  1. As above. It’s a looped system so the power etc piggy backs from the front with a connector in the b pillar. You’ll need to check the loom and connector block. Be sure to remove interior from the top down or you’ll snap all lugs, etc.
  2. I think they look good on 17s. But, I would personally go for the Spiders in 16s for a better ride. Mine on 17" Spiders I ended up swapping back to the L&K's. I've seen them go from £60-£100. And, possibly £150 for a mint set. They're not desirable at all, but suit the car well.

  4. Going down a slippery slope. I'm not sure which one will be a leisure battery or, if they're all connected, to power the lights while stationary.
  5. Did you bleed BOTH nipples on the reservoir? A lot of people forget to bleed them which results in this, including myself.

    Welcome aboard!
  7. Sure, but it might just be worth buying a second hand replacement motor or using pattern parts.
  8. SAI pump. It's loud anyway, but you may have a split hose which makes it louder. I haven't started mine up for a while, so I'll do a quick video for you to compare.
  9. Excellent news! I have a PD130 L&K. I love it, and it's been faithful to me the last couple of years.
  10. This is a VAG features on most cars from the early 2000's onwards. They ONLY autolock after 30 secs if you use the remote to unlock the vehicle but DON'T open any door, it will then re-lock after 30 secs.
  11. The wiring works on a looped system. So, if there's a break in a wire, it can affect other doors. Just to rule it out, you should do a continuity check on the blocks to make sure that no wires are broken or melted.
  12. Yes, on the way to Heathrow.... I'm amazed it's remained as it is and hasn't been resurfaced.
  13. It sits in a case, while the top is open, the sides are still high enough.
  14. Yup, that sounds like a hoover being on, if that helps.
  15. Road materials make up such a part of road noise. Some roads lately I've been on are whisper quiet, and as soon as you hit some old roads, it bloody horrendous!
  16. Enjoy it, there are plenty of threads on the site to explore. Here's a couple. Remapping
  17. Bearings on the alternator or waterpump?
  18. I've never had a filter get wet. This is due to the 'scuttle panel' covering it with drain holes.
  19. As above, those are covered by insurance and don't come up MOT regulations, where the others do. It's not really clear unless you delve into the Act and laws of all this, and it gets all too confusing. But, I hope we've helped.
  20. That would be wise. We're here to help and not offer daft advice as seen on Facebook. And, as Dave said they'd use the 'Construction & Use" act, would cover any car that left the factory, alterations then make it illegal. i.e. removing a back box which is there from the factory. Of course, there is common sense and not all officers are out to get you. But, if you happen to come across a joint operation of Police/DVLA, and they find something like a decat, they prohibit the car from the road, and you'd require a new MOT. GCM on Youtube did a great series covering a lot of this with a Police officer.
  21. If he knows his stuff, he’ll advise somewhat similar to what I’ve said. As my advise is gathered from here over the years and my own remapping. Also, don’t get caught by the plod as they’d have a field day with no back box or cat.
  22. If you’ve had a custom dyno and since changed the hardware, it’s recommend you go back and have it redone to match. Having a 3”straight through is a little much in my opinion. Is it a decat or do you have a sportscat installed? Also, are you actually running a ‘dump valve’? As these are not designed for our engines, and you should be running a ’Diverter Valve’. Take it back to your mapper and let him work his magic.
  23. I'm usually one for keeping things stock/oem. But, my god what a difference just a simple remap makes. I have a standard example and I have a remapped version, and the difference is night and day. The vRS really should've left with 200/210BHP. If you're thinking about it, there are a couple of options that you could do. Badger5 or R-Tech are the places to go for tuning, there are other places which I'm sure some will recommend. Only one thing to add, if you remap, factor in a clutch replacement as a precaution. Do NOT get a generic off the shelf remap, always go custom/dyno.
