it is also possible that the mechanical height adjustment is too low as set at the factory, seems to be the case with my 2012 and there were a few threads on this years back. It is something i have got used to and have never got round to correcting.

the tailgate lamps pull out from one side the same as the footwell lamps. they are held in with sprung loaded clips. On the estate with the sunroof the two rear passenger lamps though bigger employ the same spring clip method but are much stronger and seem to have an internal metal trim the lamp fits through perhaps to give the headlining more strength? removing both of those lamps on mine was very difficult and has resulted in them being a looser fit. It may be possible to remove just the clear lens by inserting a flat tool in the centre top and prising it out however trying to get the festoon bulb in its contacts would be beyond fiddly.

I have only ever seen 400k described as daylight white and personally agree with that, 2900k is orange/warm white light you get from incandescent bulbs for example. I suspect the label against 4000k should say daylight not warm.?

very informative thank you. I keep toying with the idea of fitting the extrons but for me the maxidot integration and even more phone integration is of the highest importance. Also with the skoda sound system on the L&K I believe there is an issue / non compatibility. I also am waiting for WIRELESS android auto so that I can get back to handsfree text replying like i could so easily with windows phone.

those first two part numbers relate to the LHD version, the part number you need will be on the reverse of the trim if you can get it off? If not I expect someone will post it soon enough, I dont recal the system to convert part numbers from lhd to rhd right now.

would be interesting to hear a lot more about your xtrons after you have used it for some weeks. what is better and worse than the rns510, how much it cost, how tricky to fit and do you retain the maxidot information etc

The wires supplying the handle illumination are quite thin so I wonder how much extra current they could carry? There must be a permanent live in the door so the handle led supply could trip a relay to power extra loads.

Updating the maps would not cure this fault as it is the gps aerial. there are cheap fixes and a plethora of threads here about it. use the search function.

The bluetooth settings are in the maxidot (the display between the rev counter and speedo') not on columbus and are accessed using the sterring wheel buttons on the right. There is a very recent thread with a diagram of what each button does.

I stopped changing back to the 18" for summer some years back now and have no intention of ever doing so again. I have gone from replacing 4 tyres one year and two the next year to less than half that and the 16" are cheaper too. I miss the look of the sirrus alloys and wish i could find 16" alloys that looked the same but that's life.
