Power steering unit or steering rack? There’s obviously more pressure on the power steering when turning at low speeds. Can you detect it when stationary with the bonnet up? Gaz

Is the hose long enough to cut 1/2” off the end and re-seat it as a makeshift repair? If not, could you cut it and add a section of copper/metal pipe on jubilee clips so you can get a clean inner section of the hose reseated? Again as a makeshift repair? Is the hose straight (ish) and simple enough that a generic coolant hose of the same bore could be suitable? But before any of that, if the hose isn’t damaged, have you tried releasing the clip, getting the hose moving, and then putting the clip back on, but rotated from its current location? Might provide an easy fix. Gaz

I was outside the front of my house this afternoon, saying hello to my 18 month old neighbour and his Mum. The V70's 15 years old - so it's averaged 2,667 a year: I bought it last year at 33k miles, so I've put 7k miles on it. 1200 of those were the trip last May up to Edinburgh. Gaz

Mrs Gaz's Polo GTI (1.8TSI) had a barely discernible misfire, which turned out to be a failing coil pack - a diagnostic scan revealed which one. It was an easy fix once we knew what it was. It flagged up as it got worse, triggering the EPC light. The car is rarely under any load, with usually only one person in it, but I could see it being far more noticeable had it been loaded up like yours. Our petrol cars are run pretty much exclusively on Momentum 99 👍. I've seen so many people say it doesn't notice whether 95 or 99RON is used, but I'm darn sure I can notice; moreso when giving it the beans. Gaz

Absolutely right. But you've lost me a bit; in your previous post you said it looks like a Discover Media unit: So I was pointing out that it doesn't look like my Discover unit. It takes very little to confirm 3V0035820H is an MIB3 unit: And that the unit in the glovebox doesn't come with two SD card slots. Interestingly it appears this unit can come both with, and without Satnav. Gaz
