  1. The other week I went out with a mate up on The Wirral to get her a new car. She's not short of a bob or two. We went to Skoda, Mazda and Lexus, and I was quite taken aback at their (poor) attitudes toward selling. I had very similar thoughts to yours. We then went to Tesla, where the experience was night and day - she now has a brand new Model 3.
  2. Coincidence is a funny old thing. I was rummaging around last night and came across this of my old Superb from July 2012: Fond memories 😊 Gaz
  3. Ooh, is that Jodrell Bank hiding behind the bushes? 😎
  4. Hello Trevor Good luck with the fixing up 👍 At ten years younger than you, my inclination to scrabble around under cars has all but evaporated, so in that sense I admire your daftness! Gaz
  5. Engine sounds well 👍 Gaz

Ciao Alessio A vRS 2.0TSI DSG (Sprint Yellow) was my first new car (and second Skoda) - brilliant and versatile cars 👍 Gaz

Hello Mike and welcome to Brisky. Gaz
  8. Rim width and offset might be important too. I'd think the 16" would fit over your brakes, but worth checking that as well (e.g. most vRS's can't use wheels less than 17"). 'commercial rated tyres' - are they van tyres?: G
  9. Hello and welcome LFK Gaz
  10. Lightweight 🤣🙄 Tauranga's quite a long way from Eastbourne, East Sussex 🤪 Welcome aboard Nick. Gaz
  11. Hello and welcome 👋 - from a dull, grey, windy and miserable 🌧️ East Sussex. Gaz

  14. Got some absolutely beautiful roses in our garden: Gaz
  15. Mrs Gaz had a 1981 1.3 in 1987 in two-tone blue above silver. We think it was a Sport, rather than a Supersport. It replaced a 1.1L (but was never as good). I worked in LA transport at the time and we had Chevettes as fleet cars (amongst others). They were really hit and miss - I remember one, brand new, being rejected because of roof rust, and another, also new, going back for using a litre (might've been a pint, my memory fails me) of oil every 500 miles.
  16. Red Squirrel at Yorkshire Arboretum the day before yesterday: Gaz
  17. Yorkshire Arboretum, yesterday: Lovely place to visit too 👍 Gaz

  19. Where, incidentally we’re in the company of eight Peacocks: And the owner was nice enough to tell us where they roost, and where to not park! 💩 G
  20. Sunset, middle of nowhere, somewhere north of York: Gaz And tonight’s (Saturday): G
  21. Got quite close to the Forth Bridge: Where we had a little picnic: Then visited the Rosslyn Chapel: Amazing place 😎 No signs of Messrs Hanks nor Da Vinci 🙄 Gaz
  22. Sunshine on Leith: Bit of a mist coming in, but t’was nice to see 😎 Gaz
  23. Today I’m being a tourist: Cloudy first thing, but coming out nice now. Obligatory car shot: Gaz
  24. I sat in my first Elroq yesterday and was surprisingly underwhelmed too. But also from the fact I couldn’t have one. At 6’4” the only way I could get in was with the seat all the way back, but then it also had to be all the way down too, which was then a complete no for me as a driving position. Gaz
  25. According to the age you’re looking at, the 1.6TDI’s had the seven speed DQ200 dry clutch, whereas the 2.0TDI’s had the six speed wet clutch DQ250. The DQ250 is, in my opinion, the better and more robust of the two. Gaz
