the truth about electric cars
Am I the only one who thinks the Cybertruck looks as if it was designed by the old TG team?

Don't drive a petrol Yeti 50 yards !
The OP has not posted age of his Yeti, but my MY16 Octavia flags up the message 'do not depress throttle when attempting to start engine' if I so much as touch the pedal during start - the ECU calculates required volume of fuel for engine start.

Hello to you all!

Fuel rail pressure issues (limp mode; P019100 error) - at my wit's end after multiple major component replacements with no luck. What next?
Great news that you got it resolved.

Missing oil temp after retrofit of 5F unit
Hello, welcome to the forum. Do you have the MFSW? - If so, use the right-hand roller to scroll through the display until you find oil temperature, then press roller to select.

@Damo222 It is not uncommon to find even supposedly new cells to be faulty/discharged - even on 'branded' cells. I've had this recently. Try new cells from a different source.

Has your Octavia ever jumped into manual on its own?
Kickdown in a torque-converter automatic gearbox is usually a pretty dramatic push - that's exactly what its for - I'd expect the DSG to be no less so.

Noise moving the steering - Official dealer estimated 3k€ repair
@Adr85 I'd run a mile from this outfit! - at the very least, please get an opinion from a reputable mechanic.

Cutting out when going into reverse
@Johnnynapalm Did you change anything that might have stopped it from cutting out when engaging reverse?

Haunted Roomster
@ThudIIRC, the socket with the black cover is for trailer lights (tail, side, stop, reversing) The white cover one is for trailer ancillaries like auxiliary battery charging, interior lighting, etc.

Best or Favourite Cars You've Owned/Driven
My first car after coming to the UK was a Volvo 365, with the Volvo 2 litre engine from the 2-series. Considered that to be a lot better than the Renault-engined 340 we had later.

Superb 280 L&K
When negotiating this purchase, did you make any mention to the dealer about fitting a tow bar?
-
Superb 280 L&K
From my understanding, it depends on the vehicle load plate, the position appears to be that if there is no Max. towing weight entered on the plate, a tow bar is not permitted.

Skoda superb mk3 coolant silica bag split
Politely ask the Dealership MD to point out to you in the Approved Used Warranty where this defect is excluded and why.

Skoda superb mk3 coolant silica bag split
Hello Scott, welcome to the forum. Is that a Skoda Approved Used warranty? I can see no reason why that would not be covered, the issue is well known - to the point that VAG brought out a revised expansion tank without the 'Mit Silicat' insert.

Superb 280 L&K
Tyre pressures are on a plaque inside the fuel flap. I normally run the Octavia at Eco pressures - plus approx. 0.2 bar when on winter tyres.

Superb 280 L&K
Oh, and ask them to verify that the transit blocks have definitely been removed.

Hello Tibbadog, welcome to the forum. Here I am, green with envy. Oh what a sinner I am 😁 Enjoy your trip. Your new engine (EA888) has cam chain.

Cutting out when going into reverse
It seems a little unlikely that an injector would fault only when engaging reverse gear - as per other suggestions, I'd be inclined to look for an electrical fault.
-
Start/stop system fault?
When you had the battery replaced, was the new (AGM) adapted in to the BCM? This definitely needed to be done if the old battery wasn't the same type or capacity. I don't recall all of the parameters that inhibit stop/start from happening - but it is quite possible that an emissions fault will be one of them.

Fabia Mk2 Tdi 1.4 2009 130k dead; what next?
Hello Staro, given the loss of power, then dead, I think the best you could hope for is bent valves - unlikely to be fixed for £500 inc. labour. If the cambelt is intact, presumably the belt tensioner failed? Did any engine warning lights come on when you started to lose power? You could try using the fuel pump to drain the tank by disconnecting the feed at the fuel rack.

Roomster 2012. Here's a repaired turbo assembly. Is this a Skoda repair???
I agree, I've not looked at other WGs - but I would have expected that linkage to have a clevis and pin type connection for OE.

Front Assist malfunction.
I'm inclined to believe that adjusting the sensitivity of the front radar will also make it less liable to 'ghost' activations - the visual warning and the AEB are two elements of the same system.

Misfire at 8 deg c
@Radiogaga is the coolant level in the expansion tank falling?

Timing belt
Hello @Doofy No longer the five years that Skoda UK were quoting up to around July this year. Now in line with VAG recommendations. You should be able to see latest recommendation on cambelt threads.
