  1. Nightmare, mine was like a pond too but only issue I ever had was the alarm going off on all hours which turned out to be corroded grey connector in the passenger kick panel. Why VW decided to use a foam gasket by the pollen filter I’ll never know Glad to know the same issue isn’t present in the Superb 👍
  2. I was once a Passat b5.5 man, the ccm placement still gives me nightmares. If you are asking because of anxiety, the scuttle area should still be cleaned on the Superb apprantly, but it’s even harder to get to because you need to remove the wipers 😬
  3. My habit is starting the car and literally saying “turn that @“£&@“ off” So OP if you can get into a habit of turning it off it’s much cheaper and easier
  4. What do your rear discs look like? Upload a picture if you can as it’s always a laugh This was mine before I replaced, ignore the red line. This was at around 37k miles the outer section was never used 😂
  5. Haha I had exactly the same with stalling, I was like how on earth can I stall an automatic. I went with Brembo coated discs as I got annoyed with the rusting, and skoda OE pads fitted by my local Skoda dealer, stops, it was still like £180 but the time I’d bought a battery maintainer and VCDS it just worked out cheaper to let them do it
  6. The DSG gearbox can be a little jerky and it’ll be something you get use to. Its worth mentioning the gearbox oil and filter should be changed every 40k miles, but check if it’s ever been serviced as dealers don’t seem to mention it, at least not mine and some others on here 😞 Also check the condition of your rear discs and pads, OEM is a bit of an Achilles heal. My car is smoother and quicker at releasing the handbrake since changing them
  7. They do indeed, I just like the peace of mind knowing mine still over reads by design incase there’s a speed camera van fishing, as the more the tyre wears with 245’s your going even more faster. That shouldn’t matter much unless you live on the 10%+2mph edge all the time
  8. I only do about 3k a year so don’t listen to me for a long term review 😬 My friends probably covered about 5k since May and recently went to Wales on what he called rough roads, when he got back is when he said how much of a difference the 5 and 6 is
  9. That’s possible, I doubt I’ve put more than 1k on them since sometime in May so time will tell but so far so good These are EV rated so I’d like to think they’ll stay quiet
  10. Get the Asymmetric 6, much quieter than the 5. Although I’ve never used the 5’s my father in law has them on his A4 and quiet loud. One of my friends recently needed 4 tyres on his beemer and got 5’s on the front and 6’s on the rear due to needing them urgently but 6 wasn’t available in his size for the fronts (staggered sizes) as it’s a new tyres, he said the difference in sound is massive and much more quieter on the 6’s
  11. Just get the eagle F1 asymmetric 6’s in default size, so much quieter than the P7’s, don’t need to tell insurance nor worry about it over-over reading, win win
  12. Like I said earlier never had a chip before, today at 1540 I thought I’d go online to get the chip fixed, 1640 auto glass turned up, very impressed. Its still somewhat visible but have to really really look
  13. Is this just for the boot door lights only? Also what’s the deal with the wiring harness supplied, is it car loom plugs into that then the supplied wiring into the lights?
  14. I remember reading that on here, but it’s thankfully only 1.3cm from end to end and on the passenger side outside of the wiper, so should just be a normal chip repair and more than 3cm from the edge
  15. Is there a way to legitimately get the firmware? I’m getting some funky things going on with Bluetooth mostly and wondering if updating it would help. I don’t want to appear rude but if there’s a legit way of updating like satnav I’d love to know
  16. Changing size will require to tell insurance to be 100% honest and covered. I went with these and absolutely love them, so much more quieter than the P7’s and had recently went through loads of massive puddles at 70mph and steering wheel hardly moved compared to the P7’s which was more scary https://www.asdatyres.co.uk/goodyear/eagle-f1-asymmetric-6?width=235&profile=40&diameter=19 https://www.camskill.co.uk/m55b8935s3932p0/Car_Tyres_-_MPV_Tyres_-_People_Carrier_Tyres_-_19_inch_Goodyear_Tyres_Car_Goodyear_Eagle_F1_Asymmetric_6_-_R19_inch_-_235_40_19_235_40R19 I got them from Camskill when they first come out at £150 per tyre but that’s just the tyre delivered, whereas Asda is full price so just chose your garage and done, just like blackcircles but that’s £196 fitted which is bonkers
  17. Managed to get a stone hit my windscreen and cause a small crack. Almost 20 years of driving and first time ever, annoying but I guess it had to happen eventually
  18. Personally I’d get something like this https://vi.raptor.ebaydesc.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemDescV4&item=230723938073&category=43998&pm=1&ds=0&t=1640273183000&ver=0&cspheader=1 Then one evening go out and have a look, cheap enough and easily DIY
  19. I’ve always found this to be a strange law personally. Is it possible to have your eldest sit in the front seat with the booster and the other adult sit in the middle? Ample room for the adult in the middle and no more distracting looking back all the time
  20. How did you remove the scuttle btw? I’m sure when I checked mine I had to take the wiper blades off, is that the only way?
  21. All Skoda had to do was provide a panel which can be removed like the A6, but I think it was a case of Simply CBA I’m changing my bulbs soon as they’re pretty poor, I just don’t know whether to get Osram NBL or CBN
  22. Has anyone on here used the Osram CBN d3s bulb? First time I’ve used the headlights in ages and forgot how bad my bulbs are. I’m struggling to decide on my next bulbs either Osram next gen laser or cool blue intense (next gen aka cbn) I must admit I like the LED look and these are street legal, but lower Kelvin gives more light hmm, not exactly cheap nor easy to fit so hard decision
  23. You could get a really cheap d3s bulb from Amazon or ebay. I doubt they’re that arsey in the hopefully unlikely event but at least you’ll have it. something like this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/403816868255?hash=item5e055c699f:g:-mkAAOSw-~Vi7Nji&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAoJnQjwxAZRjWa7o0Dda8XYXfzGw9JWqde%2F%2BcwyzATHt8gn%2F2U80xfZ58jrm18YsrhulJENtT%2FL5Olr2gWV%2FlY5ykO7DTy6HWaxfLSCYqsihIMr2GeeF5PO4ETqrweXU3MpUgVgbtyD%2B9Yg2nzDPpC4Z9FIcnhpBwCIk6FPzNkJnXv%2FH3aEGUwF1YkO8Ea5xPEZ80lGU2OIeKiQMB7pPMGS4%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR8aQvfLWYA
  24. Woohoo, wonder if your car was an undercover police car in a previous life
