How comfortable are standard Audi seats?
Not necessarily, neither my C1 nor Aygo had/have reach adjustable steering columns and even with my long legs I have no problem - admittedly I don't sit laid flat like a racing driver

How comfortable are standard Audi seats?
I injured my back in 1999 by a piece of stupid heavy lifting, physiotherapy corrected the initial injury but has left me with 24/7 sciaticia in my left leg from secondary nerve damage. Initially this needed strong pain killers (Co-Codamol), but I weaned myself off them as quickly as I could. One thing the physiotherapist taught me was the importance of the angle between the seat squab and the back should be around 110 degrees to minimise the distortion on the spine. Following this advice I can drive all day in every car I've owned since without any extra discomfort - Audi A4, Audi S4, Audi RS4, Skoda Octavia III, Citroen C1 & Toyota Aygo. I wouldn't say some of those have expensive multi-adjustable seats but I would advise getting advice on correct seat positioning.

Columbus mib1 0409 firmware
I think that Skoda & VW have also stopped issuing map updates for the MIB1 Amundsen as well as the MIB1 Columbus. I have a MIB1 Amundsen and on both the Skoda & VW map update sites the last available maps are from June 2020 - but VW have been sneaky and have re-released the June 2020 maps with a November 2020 date (they are 100% identical, I've done a byte for byte comparison). Maybe it's because it's now over 5 years since the MIB1s were last fitted in production?

Car purchased some quick queries.
@paulskiI'm not talking about service records, I'm talking about repair manuals, wiring diagrams, etc. - as near as you can get to a workshop manual.

Yes and yes. Buy a 1 hour subscription for a few Euros and download ALL the documents about your car (by VIN) to to your PC as pdf files - then you have everything you need without having to pay again

Driver assistance menus unavailable
Do you have Front Assist? I ask because a few weeks ago we got multiple error messages about ESP, TPMS, front assist, start-stop and ACC all not being available - the root cause? A failed right rear ABS wheel speed sensor.

SD card Music Issue
Are the file names that don't play very long? Are the files all in the root folder, or separated into folders by artist/album? If in multiple folders, are the ones that don't play in a folder with a large number of files?

At what tread depth do you change tyres?
I always replace at 3mm.

OK low voltage MIGHT have been the cause of start-stop not working but cruise control and random EPC errors probably has other cause(s). I would try and get a fault code scan done BEFORE taking it to the dealer so you're not relying on their information...

Many things can cause those faults (ABS sensors, ACC radar alignment, etc.) - you really need a fault code scan to determine the cause (and hence the fix).

Emissions.
If it's not gone into limp mode, then I would say it's OK to drive it (at your risk of course) but try to get it booked in ASAP.

Sat Nav not working :(
1) You MUST use a genuine Skoda SD card with the Amundsen, no other SD card will work. 2) You have to unzip the file that you download from the Skoda portal - I do this on my PC AFTER making a copy of the files that were on the SD card. 3) I find it easier to then clear the SD card by doing a quick format (FAT32 and I select a 4K cluster size). 4) Copy the unzipped downloaded files onto the SD card. 5) If you do all this on a Mac then you need to remove some temporary files that macOS puts onto the SD card - these all begin with the (dot) character. I use Blue Harvest or CleanEject to do this.

Excessive tire wear
BTW I asked about the history to try and eliminate that the car has been rebuilt with the rear wheels not parallel to the front wheels and hence the car 'crabbing' down the road scrubbing the rear wheels.

Have you have a full 4 wheel alignment check done? Are you the original owner, if not do you know the history of the car?

Tomtom Sat nav on a Bolero screen
That's fine so long as you always drive in areas where there is mobile coverage, but I'm in north Devon where there are many not-spots which is why even though I have an iPhone I gave up on Apple maps because I kept losing maps and appeared to be driving on a sheet of graph paper (as they don't support offline maps) and now use Google maps so I always know where I am!

Satellites are need for positioning but don't come out of your data allowance. If you download the maps to your phone while on WiFi then they will be used by default while you are in the area covered by the downloaded maps. I have the whole of south west England downloaded which covers 99% of my journeys. Whether Android Auto will work wirelessly depends on the car, most don't hence the need for a USB connection to the car.

WiFi (MiFi) keep losing connection.......
The update from 1903 to 2004 has been delayed for some PCs due to compatibility problems with the installer, so if you're going to do a complete reset I would suggest doing a re-install from a 2004 DVD (the ISO file can be downloaded on another PC and the DVD burnt without cost - you need a dual layer DVD).

Skoda Octavia 3 Owners register
Posts I've seen on here suggest that Kopecek will ship 'small' items still and the problem is only with 'large' items. You'll need to contact them to ask whether the items you want to purchase can be shipped to the UK at the moment.

Tomtom Sat nav on a Bolero screen
I've been using Google Maps via CarPlay on my other car for several months and have been very impressed - I think you'll find the capabilities are not very different from your TomTom, certainly more than on a PC.

If you use Android Auto with a USB connection and Google maps you can download maps while connected to your home WiFi so the only data usage while in the car would be for traffic information.

1.4TSI vs 1.5TSI Octavia DSG 2018 differences?
Earlier 1.4TSI were 140PS not 150PS, my 2015 1.4TSI is 140PS.

KPH/MPH
Not sure that's a good assumption based on the number of cars still in dealers with the owners driving hire cars...

We get at least 450 miles from a full tank in our 1.4TSI, and neither of us are gentle drivers!
