Internal lights issue
Fair to say that the old battery has done pretty well. For the record, do you tend to use the stop-start function most of the time?

Combi 2012 battery replacement
As OPs car does not have stop-start - and therefore is not a 'micro-hybrid' would it also not have the energy recuperation system? - In which case, EFB battery should be OK (but pricier) to fit.

Internal lights issue
Does your car have stop-start (is the battery EFB/AGM) type?

Clutch pedal sticking down
Thanks, that's really good to know, I have had this issue with my clutch pedal very occasionally, which then clears for long periods.

Silica bags in coolant?
It is likely that a silicate dispenser of some description was fitted originally. Have you owned this vehicle from new?

Internal lights issue
I believe the issue with some LEDs can be electrical 'noise' There is often a date stamp (YYMM) on one of the battery posts. Correction - the date format might be MMYY.

Internal lights issue
Was it just the trunk lights you replaced - or did you also replace the interior, cabin ones ? (map lights, etc.) Can you just pull the fuse for the CarPlay unit?

TPMS
There is information from many sources saying that tyres can lose up to 3PSI per month by osmosis. In the worst case, pressure loss from that alone could be more than 0.5 bar in 3 months.

Internal lights issue
I'd be inclined to check the CarPlay unit first. If it does turn out to be the LED trunk lights, don't give up - there are compatible LEDs available, I have changed them on the Octavia and the Fabia - I agree, the OEM lights are pretty useless.

Internal lights issue
Hello @thisischeese, did this problem start around the same time you fitted the LEDs and the CarPlay?

Clutch pedal sticking down
Hello Steve, that's the first reference I've seen for the 6-speed TSI slave cylinder being external - are you able to verify?

TPMS
Actually since 2022 for OP. For a number of reasons, all tyres will lose some pressure over time - even a tyre with perfect seals at rim beads and valve - due to slight porosity of the tyre itself. The TPMS is just there as an assist for regular checks and false alarms are rare, even on my indirect system.

Brake replacement, how hard can it be?
In almost 60 years of driving, I have had only a single case where the run-out of a disc was excessive - this did not produce unacceptable 'pulsing' of the brakes - but did adversely affect brake pedal travel (as the disc run-out pushed the pistons too far back into the callipers) I cannot count how many times I have been advised that discs require replacement, only for a follow up check by me to prove otherwise. I usually try to avoid very light use of brakes, preferring to leave my brake point a little long - then firm (but not hard) braking.

White smoke from the exaust.
Hello Gopal, I suspect your engine is burning oil, which unfortunately, is a common problem with the EA888 engine. Do a search on the forum for the issue.

Cheating at battery specs
If you replaced your existing battery with one with larger capacity - and did not adapt that new capacity into the BCM, I think you will make the present low SOC even worse, as the system will still be charging on the assumption that the smaller battery is fitted.

Purchase advice - Skoda octavia with previously failed timing belt, engine survived
I agree with you, I suspect owner is seeing or feeling something worrying and has decided to unload it. That TDI has also not really covered sufficient mileage since the incident to rule out possible DPF issues.

Purchase advice - Skoda octavia with previously failed timing belt, engine survived
Hello, welcome to the forum. Was this cambelt incident recent - and is this a private sale? I'd suggest extreme caution - I think the low compression in #3 does indicate a possible problem with valves. Not entirely happy with #4 either.

TPMS
Hello, the fact that you say your system is flagging a 0.2 bar drop suggests that you have direct TPMS fitted - is that correct? IIRC the indirect system flags at around 0.5ish bar on my Octavia. Although small drops in pressure are normal, regular drops in specific tyres, such as you are getting, possibly suggests slightly imperfect tyre-bead seal, slight leakage at valve - or porous rims. Keep monitoring and topping up your tyres as required, test the tyre valve for leakage by using film of saliva or liquid soap.

Silica bags in coolant?
Hello Harry, difficult to give a definite answer - it probably had one fitted originally - but if your present expansion tank doesn't have the 'Mit Silicat' marking on it, it has possibly been changed for one without it. Is your coolant colour pink or is it mauve/purple?

I guess that was used as the prototype by Tesla 😄

the truth about electric cars
Am I the only one who thinks the Cybertruck looks as if it was designed by the old TG team?

Don't drive a petrol Yeti 50 yards !
The OP has not posted age of his Yeti, but my MY16 Octavia flags up the message 'do not depress throttle when attempting to start engine' if I so much as touch the pedal during start - the ECU calculates required volume of fuel for engine start.

Hello to you all!

Great news that you got it resolved.

Missing oil temp after retrofit of 5F unit
Hello, welcome to the forum. Do you have the MFSW? - If so, use the right-hand roller to scroll through the display until you find oil temperature, then press roller to select.
