  1. Radio PIN code might be stored in instrument cluster (on mk1 Fabia?). I think I read that somewhere once.
  2. Scroll past instead of posting, and they soon die...
  3. I believe @Crasher has a lot of experience in this area.
  4. That thread actually has a link back to this one. An even scarier pic halfway down page 1
  5. Not necessarily a good place for a cheap sensor, the genuine ones may not always be able to survive the environment. https://forums.tdiclub.com/index.php?threads/dpf-pressure-sensors-melted.514897/ To be fair, I haven't read that thread to know if that was an OEM one.
  6. Found one of the threads where relay faults have been found to cause fan issues: Radiator fan coming on randomly... - Skoda Superb Mk III - BRISKODA Don't think it's the exact thread I was thinking of, but it looks like it could be relevant to at least part of the OP's troubles.
  7. Ask the garage to remove a little.
  8. No, but they may have simply refilled with a bit too much. What oil does the invoice say they used and what quantity? When you checked it and found it to be just within range, was that with a cold engine, or once warmed up?
  9. The way I read the OP, it happened a long time after the engine last ran?
  10. How would explain fan running when engine off?
  11. I'm having a vague memory of a (engine ECU?) relay in the engine bay fuse/relay box that's been responsible for odd fan behaviour from time to time, replacement fixing it. Anyone got a good enough memory to track down such a thread? I remember expressing doubt that it could possibly be involved, and emerging with egg on my face.
  12. Look to be, item 15 on same page, just the one part number for all.
  13. Handling ought to improve once sorted!
  14. Wiring info shows 2 EGR valves, so probably true. Not sure on the physical arrangement though.
  15. How did it get bent, that must've been quite a knock?
  16. No, same stub axle for everyone, I would've said if it were different. See this page for example: rear axle beam with attachment parts - Fabia(FAB) [EUROPA 2004 year] (7zap.com) Item 2
  17. Anything that uses part number 6Q0501117, which is same for all Mk1 Fabia, all 9N/9N3 Polo and a host of others. See the 61 page compatibility listing here for example: Febi Rear Wheel Stub Axle Suspension Transmission Genuine OE Quality Replacement | eBay
  18. That's why you drive differently according to the conditions, isn't it? Or is that a forgotten art?
  19. Yep, that's him. Kevin Albert Williams, unfortunately his catchment area doesn't extend to Staffs where the OP is based. Clutch Replacement Service | Clutch Repair (williamsmobileclutch.co.uk) Not used him myself, and have no connection with him. Example of him on a 1.2 Polo, which will be a near identical job to the OP's car. h
  20. You'd probably find yourself asking it the other way round if you did throw a bunch of money at 'shiny shiny'. "What was wrong with the manual system, this one just seems to do whatever it feels like, not what I want"
  21. Probably doable for less than that, but not worth it. There simply aren't any significant benefits. I wouldn't want it if someone were to do it for nothing.
  22. The guy's not surprised, he's upset. As would most of us be upon finding out that our daily driver was out of action until some hundreds of pounds is spent on it (unless DIYed). Wait for some more quotes, and watch some YouTube videos by Williams mobile clutch service to learn that it is very possible to do on a driveway. Done a couple myself.
  23. Is there a part number for that bit on your invoice? Good on you for coming back with the solution to the problem. 👍
  24. Why not try the experiment I suggested, no cost in that? I'll explain why I've suggested it once you tell me what happens, or doesn't.
  25. See if the rev counter doesn't move when turning the engine on starter motor at a time before those 15 mins post-cutout, and does move at times which do lead to successful restart.
