Droning sound?
One thing not mentioned. I noticed a droning on occasions. Then I realised that when it happened to eco symbol was on the dash. Turned out it was just a different exhaust sound when it was running in 2 cylinder mode.

2024 Karoq Virtual Cockpit – Classic view auto-switching to built-in nav when CarPlay active
I use Google maps and display since start fuel consumption on the virtual dash. When I make a change to google maps, the virtual dash changes to the view shown in the photo. To get it back to how I want it, I have to press the bottom left button on the right side of the steering wheel and scroll up to reset. There may be the opportunity using the scroll to set it to how you want it.

SOS system question
My car is the 71 reg Karoq. I bought the car new and paid for the 2 year extension to the Manufacturer's Warranty, so all under one warranty. The fact that I paid for the extension and somehow, between Skoda and the dealer, they failed to implement it is another story. Still under warranty until end of October.

SOS system question
After 8 visits to the dealer my SOS system seems to be working fine. For a recap, it had 3 new aerials, at last one software update, and finally was solved by replacing a long cable whch runs (I'm told) from under the rear bumper to somewhere in the front of the car. All done with no charge under warranty. I visited a friend yesterday who has a 20 registered Audi A4 and he told me he has this problem on his car. He remembered I had told him of the issue. He told me that he had looked on an Audi forum, and someone said it needed a software update, and it would cost £2000, so he is just putting up with the problem. I had that done free, so I just wanted to ask if anyone had had a software update from Skoda and had to pay for it, and how much it costs. Of course, with my experience I know that it may not solve the issue, but if the actual cost is more reasonable, it coud be the solution.

Warning Message question
If there are no signs, there are default limits. Street lights, 30mph (Wales, 20mph). No street lights, National Speed limit, 60mph, 70mph on dual carriagways. Anything else should have repeater signs, but they are sometimes a fair distance apart. All changes of limit should have signs, usually on both sides of the road but not always. It is your responsibility to understand the speed limits, the satnav or the speed recognition system being wrong will be no defence.

Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
This seems to intimate that the VW ACC is different to the Skoda, Audi and Seat versions. And there is nothing to say that, for instance, all of the Skoda systems are identical over the years fitted. For instance, on my Karoq, you can switch off lane assist permanently, but I don't think you can on newer cars. And on my Skoda, if you have lane assist on, it doesn't keep you in the middle of the lane, it just whinges at you if you stray too close to the cenre line (almost impossible to avoid on some roads where I live), and telling me to 'keep to the centre of the lane'.

key fob battery?
There have been several conversations on this topic. The concensus is that Panasonic is a good choice. I always use them. Others may work, but they may not. I always keep a Panasonic in the car and another in my wallet just in case. My daughter has a Captur and that wouldn't work until I used a Panasonic.

Moved from a Dacia to a Kamiq & comparing 3 cyl engines
I had a hire 3 cylinder T-Roc in Germany. It must have been the higher power version as it was 6 speed. I couldn't really feel any difference to my 1.5 TSi Karoq. And I had a 3 cylinder Kamiq 6 speed as a loan car, and that was fine.

Hi, I'm a new owner of a 2023 Kamiq
There are limitations on how accurate a satnav is, as has been said. Some of this is down to the technology and some down to its failure to be properly updated. My worry is not where we are but what happens in the fuure. Self driving cars which drive at the speed limit rather than a comfortable speed (I will not drive my car with ACC engaged at it drves at the speed limit and goes far too fast round bends, and has anyone else seen the Tesla drive into a freight train in America) and so many vehicles here that claim to be limited to the local limit, but are actually limited to what the system thinks the limit is. It could be really frustrating and potentially dangerous for a vehicle which is limited in a 20 limit if it passes into a 60 limit without responding correctly.

Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
Is it fitted to VWs and Audis as they have plenty in the USA? May not be fitted to USA exports though..

How’s this for good range? But…
I gave up using Adaptie Cruise, simply because it would drive the car like a maniac, driving at the speed limit rather than a comfortable speed, charging at bends, braking sharply. It frightened me as a driver, I dread to think what would happen if I used it if my wife was a passenger.

Incorrectly Identified NSL Speed Limits
Google maps tends to be better, but it still has lags when limits have changed and Google hasn't updated. It is frustrating when Google has one limit, you car shows a different limit, and you know from the road signage that they are both wrong.

Changed the battery, now a load of fault codes
All of those errors are, as you say, linked to a fault in the ABS system. If it doesn't clear, you will probably have to read or have the codes read and go from there.

Buying Advice Please
My 71 reg 1.5 manual does suffer from kangarooing BUT it is only from a cold start and it is only for the first 100 metres up to the t-junction at the end of my close. After that it is no issue.

When accelerating, the car pulls to the right
On a front wheel drive car, it is when applying a lot of power, the car pulls to left or right. There are several potential causes, including different grip level from the tyres (cheap and worn one side, high grade and new on the other), or unequal length driveshafts. I had one car which was ok most of the time but had terrible torque steer if the accelerator was pressed too hard, but no-one could find the fault. I got rid of the car, but thinking about it, I wonder whether the differential or a driveshaft had failed and the power was only on one wheel.

Warranty period for add on items installed by dealer
What happens if you replace the fuse without the dashcam connected and switch on? If it still blows it would seem to indicate a wiring short.

MK1 2024 Alternator
Modern cars with alternators are not like cars with dynamos used to be. It could be a failing alternator, a failing battery or some kind of parasitic drain. I have a voltage meter, the kind you put in your 12v socket. These are readily and cheaply available from Amazon. Plug one in and you should see the cahnge in voltage as the engine revs. It should read ~12v when idling, then increase to ~14 v when charging. If you do this you have evidence to show the dealer. Or simply go to another dealer. If the car is only 18 months old it should be a free fix under warranty.

Checking historical tyre pressure
Did the wrnings indicate which tyre had the pressure loss? I did on my Karoq while I was in Austria. My other car, non VAG, also has TPMS but does not indicate which tyre. Shame, because it should, in theory, be easy to code the TPMS to do this and is extremely helpful.

Speed limit warning
I have set a speed limit warning on my 2021 Karoq. It warns of overspeeding (0, 3 or 6 mphover posted speed) which of course is in itself inaccurate as the speedo under-reads by about 3mph. The issue I have is that I don't know where the system gets its limits from. There is a small town near me where the limit in the town centre is 20mph (very reasonably) but there is a small ring road round the north side which is 30 mph limit. However, some some reason the system thinks that all of it is 20 mph so it gives a spurious warning. The ring road is 'national speed limit' and has streetlights, so there are no 30 signs apart from the first one entering the town, and there are no 20 signs to be mistakenly read. There is a long way to go before speed limits and car systems can be considered accurate.

(Very) short errands with a Kamiq 1.0TSi 116?
I don't think that there is a diesel Kamiq, or for that matter, a Karoq. Petrol cars, although more complex than they used to be, don't have nearly so many issues. No DPF, although they do have aGPF (not nearly so many issues), no EGR valve, no Adblue pump.

Kamiq wipers stop below 7 mph
From my experience with my Karoq and a Stellantis car, I would say this is quite normal.

Sos
The real issue with this fault is that there are several possible causes. I have posted on this subject many times as Skoda suggested several possible solutions and it seems difficult to diagnose which will be successful. After being initialy told that it was probably the switch between continental phone providers, and me telling them that it happened in the UK as well, it changed to faulty aerials. I had four new aerials, and it still persisted. I was told, some time between the aerial changes that it needed a software update with also failed to cure the issue. Eventually last autumn, after the issue had persisted since summer 2023 (iirc), a fairly long investigation concluded that it was a faulty cable connecting something near the back bumper to something else at the front of the car. Even this became an issue as the part number that Skoda Tech supplied turned out to be a cable approx 4 metres too short. Eventually the dealers had to make one up. So it allseems well now. We've not used the car much since but thankfully it is now seems OK. I don't write this to worry other owners. I just want to point out that there are many potential ideas about what the cause of the issue is. The only potentail cause I have seen online that has not been mentioned to me is a failure of of the control unit. Luckily for me the entire issue has been covered by my warranty and extended warranty so the only cost to me has been the inconvenience of taking the car in and collecting again and the time that it has taken, with at least 2 visits taking a week in the workshop. As it was a fault, they comped the loan cars.

Service warning still on after oil change.
This is in itself a little odd as the service interval is, as far as I am aware, 15,000 km.

Went to see Karoq in showroom - confused !!!
Odd. They worked for me on Windows 10.
