  1. It's the battery as @Breezy_Peteis trying to tell you. You need a new one, it'll only get worse as it gets colder until one morning it won't start.
  2. Are you guys saying that RHD is a completely different heater plenum and associated components from LHD? It ain't necessarily so, most airboxes I've tangled with are the same behind the dash, Renault, Peugeot, Citroen, VW etc.
  3. There's more heat than light when it comes to headlamp type advice: Halogen = Can see in the dark. Xenon, HID = Can see a bit more in the dark. Mark 2's can come with either type depending on the model, if you live in town it's a moot point since you'll hardly ever use main beams although paradoxically townies seem much more hung up about headlamps than us country types.
  4. When they're bad, but they generally start failing long beforehand so uneven idle can be an early symptom.
  5. If you go to a specialist they can just repair the Flexi.
  6. VRS is a diesel so uses a vacuum pump for the servo which can't affect idle speed. The regularity of the idle speed variation could be down to a failing DMF.
  7. That will be because there is no oil pressure sensor fitted!
  8. Yes wrong, insufficient wraparound as @Breezy_Petestates.
  9. An interference fit gets tight extremely quickly, so as the bolt starts to get tighter the pulley is already binding, think about a track rod end, as soon as the nut starts to tighten the taper is already locked in place.
  10. They look like more trouble than they're worth to be honest but you can advertise them on here for the price of a membership I believe. Here is where you're most likely to find a buyer anyway.
  11. These? https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/333847-arch-extensions/
  12. No, but it has higher power potential than the standard 1749 so if you're gonna remap then maybe.
  13. I'll have a stab, that throttle pedal position sensor code might be a clue that the output is of variable quality, I suspect it's misleading the ECU. Try swapping with your brother's sensor to test my theory.
  14. I get that, but this thread is two and a half years old so the OP won't reply. Never assume anything with mechanics, most of them don't have the brains they were born with. The 1.4 16V BBZ engine, which yours is, does not blow head gaskets so you needn't worry about that.
  15. Coolant leak will be from the radiator, you don't mention the spark plugs, have you had them out yet?
