3G0035643- holder of the HUB 3. 6C0035726B - USB port with lid 4. Cable 3 pieces - 5G0035222E Full write up with pictures here:- https://www.drive2.com/l/477895033505185881/

  26. The interior quality has always been NBG when compared with the Mk. 7 Golf &/or my ancient Superb 2. But, if you enjoy a chuckle, take a peek at the T-ROC Convertible if you happen to be a near a VW dealer in the near future. It makes our old VW Eos tin-tops seem luxurious.....

  27. @skinnyman I bought this can https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/222675993452 Exactly the same as the creations one but without a logo on it. Still works out a bit cheaper when you buy the hoses separately. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/272384995395

  28. Hi Northrol, I have an appointment with a local garage on Friday. I'll let you know how it goes. I'm only prepared to spend a certain amount on sensors etc. If it's a major job the car is scrap. It is 10years old.

  31. EURO 6 GD Emissions. Real Driving Emissions (RDE) 1 Additional Rate applicable until 31st October 2025 Say what we tell you and not as we do. Walk, Cycle or take your e-Scooter which is not yet legal to use on public highways or pavements in the UK. 'Or drive rather than use public transport'. So that is what he does, drives the family car, bought and paid for, maybe leased, maybe a wee perk. But then he is a Slipper farmer / land owner. https://news.sky.com/video/coronavirus-cummings-could-have-gone-straight-to-london-gove-11994739 Obvious it was during the start of lockdown on Sunday the 12th of April and you were not to drive to exercise locations, but then Gover will be referring to advice to his buddies.

  34. You shouldn't be "accessing" the baby whilst driving anyway. It's a huge distraction and could be dangerous for you, the baby and most importantly, other road users. Keep the baby in the back where it is safe. If you need to access the baby then stop in a safe place and do what you need to.

  35. The Amundsen updates work in my wife's Ateca but you have to replace one of the files with the original SEAT version and update the part number in another file, very convenient and probably the same in the Leon 🙂 And thank you to @MartiniB for keeping us up to date.

  36. This has been covered before and someone posted a pic of how to do it. I think it might have come from the manual but I can't find it. However, have a look at this You tube link, which is for a Seat Ateca, but the Kodiaq method is the same or similar. Can't understand why Skoda use this method, because as the guy states, it's a bit of a faff.

  38. yeah mine catches on the airbox when you open it. Put a black normal style one back on now. Hardly ever need to fill it up and it wasn't that tricky before anyway, ha.

  39. In the early 90's, I borrowed this caravan for a week and took my two kids to the Lake District. The BX sailed up Lakeland passes with this on the back on only 90 bhp and 133 lbs-ft. I did get some incredulous looks in caravan sites, though. 😀

  40. Undermine could be used to say that something like grease contamination would undermine the braking systems ability to stop the vehicle safely in an emergency situation. The situation you describe, driving a bit too quick downhill would "overcome" the brakes or in everyday speech "overcook" the brakes!
