  1. Don't assume, ask. A good garage that does lots of batteries should have one / use one. Did they use one then? Went to Thredbo once from ACT. Thanks, AG Falco
  2. To make sure the car remember all the electronic settings you can power the car via the OBD port at the same time. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/154037203489 others are available. Thanks, AG Falco
  3. In theory, Yes. But that is not the only factor to consider. Look at the Youtube clip for real info. Thanks, AG Falco

  7. Which Infotainment system have you got? Swing? Bolero? Thanks, AG Falco
  8. Yes, private weather station but in North Dorset. Thanks, AG Falco
  9. I do a 12 miles journey to work but with air / ground temperatures rarely getting to / below 0 C. ( so far this year. I have seen -15 C down here from the weather station outside my property previously . ) Before fitting the cover the oil Temp would reach low to mid 80's by the end of this journey. It now reaches low to mid 90's. I have the oil Temp as the default display on the car's MFD. The oil will now hit 50 C within 3-4 miles from starting. I don't let the engine warm before I start my journey. The made up cover only partially covers the lower grill, not any of the upper grill. On my car the main engine radiator is behind the upper grill. There is a water intercooler for the air intake below this. There is no divider between the two grills after the inner bumper. Thanks, AG Falco
  10. The car can be set to:- Variable servicing. This is worked out by the car depending on its use. This can be up to 30,000 Km, 18 - 24 months. or Fixed servicing. Every 15,000 km or 372 days which ever comes first. You can look on the cars infotainment system to see when the next service and / or inspection is due. You can ask Skoda if they have any service history for the car on their Digital Service Record system. You will want the VIN number for this. Thanks, AG Falco
  11. I have found you need to look at the oil Temperature as this is a more realistic indication of the engine temperature. The water temperature just goes up to 90 C and just stays there unless it gets very hot. You will also notice that the oil temp. takes a lot longer to get hot. It has made the oil run hotter in my car after I made / fitted one. Thanks, AG Falco
  12. Correct tyres first. Thanks, AG Falco
  13. What make / tread pattern are the rear tyres? Thanks, AG Falco
  14. ET is the measurement from the inner wheel hub face to the centre line of the wheel rim in MM. This is in MM. Positive value unless it has a - ( negative ) in front of the number. See Positive offset above for yours. An ET of 45 is 1MM closer to the centre line of the wheel you quote as wanting an ET of 46. Nobody would notice this. As the number gets lower the wheel sits further in and closer to the suspension/spring parts. So if you go too low you risk the inner edge of the tyre rubbing on the suspension /spring parts. Will 185 60 15 tyres on 6J x 15 5x100 give you more options on wheels and tyres. ET might be 38 with this size wheel/tyre though. Thanks, AG Falco
  15. The Fabia TSI engines have long life spark plugs fitted. My Fabia III 1.2 TSI required spark plugs at 40,000 miles. I did change them at the 4th fixed service at less than 4 years and 38,000 miles. The old ones still looked good. I doubt it is worth looking at your spark plugs. Thanks, AG Falco
  16. Yes I could see a small radiator underneath the main one. Looks like it cools the turbo as well and being electric it can run after the engine has been turned off. Thanks for that, makes more sense now. Thanks, AG Falco
  17. Yes, noticed this but could not work out where the pipes went to / came from. Would it be worth blocking up the upper grill instead of the lower one then? Thanks, AG Falco
  18. Neither of the two I have made are a perfect fit, both have gaps around the edges that will still let some air in . I made a cardboard template first to help with the shape / size. I do / will remove them when I do the winter / summer tyre swap normally around when the clocks change. The other car's AC condenser has suffered during it's life but the intercooler is to one side. Don't think the Fabia III TSI engine has an intercooler though. ''The charge air is cooled by a charge air cooler, through which coolant flows, located in the intake manifold.'' ''Intake manifold with integrated charge air cooler'' Thanks, AG Falco
  19. Yes I has noticed them. I thought I would try this first to see if it works. To make it fit better it needs bending ( with a heat gun? ) both left to right and top to bottom. Their cover will fit neater but as said I would need to cut a hole in the middle for it to work. I didn't want to buy one and then scratch / break it before even fitting it at £44.44 inc. delivery. I am going to try this for this winter and see how it works. Thanks, AG Falco
  20. Is this the same vehicle problem ? Thanks, AG Falco
  21. Check PM. Thanks, AG Falco
  22. Can you see the keys? Thanks, AG Falco
  23. Ok, On another car of mine to help in the winter I cover the lower front grill up. Done this for several years and it helps the Diesel engine warm up both quicker and get hotter. Noticed on the Fabia that the oil temperature only goes up to mid 80's C in the winter. During the summer the oil will be at mid 90's C and when being used will go above 100 C. So I thought I would do the same to the Fabia. Only problem is that my Fabia has a collision avoidance sensor in the middle of the grill. But with a piece of Perspex cut to shape, with a hole cut for the sensor, and then painted matt black:- and held in place with some cable ties. ( what did I do before there were cable ties ) the results look good:- The engine oil now gets to mid 90's C, the engine warms up quicker and the heater works even better / quicker. Result. Thanks, AG Falco
  24. Take the old ones in with you and match them up. Were the new ones different to what you took off the car then? Thanks, AG Falco
