10 points for effort. (3 for video quality!) 10/10 for responding to prospective customer requests! Looks a strong product and a considerable performance gain.

Am still staggered at the big round 500 number! Congrats! Liking the decals too by the way. Any other mods happening to the car?

My younger brother took the video and I didn't want to disappoint ;)

Spacers and suspension for sure are on the horizon, and maybe the milltek exhaust too.. :)

Will there be a stage 2 with the miltek for the Tdi mate?

I honestly don't know if there would be any gains with an exhaust, but well know more over the coming weeks once Milltek have had a closer look at Bens car

Well this is my first Skoda and I know I've said it over and over again, but I do love mine :) my ideal car would be this new MQB platform, this new 184 engine, manual transmission and AWD.. Oh and 235ps and 500nm :)

Sounds a good motor that one :)

Will report back once cars arrive. :)

getting back to the subject in hand..

well the figures are consistent with what we achieved on Sharks Dyno, of 226bhp and 490nm on map 4 plus 1

map 4 plus 1 - 232.9bhp and 368.6lbft/501nm

To save any confusion with our stage 2 listings on our website

Just wanted to reiterate that these figures were produced on a standard mk3 vrs 2.0 TDI 184ps using our CRDT module only :) we class this as our stage 2 kit, as we also offer a module which controls the fuelling only and this is called crd2+

So no hardware updates, just our plug and play CRDT :)

I dont want to cause any arguments, but, I popped in to my dealer this afternoon and they were mid way through the PDI. I started asking him about warranty and modifications and his answer was "as long as you can remove the mod and return the car to standard then there wouldnt be a problem" so wheels, spoilers, suspension, exhaust all fine. He then said "if the car was mapped, then it would absolutely void the warranty". I asked about stand alone tuning boxes e.g DTUK box and he repeated his first statement that as long as it could be put back together with no visible sign of interference then they couldnt do anything about something they never knew was there (wink wink)!

I'm not against tuning boxes (I'm considering a DTUK unit for the wife's thirsty Ford Kuga) and the fact that it's a plug in/pull out device is appealing BUT I would have to balance this with a risk (however small) of an RTA whereby the device could not be retrieved. I don't know enough about insurance assessment but assume that inspections would identify such a device and thus void a claim. Only my opinion and it's an individual's choice/outlook on life.

An RTA whilst using a tuning box will not affect insurance so long as you declare it beforehand. Always declare such mods beforehand, otherwise it is a waste of time insuring your car. With similar mods on previous Subaru's the most I have been charged is around £80 on top of the standard premium (including policy change fee).

We have a couple of insurance friendly options available, the Green ECO 3 and CRDe. Give us a call and we can explain in greater detail

You should always tell your insurance of the map/tuning box anyway

The poster's comment from the dealer was regarding a potential warranty issue

I'm interested in getting one of your boxes when I get VRS, personally I would prefer a remap, but as they are unavailable this looks like best option so thanks for posting info and rolling road graphs.

Quick Q on graph, I noticed on earlier graph at Shark, and again on the Dastek one that there's a dip between 2600 and 3300 rpm on both, but standard tune on Shark doesn't show this. Do you know what's causing this and is this noticeably when overtaking etc. ?

It won't affect me getting one as it's going to be significantly better than standard, just curious.

Cheers

Steve

Steve I noticed this too, and I'm not sure if it's a dip or actually a secondary rise at 3000-3500 but it's certainly not noticeable on the road.

Steve,

I have been running one the DTUK boxes on my car for 6 weeks now with Zero problems... The difference against standard is impressive, and you have the option of course of tweaking the box to your own taste, I have experimented with the different settings regularly over the time I have had this fitted, probably once week I would say. And with no issues... Given that re-maps aren't readily available this is an excellent option.

Thanks for taking the time to post Steve with your experiences. Appreciated

Andrew,

I have not noticed drop off between that range to be honest, it is not felt when driving, graphs are all well and good but it's how it feels to drive that is important, and I have absolutely no complaints

And, I'm back to running 4+3 with no problems, which I'm sure you'll be interested to know...

I'll call you next week regarding the pedal box... ;)

Thanks for taking the time to post Steve with your experiences. Appreciated

Cheers

Your welcome Steve, if you've got any other questions with regard to this, I'll try and help...

Informed information is always good when you're trying to make a decision...
