GTR = 4WD.... Ideal for snow emoticon-0105-wink.gif

Just read this thread from start to finish, your vRS is minty cool, but your GT-R is amazing love your Trumpet exhausts , your boy looks looks lost next to the starship, bet it goes lightspeed. By the way your se centercaps are covered on warranty , they are going milky .(Ihad two setts free) I think I will arange a mini meet at your house Richard

Thanks, will look into changing the SE centre caps when the car comes out for spring.

Warranty runs out in March. Centre caps are probably one of the few things they'd still cover. :giggle:

Looks like a Skoda mini meet at my house most days.

Richard,

Tell me - Which car do you get most questions about in general? / Which provides the most 'pub talk' - This may seem like a daft question but I am really interested.

I need another go in the GTR... :(

Richard,

The Yeti.

Yes, I'm serious.

I think it's because it's always getting good write ups in the magazines and was on Top Gear.

Thing is, car people love the GT-R and even want to talk to you in the car park as ASDA, but anyone else doesn't really know what it is. It's a Nissan.

Although you do get a lot of attention driving about in it.

But we still get people asking to look in the Yeti over a year after we got it!

People seem honestly curious because they may get one in the future.

And the Fabia VRS SE is a stealth car, so nobody really cares. :giggle:

The problem with the Nissan is you can't explain it to people.

They ask how fast it is and you say "fast, about 3 seconds to 60mph" and they just kind of smile and agree it's fast. But having never been in the thing it's very difficult to actually get an idea of what the car can do. You just can't explain the way it accelerates, stops and goes round corners because up to a couple of years ago there was nothing like it that didn't require a helmet and you to sit in scaffolding.

So to most people it's just a "Fast Nissan". When in actual fact it's absolutely bonkers and unlike anything I've ever experienced before. But it's difficult to grasp how good it is if you've never been in one with an enthusiastic driver.

Interesting, I would have said the GT-R would get more attention, or perhaps it does but the Yeti gets even more attention. Although I see alot of Skodas around - the Superbs and Yetis are still the ones which are like rocking horse poo, can't even say I've seen many Roomsters. One thing though, since our company car policy changed there are at least 5 Yetis on the fleet

There are a couple of modded GT-Rs in Leics - I think the Chinese/Japanese students own them - very smart, very loud, very fast, one has been wrapped in matt black which looks very stealth.

Obviously you've worked hard to build up your business which I admire you for - why not have some toys.

Just out of interest where is your company based, and do you do hire?

Yes you are right. The GT-R gets more attention in general, but I think I answered the question from Rob a bit too directly.

We get more questions about the Yeti, more people want to know about it, chat about it.

But we get more staring in the GT-R. More "nice car" comments.

We are based in London and don't do hire without a driver.

I find we can't compete with the one man band who has a minibus on the drive and far, far lower running costs if people want a group outing or a chrismas party etc... one off type stuff.

Also it's a pain having a bus full of sick from a beer run and then the next day you need to use it to take children to school. So we just try not to do private stuff.

We specialise in local authority and special needs. The fleet policy is very good value, because only our drivers are covered and they are only pottering about London most of the time at low speed.

Original GT-R helmet as given to the people who attended the pre-launch track days as a present by Nissan in 2009. :)

Understandable, and perfectly reasonable. Was just curious as I may have a potential requirement for transport in London during next year, either side of one particular event.

Cool helmet for a cool car, I could maybe just afford the Helmet :giggle:

Richard, what size tyres are you running and where did you get them from? I can't find anyone that sells R888's in 205/40/17.

Also, when are we gunna meet up to try the Spider and so on?

205/40 ZR17 84W.

Jabbasport kindly got them for me and even delivered to my work address.

Competitive price too.

Hopefully try the rim in a week or so, I'll text you in a few days. Sorry, I've been a bit busy with a new contract. Should have been in touch before now.

Still trying to find my spare 17" Spider rim. It wasn't in the VRS, so it's in the depot somewhere...

Decided to go for one of these? :)

The power part of that would be a downgrade!

Nissan are effectively charging £10,000 to take out the back seats, fit different new ones, change the wheels and add a few air scoops. :o No power change.

Baring in mind the price is now about £75k for the new 2012 model and it's not a cheap car coming in at £85k!

Particularly when you consider you can buy a 10 plate like mine for half that and with about £5k of mods it'll go faster and stop faster...

It'll be nice if increasing the price on new ones each year helps residual values of the older ones though. :D

The Fabia VRS SE is laid up for winter under a nice soft blanket.

Bought a CTEK battery charger and that's connected up as of this morning.

So just waiting for the Spring now, first MOT due in March.

Is this the most pampered Fabia VRS? :giggle:

Have you got it a saucer of milk :giggle:

I'm impressed Richard with both the vRS and the GT-R. Lucky man.

As you mentioned way back, my Yeti is no vRS, but it is fun with Ben's magic.

Thing is RH, the Yeti is not really designed to be a racer, although I am curious what can be done... ;)

Apart from go like the clappers it does everything else rather well.

Nissan have had a go with the Juke.... emoticon-0103-cool.gif

I heard a little about that Sam, it's almost a GT-R in a Juke body.

They are supposed to be making one RHD and one LHD for the halo effect. Apparently Kazutoshi Mizuno (aka Mr GTR) is not a happy bunny, as it takes components from his meticulously engineered GT-R project and stuffs them in a Juke for publicity purposes.

As a driver of his amazing creation, I have to say I agree. What next, a Micra GT-R? :o
