  1. To be honest you could do a decent job yourself it's time consuming. I've lay 2mm sound deadening in the boot area and beneath the rear seats, that made a difference. So now I'm going to the rear doors and put 4 or 6 mm closed cell foam on top of that. The front doors are the trickiest. Ideally would like to take out of the wheel arches and cover them aswell.
  2. How much did they quote?
  3. Mines is a 2015 L&K. I did buy it from an Independent trader
  4. I think he meant that he would upgrade to a newer Superb due to the failures he's listed.
  5. ok so the Golf R and the Superb AWD are part of the same MQB, therefore most of the parts are identical. The ARBs are pretty fit and I've had no issues. Ive put it on the hardest setting and its fine.
  6. I've got the Whiteline Golf R ARB kit installed, which is front and rear with adjustable arms.
  7. Thought I updated this thread rather than start a new one! So R-Tech in Nuneaton have start tuning the MK3 Superb! Had they been doing it sooner they would have been my first choice for tuning mines.
  8. Nice. I'm sure the Scorpion downpipe is 3" and would then assume the RPM resonator delete pipe is the same. Otherwise it will be the same as the stock pipe width of 2.75".
  9. You will need to get a remap done to ensure the O2 sensor is working optimally. Otherwise the Engine check light will remain on the dash.
  10. Did you changed the backboxes or increase the diameter of the exhaust pipes? I got a custom made turbo back exhaust with 3.5" decat downpipe going to 3" exhaust into a an anti-drone box (front) and into a resonator just before the Y section. I increase the diameter to the Y section to 3" as well which go to the standard the backboxes. The sound is as standard and I believe its been restrictive in gaining power. Maybe if it pushed the power to beyond 500bhp then maybe. I've heard the Milltek Arteon cat back exhaust could fit with some modification.
  11. What a mission! Well done! What did you installed?
  12. No software changed at all. Brettikivi describes the process perfectly. The whole process shouldn't take more than 5 mins
  13. Hi Are you doing less than 20miles a day? If so then that might the issue. I had the same issue a few weeks back and couldn't figured it out. With the help on the forum (even looking at Facebook groups for a solution) that was the diagnosis. Otherwise it could be that the passenger locking mechanism is failing and needs replacing as it tends to fail on the older cars.
  14. I suffered that issue not so long ago. I used OBD11 to do a basic headlight adjustment routine and that sorted it.
  15. Great for anyone looking for abit more power whilst under warranty or those who don't want commit to a remap! GLWTS
  16. Also look out for coolant leak on the bottom tray as the Thermostat housing and waterpump are prone to leak and especially if its a high miler.
  17. I'm beginning to regret responding to your post! Maybe I don't have the patience as I'm recovering from covid! My car is tuned to Stage 3 which has a ECU and DSG tune done by JBS in Chesterfield. It's running a standard clutch, no mechanically modification done to it, only software! There are plenty of Golf R owners who are at Stage 3 and running between 520 - 550 bhp and limiting the torque to 600nm on a standard/stock DSG with no issue. They have to be on top of the maintenance to reduce the chances of failure. Naturally the life of the DSG clutch will be reduce depending on how they drive and how many launches they do. The top DSG tune is from TVS Engineering and they have agents across the UK - AKS tuning, Awesome, CLP automotive to name a few. However a few tuners have their own DSG tunes which work well - JBS, Ecotune, Unicorn and of course Revo. It all depends what you after! Personally would I go to stage 3 again if i had the chance? Most likely not. However I now have a car which is faster than an the previous model M3 which i would never be able to afford and has cost me a lot less. Plus the size of the Superb allows me to ferry the family about in comfort and ease along luggage.
  18. So mines to tuned to 422ft lbs which is 572nm on a standard DQ250
  19. Maybe I got it wrong and its 500nm as stock. Not sure what you mean by mechanically value. When you get a dsg tune they adjust the clamping pressure to ensure the clutch doesn't slip with the increase in torque.
  20. TVS DSG Software (awesomegti.com)
  21. I thought APR had stop making their clutch packs! The APR clutch pack allowed for higher torque levels I think up to 800NM+. All upgrade eases the strain on the gearbox. The only other company I know who are doing clutch packs are RTMG, RTMG DSG DQ250 Upgraded Clutch Pack – RTMG (r-tmg.co.uk)
  22. depending on which DSG you have: DQ250 - 600NM Max DQ380 - 700NM Max
  23. Most will need minimum 18" rims to clear if its 4 or 6pots. Mines are 8 pots and im running 18's. I know the Tarox 6pots minimum rim size is 17".
