  1. Perhaps it's something they can do remotely? In my case, I didn't leave the car, the guy went to his desks & logged into some kind of Skoda website. After a few seconds he came back and said try to reconnect your user profile & everything worked. All they probably needs is your VIN & Skoda app user ID/login name
  2. Agree, I had the same conversation with him because I wanted to change to 5W30 after the 3rd 1L "top-up" after 21k km However, the garage is "monitoring" the consumption at the moment and has checked for leaks around the engine and into the exhaust system 3 times plus paid for the additional oil so I didn't push too hard. As mentioned I plan to change to 5W30 in the future once they stop giving me free oil at least for one fill to see if it improves the oil consumption (and doesn't affect the fuel consumption).
  3. On my new superb TDI (2024) mk3 there's a sticker on the bumper beam & it uses 0W30. I have high but regular oil consumption & I've asked the dealer if I can change to 5W30 as the previous engine. He said technically yes but as my car is in warranty it would no longer be valid if the oil consumption issues get worse. So I will stick with it for the first 3 years before I change.
  4. I had the same issue with my new car. I was a bit "quick" for the dealers liking when I picked up my car & had already tried to connect as the main user before the "handover" guy arrived as he was with another customer & had the same error. He activated something in the Skoda system at his desk & then it worked at the next attempt.
  5. This was my first thought... Where are you buying the previous version of the arm from? I'm going to pop into Skoda on Friday to see if they'll replace my blade under warranty & if not what they want for a new blade compared with a previous level arm.
  6. It's on my Octavia not the superb. It's a 2014 184ps TDi. I've done almost 250k km so can't complain really but was thinking I could save a few hundred CHF by doing it myself
  7. The file format NTFS/FAT32 is important for SD cards. I can't remember which is the correct one. I got annoyed always trying twice and waiting 20 minutes to download the files again. I use a USB hard drive now for the transfer. Works just the same and is slightly faster than a usb stick.
  8. Do you have any experience changing the glow plugs on the Vag Diesels? I have an 184ps TDi (2014 vRS Octavia) with a glow plug 4 error. Access to the plug seems straightforward but I've read alot about shearing the plug when trying to remove it... Is it easy enough to do if you are careful & soak with a little WD40 before hand?
  9. Yes except you have to change the gears for yourself & the auto will be more practical in several situations. E.g. In a line of slow moving traffic the auto will crawl & creep, stop, continue without intervention etc. In a manual you will need to use the clutch & change gear as necessary. One feature I love on my DSG is if you drive on A roads with ACC active, it will automatically slow the speed for a roundabout, drive at a suitable speed to navigate the roundabout & then accelerate afterwards. Driving assistant functions will always be better/more integrated with DSG. There are other considerations for the choice between manual and DSG Like upfront costs, service costs, chance of failure & fuel economy etc
  10. In the screenshot you published there is a button "update software". If you press this with the USB C device connected does it find the map update? Have you extracted the zip file onto the memory stick? Usually you have to extract the files & folder structure from the zip file not just copy the zip file..
  11. Would it be worth/possible to replace the wiper arm to the old part which would take the old fitting/clip? Or is the clip integrated into the assembly or can it be swapped between the old & new blade? I'd imagine the OEM blade is 3x the price of the 3rd party version from Bosch/Hella/Conti? My superb is 1 year old and I have the same problem with the rear blade. If it was changed in March 2023 it's surprising that there aren't aftermarket parts from the usual suppliers available already.
  12. Are there some apps which would have the TV channels you might want which you could stream to the cars display or watch via CarPlay/Android auto instead?
  13. Had the problems started before you put in the diesel cleaner & refueled?
  14. I have a new 2l TDI which is consuming around 1l of oil per 7000km. As it was new I took it back to the dealer at 6800km and 13500km. They checked everything, topped up the oil and told me it was "normal" consumption. I just passed 21k km and it asked for more oil. I'm "recording" the situation with the dealer as I have 3 year warranty but I'm a little disappointed if it stays like this. Unless it gets worse they've said there is nothing they can do because it's within the VAG spec. I'm waiting for the first full service at 30k if they will insist on an oil change as 80% of the oil has already been changed. The only explanation they have was that they had seen more cars like this due to the change in oil spec 0W30 compared to 5w30 from my Octavia TDi. Within the warranty I would not be allowed to change the oil spec particularly if something was not optimal and it got worse as it would be more difficult to claim against VAG for a new engine/DPF etc Gabbo
  15. I made the same change in my Octavia as you can't but the 68A version. I didn't change the coding just replace Varta 68A for Varta 70A. I've had no problems since in almost 2 years.
  16. Could it be the power steering pump which I find makes a whooshing sound for 10-15s after manoeuvring when at or close to full lock ?
  17. Exactly because when you leave the selector on the passenger side mirror you also have the chance to move the normally mirror position by mistake... It would be much more convenient to have an on/off setting in the infotainment to use it or not. When you select reverse it automatically selects the sensor view it cameras, a simple button here to dip/not dip the mirrors would be perfect
  18. I've had a Volvo XC90 & Mercedes GLE and both have the same behaviour where when coming to a stop you mentioned. the engine will sometimes cutout around 10kph before the vehicle comes to a stop if you are braking very lightly. My 2023 MK3 Superb also does this. Quite annoying as often in cuts out then restarts if you release slightly the brake and then cuts out again when you reach 0kph. I guess this is an emissions thing to try to win a few grammes more of CO2 by stopping early.
  19. I would take my chances & drive it from the dealer to the garage of your choice. If the brakes were working fine when you drove it there, they will be working fine for 2km more. Pads worn to the indicators still have material on them. There is a risk you'll scratch the disks if you don't replace sooner then later but again 2km won't destroy them.
  20. You can also use a usb hard drive to download the maps or use a USB-C to USB-A adapter with any existing usb sticks you have
  21. The "online maps" is a subscription service if I understand correctly. You get 3 years free from a new car & then must pay for to continue the "over the air" updates. You can always perform the update yourself manually by downloading the files from the Skoda Update portal and using a memory stick to install it in the car. Enter your VIN number here to get the list of available downloads: https://updateportal.skoda-auto.com/en-GB
  22. You can also name it the dP sensor but be careful talking about it in hearing of your wife.
  23. And it's logical if you turn off the TSR that the displayed limits should come from the navigation system.
  24. Updating the maps is the first thing I would try.... The online version might be right now but you don't know what version was integrated by VW in 2020... My 2014 Octavia isn't connected but you can download map updates from VW for free. After one update they had added the speed limits for some temporary roadworks into the map system. It was 2 or 3 updates before the limits were corrected even though the work only lasted 2 or 3 month max.
  25. New Sportline trim announced https://www.skoda-storyboard.com/en/skoda-world/meet-the-new-superb-sportline/
